The third novel in USA Today bestselling author Penelope Bloom’s Anyone But… series sizzles with a sexy and hilarious story about letting go of the past to chase the love of a lifetime.Seven years ago, I swore I’d never date Nick King. Ever. Now I’m supposed to work under him—and no, despite the way he glares like he wants to strip me bare, I mean he’ll be my boss. But what better way to prove I’m … boss. But what better way to prove I’m really over him, right?
I was a nerdy overachiever in high school, and Nick was my hopeless crush. I even laminated a note he passed to me; granted, I had a thing for laminators, but that’s beside the point.
Now, my only shot at getting my life back on track is to crawl to him on my knees and pray I nail the interview. Maybe I should pray that’s the only thing that gets nailed in his office—especially since he looks like he wants to devour me.
Nick broke my heart once. But hey, I’m still pretty handy with a laminator. Maybe I could run my heart through one before I take this job.

ANYONE BUT NICK (Anyone But… Book #3) by Penelope Bloom is the third book in the King Brothers contemporary romance trilogy. This one is an enemies-to-lovers romance that can be read as a standalone, but I preferred to read them in order to see each of the brothers fall and keep all of the connections and timelines straight between characters.
In high school. Miranda always felt a special connection to Nick King. When she finally built up the courage to slip a poem into his locker to let him know, she does not sign it and it is the cause of a seven-year misunderstanding and her hatred of Nick King.
Miranda has her life all planned out in steps to get her to the top of the corporate ladder with the perfect mate. But it has all fallen apart. She broke up with her perfect boyfriend and was fired from her perfect job. When she goes to apply for a new VP position, she can not believe Nick King just bought the business.
Nick is impressed by Miranda’s resume, but he wants more. He never understood what happened to their friendship in high school and he has never been truly satisfied with any other woman. Nick gives Miranda the job. Will he be able to work with Miranda on a strictly professional level or will they be able to give their friendship a second chance and turn it into more?
I enjoyed Nick trying to find the right way to deal with Miranda, while not treading all over her feelings, but I had a difficult time warming up to Miranda. I did not understand why she was so set on her professional persona when her best friends and family were all fine with the real Miranda. It took her too long to figure that out. Once Cade got involved, I enjoyed the story more and Miranda started to loosen up. The sex scenes are explicit, but not gratuitous.
This is a good close to the trilogy, but not my favorite of the three books. I loved reading the epilogue that showed the families all happy in the near future. This is a fun and entertaining trilogy to read.
4.5-Stars for another Penelope Bloom witty read!
I have been a fan of several Penelope Bloom series but am still amazed her tales are never lacking. I actually didn’t read the first two books in the series, but after reading Anyone but Nick, I am definitely going back and reading them. I found Nick to be endearing in a sweet but funny way but even more than that he seems to keep Miranda on her toes and they are definitely a ‘circle fitting in a circle hole’ kinda way, read the story & you’ll understand the comment. I don’t like to give too much of the story away in my review, but I can guarantee this is one witty, banter filled, fun read that goes by way too quickly. I can’t wait to see what the next Penelope Bloom series brings, but wish there were more King brothers to add to this series. Unfortunately, that isn’t likely with this ‘snail tale’ & don’t take that to mean it’s a slow read because it’s anything but that. 100% recommend Anyone But Nick, Book 3 in the Anything But series.
While I did receive an advance copy from the author via NetGalley, I am voluntarily leaving my own opinion with this voluntary, unsolicited review.
Oh these characters make me chuckle so much, I just love their world and reading about what they get up to. The place they create sounds fab. Such an enjoyable read bid love to spend more time with them and especially their kids!!!
This family! I can’t say enough wonderful things about this series. Penelope Bloom just nails it this time again. Her characters always give all feels, love, frustration, angst, happiness, and one of the biggest for me humor. I find myself laughing so hard out loud that people look at you like your crazy and I love a book that can do that. This had wonderful storylines and terrific leading ladies and such swoon worthy guys.
Miranda is the last of the three friends that made the solemn oath to never ever date a King brother. Now that her friends Kira and Iris have reunited with their King fling, Miranda is the last one standing and Nick King (who she had been so in love with seven years ago) is the last brother left.
She knows she hates him. She knows there is no way she is dropping the oath. She knows that by working under him as his VP in his newest company she is totally screwed. What she doesn’t know is that she has always been the one girl that Nick could never get out of his head.
