Cookie James thought she was going to make things right with the island’s hottest handyman when she approached Dylan Creed at his favorite fishing hole. But her attempt at a peace offering doesn’t go so well when it leads to the discovery of a dead body. Even worse, it requires a phone call to the reason Dylan is so aloof with Cookie–FBI agent Hunter O’Neil. When Hunter arrives, he’s quick to … quick to enlist Cookie’s help as he takes the helm of another murder mystery on Secret Seal Isle. Any Way You Bury It
(Secret Seal Isle Mysteries #4)
by Lucy Quinn
Another fun adventure with Cookie and another murder mystery, two hot guys trying to woe her, her hippie 60+ year old mom and friends, and her bff staying at her B&B for a bit. Things get dangerous and exciting. Fun read!
I loved this. There were funny moments and sweet moments with a bit of suspense sprinkled here and there to keep things interesting. The characters are so lovable. I do have to say between the men I am favoring Dylan over Hunter but Hunter has his moments too. I may have to go back and read the earlier books in the series.
great twists and turns!
It was a good comedy.
I hate books that play out like a soap opera … you know, that kind that keeps saying “Continued Next Week.”
Good novels have good plot development and a conclusion.
This doesn’t mean the book can’t be part of a continuing series … a good author doesn’t need to give the reader HALF A PLOT AND NO CONCLUSION just to sell another book.
This one could have been a winner … but the author snapped defeat from the jaws of victory with the NO CONCLUSION ending. I hate that!
Loved it
Its ok but not a page turner.
I enjoyed it. It was fun to read and unusual.
Cookie James, a retired FBI agent, joins her sometimes-boyfriend for a morning of fishing. They find a body weighted down with a cement block dead in the water off Seal Island. The book is filled with interesting characters: Rain, Cookie’s pot smoking hippie mother; Scarlett, Cookie’s best friend who is taking a bteak from her law practice; and Hunter, Cookie’s former partner and wannabe boyfriend, just to name a few. A cozy mystery that’s lots of fun to read.
I really love Cookie she is amazing, such a great character and really who cares about her love life lol she has her job and when dead body after dead body finds Cookie she finds focusing on her job of finding killers a way of avoiding the 2 men who are interested in her.
I like Dylan and Hunter it would be hard to decide between them
I love Cookies Mum she is highly entertaining
this whole series is well-written murder, mayhem, and hilarity.
Why did Cookie leave the FBI?
enjoyed this book for an easy read with some fun in it too
This book could have been excellent off the authors had left out the sex scenes and innuendos. It had the right touch of humor and mystery.
It was unusual, I will say that for it. And, I dislike books that leave you hanging, with no conclusion…..you have to wait for the next book. And, wishy-washy heroines leave me cold.
Get it. Got it. Good! Enough twists and turns to make it really fun.
Has great characters.
For a former FBI agent who is trying to lead a quiet, inconspicuous life on a small island, Cookie James keeps finding bodies. ANY WAY YOU BURY IT is Book 4 in the Secret Seal Isle Mysteries. Cookie, aka Charlie, calls on her former partner to help solve the murder(s). This is a quick, easy, fun read.
I am not a fan of the hippy Mother and her smoked up friends but mystery was delightful.
I enjoy the characters in the book. I like the irony of the adult “child being embarrassed and ashamed by the parent’s actions. I have read 4 of the books in the series so far. They are an enjoyable read for the beach.
Nice little romantic mystery
