The third novel in USA Today bestselling author Penelope Bloom’s Anyone But… series sizzles with a sexy and hilarious story about letting go of the past to chase the love of a lifetime.Seven years ago, I swore I’d never date Nick King. Ever. Now I’m supposed to work under him—and no, despite the way he glares like he wants to strip me bare, I mean he’ll be my boss. But what better way to prove I’m … boss. But what better way to prove I’m really over him, right?
I was a nerdy overachiever in high school, and Nick was my hopeless crush. I even laminated a note he passed to me; granted, I had a thing for laminators, but that’s beside the point.
Now, my only shot at getting my life back on track is to crawl to him on my knees and pray I nail the interview. Maybe I should pray that’s the only thing that gets nailed in his office—especially since he looks like he wants to devour me.
Nick broke my heart once. But hey, I’m still pretty handy with a laminator. Maybe I could run my heart through one before I take this job.

I have loved this series and have wanted this story since Anyone But Rich came out. Nick and Miranda did not disappoint. When Miranda starts a new job under Nick, the fireworks start. The banter between these two had me laughing and ping oh my gosh! There of course is some drama by a ding bat of an ex, who just doesn’t understand no and it’s over. I kinda wish there were more King brothers. I loved seeing The other King men and their significant women. Of course, Cade will have you laughing with his commentary. Don’t miss out on this great story and characters.
This is the final book in this series and it was just as good as the last one. Nick was as humorous as cade in some ways. He showed some dominant tendencies towards miranda , which only heighten the story. I loved how she unravelled from being a out together business woman to letting life leader and not the other way around. A great story and wonderful finish to the series.
Very true, women belong to Venus and men belong to Mars. A very different way of seeing and interpreting things and Miranda and Nick have been suffering the consequences for 7 years but it was time for them to have their happy ending. It was a lot of fun to see their situation spinning around they playing who was more resistant to the strong attraction that was present all the time driving them crazy. ‘Prim and Proper MIranda Collins’ yearning for her nemesis and ‘No clue what happened Nick King’ still in the dark. And that Cade King who looks crazier than a goat. What a fun character! I liked this story full of entertaining situations that required ingenuity and a good dose of humor to handle them. Not at all boring these King brothers and the colorful couples that suited them. Good characters, funny scenes, romance, passion, a jumped ex and a plot development that kept me enjoying waiting for the outcome of the amusing drama.
I couldnt wait to read Nick and Miranda’s story, and it didnt disappoint. We get to see Miranda break put of her perfect girl shell. We her to see Nick lose a little control when he gets jealous. We get to visit with the characters from the previous 2 books. And we get a lot of Cade, who I love. Lots of angst, fun and steamy scenes. I loved this book but I hated to say goodbye to all the fabulous characters in the Anyone But series.
This is Nick and Miranda’s story. This is a second chance read with lots of steam! They are a young couple that went their separate ways only to find themselves together again years later. You won’t want this book to end.
Nick and Miranda’s story is finally here!! This sweet and funny rom com is the final story in the Anyone But….. series and features the final King brother, Nick, and his high school crush, Miranda. A misunderstanding with a poem has caused them to waste seven years. Now, they are working together and both finding it hard to deny their feelings for each other. Miranda is afraid to be anything but perfect as everyone believes. She’s also afraid to trust Nick with her heart again. They prove that it doesn’t matter what everyone thinks about you, it’s what you think of yourself and what makes you happy.
Miranda and Nick’s turn!
I was on the fence about even attempting to read this one, since I have not been Miranda’s biggest fan throughout the other brother’s books, but overwhelming curiosity won out- and I am so glad it did.
I would have hated to miss out on the walkie talkie throwing, snail theories, rabid bears, slow-burning romancing, and zucchini jousting love fest that is this tale!
Along with getting a behind the perfect scenes look into Miriandas world and how Nick intertwines, lightened my dislike for her, and upped my love the brothers tenfold!
Witty, fun, light drama, sensual tension blasted with plenty of love. ‘ Anyone But Nick ‘ is a fantabulous read!