This is a fun read with two crazy smart people that overanalyze anything and everything and nearly cheat themselves out of love.
Loved it!
(I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley.)
Love this book. Nick is probably my favorite in this series. I just adored him. I wasnt a fan of Miranda in the previous books, but she definitely improved herself in this one. A really great book by Penelope.
Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Miranda had a crush on Nick in high school but she was the nerdy girl he didn’t notice. Now she needs a job and has to impress Nick as he will be her boss. Can she keep her heart from getting broken in the mix? A good second chance romance that is tons of fun.
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.
This is the last book in the Anyone series that is set
around the King Brothers.
To get the true feeling for Nick and Miranda story I would recommend
reading the other two books.
The chemistry between the characters is interesting and has body to them.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book via NetGalley.
This is the third installment in the Anyone But trilogy. These King brothers are something else, I am really enjoying their stories. I am sad to see this trilogy come to an end. Anyone But Nick is my favorite of the trilogy. This book had me laughing.
Nick and Miranda are finally getting their chance. She was holding strong to the oath she made with her best friends. When they met in high school Nick and Miranda connected and never really moved on. Now that he is back she is having a hard time sticking to the oath to never date a King brother.
This trilogy was so much fun to read.
Book 3 in the Anyone But series. Very enjoyable read. A great second chance romance for Nick and Miranda. Great chemistry and attraction between the characters. Loved the epilogue. Great way to end the series.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Yeah, it worth the read! I oath it!
Bahahaha!
Penelope Bloom has me worried. I have to admit that Cade is my favorite brother but only because he entertains me to the point of almost peeing myself. I wasn’t sure she’d be able to top Anyone But Cade and now I know she chose the right path.
Anyone But Nick has all the fun, funny, and crazy of the previous Anyone novels with even more loved up romance and scorn. I oath it! Lol. Trust my crazy. Enjoy the weird. Love the snails.
This is the final book in this trilogy and finally Nick and Miranda get together. This is an enemies to lovers. Nick is the studious one and with the acquiring of the newest company one of the first interviews is for vice president and it turns out to be Miranda. Oh, this got interesting real fast. What started as a misunderstanding back in high school and vowing to hate the King brothers forever, her friends have given up and are with the other two brothers and Miranda is the only one holding out…but for how long. These two have such chemistry and when they are together there is something in the air and they banter back and forth until they finally figure out there is more heat behind the banter. This one was so good and wrapped up the trilogy wonderfully!
And that concludes the series with Miranda and Nick’s story. I wasn’t sure how I was going to like this one because I already wasn’t a huge fan of Miranda. But she’s so different in this one than what we’ve seen in the previous books.
Cade is still hilarious as ever and rather obnoxious, but I loved all the coupling interactions. Definitely hilarious at times.
I was hoping for more on the romance and them just navigating being together. With these two having a lot of history and been crushing on each other since high school, I just craved more. I did like seeing them work through past to finally get to their present.
I’m definitely a fan of Penelope’s writing, but this series was ok to me. I’m looking forward to reading her other books.
**AN ARC WAS PROVIDED IN EXCHANGE FOR A REVIEW**
An exciting end to the King’s brothers quest to find there other half.
I just loved the humour and comedy most especially courtesy of Cade and the watermelon duel will forever hold a special place in my laughter bank.
Can’t wait to see what Penelope has next for us.
ANYONE BUT NICK is the third and final instalment in Penelope Bloom’s contemporary, adult ANYONE BUT… romance series focusing on the King brothers: twins Rich and Cade, and younger brother Nick. This is billionaire businessman Nick King, and Miranda Collins’ story line. ANYONE BUT NICK can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.
SOME BACKGROUND: Seven years earlier high school friends Miranda, Kira and Iris made a promise to never date the King brothers in response to heartbreak, secret and lies that spiralled out of control. Fast forward to present day wherein the King brothers have returned to their hometown of West Valley, North Carolina in an effort to upstart a new division in their billion dollar high tech industry.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Nick and Miranda) ANYONE BUT NICK follows the enemies to friends relationship between billionaire businessman Nick King, and Miranda Collins. In high school, Miranda Collins had been secretly in love with Nick King but our hero mistakenly thought that an anonymous poem written by Miranda was written by her friend Kira, and made a play for someone else. Fast forward to present day wherein Miranda is at a crossroads in both her personal and professional life finds herself the new vice-president of the King brother’s latest business acquisition. Working for Nick King means up close and personal with the man that destroyed her heart, a man who had been secretly in love with our heroine, in return. What ensues is the tempestuous but building relationship and romance between Nick and Miranda, and the potential fall-out as Miranda’s past comes looking for a second chance by taking aim at the King family dynasty.
