I stumbled on Jasmines books by chance after reading Maverick series with Bella Andes. From first book I read I realized I found one of my favorite authors. West Coast series are light hearted, entertaining and memorable. With new book “Anyway She Wants it” Jasmine brought a new side- human vulnerability. Two people who had brief encounter went to look for happiness elsewhere. Both were so effected they never got over it. David is struggling with grief of losing his wife to cancer, but taken with Tricia who is complete opposite to anyone he knew. She shows David that life can be exiting and different and hopes that he accepts it. There are very interesting turns and twists and facing insecurities makes book very touching. Highly recommend to everyone.
Jasmine Haynes has done it again: she has crafted a beautiful novel focused on two mature characters with a history and managed to break and heal her readers’ hearts in turn. With her trademark grace and her smooth prose style, Haynes has given us a story filled with romance, heat, and substance. Haynes always presents her characters as fully fleshed people with flaws, insecurities, and weaknesses, coupled with strength, hope, and (as we always seek in her novels) a deep love of each other that must be coaxed and gently fanned until reaching a satisfying climax. As is her usual style, she alternates viewpoints from chapter to chapter—this is something romance novels do better than any other genre writing out there—giving us a complete (though sometimes frustrating in all the best suspenseful ways!) picture inside the intimate hearts and minds of her two main characters. The setting is atmospheric and believable—a must for a contemporary romance. From the beaches of Hawaii to the glamorous offices of their company, David and Tricia navigate a shared history that has haunted each of them in very different ways—but both have always secretly sought to complete what felt like unfinished business after a brief youthful dalliance. Breaking through to each other’s hearts (Tricia is very reliably more open and ready, as many women are) proves a consuming challenge for both of them and the reader. Seeing a woman taking lead in a relationship is nothing new to Haynes’ writing, however, as her novels universally feature strong women who know what they want and are unafraid to ask for it, whether it be matters of the heart or the bedroom. The delicate dance of getting to know someone again and slowly falling for each other, with all the consequent doubts and fear and hopes and triumphs is written beautifully here. For a satisfying read, look no further that Jasmine Haynes and Any Way she Wants It. (An honest review was provided in exchange for an ARC)
Loved this book! Tricia & David’s story is hot, romantic and almost heartbreaking. There were a few times I wanted to ring David’s neck. There were a few times I found myself tearing up. Tricia is fun, feisty and wants to be accepted for who she is, even her slightly kinky side. David can not let the past go and holds onto guilt that will not let him move on. I adored the chemistry and playfulness between these two. David is so sweet and trying so hard to be what he thinks a widower, father and good man should be. He almost has it right. Tricia helps him see how to be happy with himself, flaws and all.
Jasmine Haynes has a winner in book six of the West Coast series, Any Way She Wants It. I immediately fell in love with widower David Farris. A good, kind, responsible man struggling over the loss of his wife and helping his grown children through their grief at the expense of his own needs.
In walks Tricia Connelly, his sister’s best friend from high school and the sparks fly. Tricia, is a woman who knows what she wants, and she wants David, even though he’s afraid to start living again, and consumed with guilt. But Tricia tempts him to put aside his guilt and start living again.
As David struggles to move forward, there are plenty of sizzling, hot scenes to have you rooting for them all the way to the end. Love this series and can’t wait for the next book.
Before I tell you anything about this book, I should tell you that as soon as I finished reading it, I purchased the first five in the series and haven’t stopped reading yet. I’m actually on the last one and I’m sad because no more words *cries*
So this book …. wow. If you’ve read this author before this then you know she writes kick-ass ballsy heroines, for the most part. That’s what attracted me to her work so many years ago. This is one of the best books I’ve read by her in probably five to eight years. I’m not saying her previous works aren’t good, but this book made shout-out to everyone with earshot! And if I was being honest, I don’t shout-out unless you blow me away and OMG, Tricia! I want to be her when I grow up. That is all. I know she’s a fictional character, but seriously, I wouldn’t mind meeting her. She’s perfect!
So David and Tricia have a little convoluted history..sorta, kinda. They had a moment some 20 years ago. It never left them. It actually defined their future. That part is really hard to tell you about without giving away the plot so I’m leaving it there. They had a moment that ultimately defined their future. Until they met again …. This time around, Tricia was going to get her man no matter what! She was going to do whatever it took to make sure David was hers and it was glorious in its unfolding!
I’m not gonna lie, David was a bit wimpy for me for too long in the book. He just wouldn’t let go of the past and it was grating on my nerves but it didn’t take away from the quality of the story, just from him as a character. I wasn’t really rooting for him, but I was rooting for Tricia 100% of the time! She was such a powerful character. She was empowering.
There are some inconsistencies in David’s character with regards to his deceased wife that I found a little confusing but as I mentioned before, Tricia was the main attraction in this book. It is her journey to empowerment and getting the man she has always loved! Anything to do with David was minor for me LOL
An amazingly raw, emotional and erotic novel by the author who does it best, Jasmine Haynes. I have read many of her books as well as the books that she writes as Jennifer Skully (romantic suspense) and have enjoyed all of them. In this book, we meet David and Tricia who have a history from twenty years ago that has left her yearning for David, while he is still dealing with guilt over his desire for her from that long-ago time. David’s wife died of cancer almost a year ago and he is now working with Tricia at West Coast Manufacturing. Although this book does contain explicit sex scenes (be warned, this book is HOT) the passion is strong and all-consuming for both Tricia and David. Tricia will seduce him with not only her words, but her actions as she tries to convince David to give them a chance. David still desires Tricia, but continues to fight his attraction to her. All of their past pent up emotion and sex scenes makes for an enthralling and sensual read. Not only do we have David and Tricia’s story, but we catch up with several characters from the previous books in the series. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to give an honest review.
OMG! You just have to love Jasmine’s stories. This time we visit David and Tricia. You can feel the love she has harbored for him for over 20 years and the path she took to try to follow his advice. David has so much guilt he has carried for 20 years and is just not sure how to let it go. The love between these two is so strong and intense but moving toward forever is not very easy for them. Hot sex mixed with a love story all mixed in with an awesome story line.