Finally Nick and Miranda get there story and it will have you laughing out loud. This book gives us a different side of these two serious characters that will capture your heart. I freely reviewed this book.
The third book in the series and Miranda is the final one to break the Oath to never have anything to do with a King Brother!
Nick has always likes Miranda but years earlier he broke her heart, he is determined to win her back, but also wants to keep their relationship professional – he doesn’t think he can have both!
This is a well written, funny down to earth book about two people finding their way to each other and the antics of everyone around them! The road to love is never easy and with ex partners scheming it’s not going to be easy, but these King men know how to get what they want!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and laughed throughout the whole story!
Nick is the last of the King brothers to have a second chance at love in this rom com series. Nick is smart, calm, measured-and lonely. Miranda has lived her life based on the expectations of others. She is lonely from trying to live up to her nickname of Miss Perfect. I love the concept of three brothers falling in love with, losing, and making sure they have another chance to win over these three best friends who have vowed to never date any of them again. Nick & Miranda find a way to take a chance with each other, despite the obstacles in their way. Loved seeing the other two couples with their quirks, and the parents who are maturing. A great book to close the series.
I received a copy of this book. This is my honest opinion, voluntarily provided.
Anyone But Nick is the third book in the Anyone But series, and while it could be read as a stand alone, you’ll get more out of the characters by reading the books in order. Miranda has hated Nick for the past seven years, but now that her life is imploding around her, she has to work under him at her new job. Secrets will try to tear them apart, but what happens when their chemistry finally explodes? Will there be fireworks of love, or a path of destruction?
I was so looking forward to Miranda and Nick’s book since reading the first book in the series, and I’m so happy with how it turned out. The beginning was a lot more angsty than I was expecting, but both Miranda and Nick are smart and stubborn and tried to do the smart and best thing instead of just following their hearts. I loved when the truth came out one drunken night, and how the ending of the book all played out, though! So good! Miranda had such a high reputation and all these expectations set on her, that she didn’t know how to break free of them. I loved watching her bloom into her own person and accept all aspects of herself, the flawed especially. Nick is smart, collected, funny, puts Miranda above his own needs, but isn’t afraid to throw minor wrenches into her perfectionism. I love their banter, how their brain wavelengths match up, and I loved their passion! There’s some crazy drama that happens, but when Nick’s older brother is Cade, I mean… what can you expect? The ending of this book and series was pretty fabulous, too! I really enjoyed reading this book and as always, look forward to more from Ms. Bloom!
This was Book 3 of the “Anyone But…” series and it was my favorite! The storyline was well written and the characters were well created! I loved the interaction and the sizzling chemistry between Nick and Miranda made this book a very enjoyable and entertaining read!
Anyone But Nick by Penelope Bloom is book Three in the Anyone But…. Series. This is the story of Nick and Miranda. I have read the previous book that are each about one of the King Brothers but I do feel you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. But I have been enjoying them in order so I would always recommend that. Nick is the last King Brother standing and Miranda is the last friends standing in her group. Miranda and her friends had sworn off the King Brothers but each friend has fallen for a King Brother except Miranda. Miranda and Nick at one time where friends but a misunderstanding pulled them apart and other things added to them being pulled further apart. Miranda had went on to do good but here recently things are off the rails. Then she is suppose to work with Nick which puts them back in each others orbit. I have really enjoyed this series so I was excited to read this book. Loved it.
This is the third and final book in the Anything But series and although I feel you could read any of them as standalones I think you will end up feeling cheated if you do. All the characters reappear and events are referenced throughout and I think that this creates a much bigger and complete picture if enjoyed in its entirety. Nick and Miranda’s book is a bit of a slow burn but I felt that worked with their history. These two have baggage to work through, hurt feelings to repair and misunderstandings to clear up. I found Nick to be very swoony in a nerdy, good guy way and I found Miranda very relatable. The story line is filled with more than enough tension, humor, emotional turmoil and drama to keep you entertained and happy as you read this book. I’m a bit sad to say goodbye to these characters but I look forward to what comes next from this author.