Miranda Collins has a love-hate relationship with Nicholas King, a relationship destroyed by a case of mistaken belief, and a perception of unrequited love. Working directly under our story line hero forces all of the old feelings front and center, especially when Nick organizes a employee weekend, that is about to pull the couple into a potential disaster that will quickly get out of control. Nick wants Miranda Collins, and making a play for his new vice-president means admitting his heart has always wanted our story line heroine but the yin and yang of their personal relationship is fraught with sexual tension and barely controlled tension and anxiety. The $ex scenes are passionate and intimate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The secondary and supporting characters are colorful and fun. Reporter Max Frost is looking for some dirt on the King Brother’s empire. We are reintroduced to Nick’s twin brothers Rich and his wife Kira; Cade and Iris, and Cade’s son Bear; as well as their parents Harper and Edna King. Miranda’s ex boyfriend Robbie is determined to pull Miranda back into his life even if it means using every game necessary to destroy the man with whom she has fallen in love.
ANYONE BUT NICK is a story of family and friendships; betrayal and revenge. The premise is fast paced and entertaining; the romance is seductive and captivating; the characters are energetic, and real-the witty banter and child-like humor of Cade King is alone, worth the price of admission to Anyone But Nick.
Miranda and Nick change from enemies to lovers!
Miranda Collins and her friends swore an oath in high school to never date any of the King brothers after he broke her heart but her friends have broken the oath and Miranda is the only who still cared about the oath. Miranda didn’t want to talk to Nick King but after he bought the company on the day she was interviewing for a job after getting fired from her last one. Miranda thought everything was a challenge and Nick King is the biggest challenge she has faced but working with him at the new company has totally changed what she thought of him. Nick King is used to women doing what he wants but Miranda challenges him every day.
Anyone but Nick is the third book in the series and I recommend that you read them in order because each story adds more to the series because each couple changes from enemies to lovers.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
What fitting ending to a fun series! Nicks HEA was filled with laugh out moments from start to finish that will make you smile. I enjoyed the coming together of Nick and Miranda which was sweet, steamy and so worth the wait. Sad to see this series end but glad to have experienced it with it well written storyline and wonderful likable characters that you won’t forget.
This is the 3rd book in this phenomenal series and is Miranda and Nick’s story. This is a beautifully written tale which has a tad drama, and is filled with witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and is a sweet, humorous and entertaining read. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend for all readers.
I liked this book. It has the characters from other books in it. I love to see what is happening with them.
Nick is a smart and handsome man. He is hard to get. But not as in, I play with you. He is mysterious. He knows what he wants, but doesn’t know how to achieve it, without losing it in the process.
Miranda is also smart and a successful business woman. She knows what she wants and how to achieve it. But not when it comes to Nick. They have a past, but can they overcome it? Read the book and see for youself. I really liked it.
I received an earc from the author and am leaving an honest review.
Another great story for the King brothers. Funny and sweet Melinda and Nick’s second chance was perfect! Love and Laughter are in abundance in the Anyone But… series. Especially when Cade is on scene. These brothers are so different and extremely swoon-worthy.
Seven years ago three heartbroken girls swore an oath to never, ever date or love a King brother again. Then the King brothers came back. All grown and sexy and richer than ever. But like dominoes, one by one each of these besties fell and fell hard.
Now it’s Miranda’s turn. The one BFF that held to their oath the strongest. She was adamant that they not IGNORE the past or give them the chance to break their hearts again. Good thing Iris and Kira didn’t listen. Now is her chance at a missed opportunity with the guy she strongly connected with in high school. Now her carefully constructed life and perfect image are crumbling at the seams. Which is the perfect time to open up and try life from a different angle.
This second chance for Miranda and Nick was perfect and a great ending to the series. I fell so quickly and so deeply for each of the characters and couldn’t be happier at how it all turned out.