Penelope Bloom is an absolute master of romantic comedy! Her books are sexy, sweet and definitely hilarious! Anyone But Nick is the 3rd book in this series and I found myself laughing my head off through most of it. Nick and Miranda have been crushing on each other since high school, but a crazy mistake has kept them apart just as long. Watching these two work out their feelings for each other with some not very subtle help from friends and relatives is just the funniest thing ever. As with Ms. Bloom’s other series’ we get to visit past friends, thankfully, and Cade is still one of the most unique characters she’s written…that man is totally goofy and is married to an equally goofy woman…the things he, or rather they, come up with…too funny! This whole series is just such fun and a must read. Waiting patiently for whatever Ms. Bloom comes up with next, I’m sure it’ll be amazing! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Anyone But Nick by Penelope Bloom a five-star read that everyone should read. This is number three in the Anyone But series and they all tell the story of a different King brother, Nick was always the one who keeps himself to himself, Cade is the crazy one who lives for the thrill and the snails, Rich was the cocky Romantic one, with the grand gestures and lovely attitude, Nick was the studious one working away in the background. But all of that changes in this story, this time Nick has the limelight shone on him and shine he does. This was a good story; it did drift a little in the middle and I nearly didn’t give it five-stars but overall the story was just so good. I loved the whole aspect of Bark Bites and where they go with it, Miranda was a great and funny character one you can easily get behind and her relationship with a certain Bone is just super special.
I’m sad to say goodbye to the King brothers. Anyone But Nick is slightly more serious than the other two of the series but definitely sits firmly in the rom-com category, it’s sweet with a combination of second chance and slow burn, maybe a tiny bit of enemies to lovers. Miranda Collins, ever the perfectionist, has lost both her boyfriend and job at the beginning of the story and is feeling the pressure to keep up her facade. Unknowingly she accepts an interview with a company that the King brothers have just taken over and is going to be interviewed by and working alongside Nick. Nick is considered the genius of the family, definitely the more serious one and more often than not in charge of keeping Cade alive. I loved the back and forth and the slower burn, and honestly the drunk Miranda confessions too. The story kept my interest, and while I liked the other two books, this one is my favorite because they felt a little more like real people to me, I do think Cade’s personality was needed for a lot of the comic relief, but it didn’t feel over the top like portions of his book did. If you need something sweet and funny with low angst this is the book for you, it can work as a standalone, but it’s better if you read the others first. Thank you to Montlake Romance for an ARC.
Miranda wants anyone but….Nick (not)
Miranda swore an oath with her besties after the King brothers all did wrong by them. Now seven years later and Miranda has lost her job and is about to interview for a job she would’ve never thought she would apply for. Unbeknownst to her Nick and Cade are also there with a surprise of their own
This story had a few really funny parts to it which I laughed out loudly and enjoyed and a few small twists but a good read overall I received an advanced copy via Netgalley and I voluntarily leave my honest review
This book is absolutely hilarious thanks to Cade and Nick and Miranda were absolutely perfect together. I know it’s Nicks story but omg Cade too me stole the show. The crazy things that come out of his mouth is hilarious. This series is an absolute must read and I recommend everyone too one click.
Anyone But Nick is the last book in Penelope Bloom’s Anyone But series. Seven years ago, Miranda vowed to never date Nick. He broke her heart once, and she refuses to let him do it again. But when he moves back into town and inadvertently becomes her boss, she’ll have to finally figure out if she hates him, or if she actually loves him. And Nick’s true intentions will be revealed.
Having not read the previous two novels in the series, I was at a slight disadvantage insofar as backstory was concerned. However, I think Bloom does a great job of contextualizing the characters in a way that makes this mostly work as a standalone. My advice would be to read the previous novels first.
It’s fun and flirty, but left me wanting a little bit… more. Perhaps if I had read the other two books and had more backstory/context, I would have been itching for these two to get together. I just didn’t feel like there was enough chemistry between the hero and the heroine. But I think fans of the series will not be disappointed, and the novel has a great set of epilogues that wraps up the series nicely.
**Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for providing this ARC in exchange for my honest review!**
