The first book in a new rom com series by Denise Grover Swank, the author of the New York Times bestselling series, the Wedding Pact, and A.R. Casella.
Georgie Buchanan doesn’t know the first thing about running a brewery—she doesn’t even like beer—so she’s thrown when her grandfather leaves his business to her and her three siblings. Selling Buchanan Brewery would be the prudent approach, and … approach, and while Georgie is, first and foremost, a businesswoman, keeping it might be her best chance of connecting with her half-brother, Jack. But she quickly learns that what she thought was a fixer-upper is a money pit, the employees are all eccentric to the extreme, and her inheritance comes with a shocking catch. Her one hope for success lies with River Reeves, the handsome brewmaster who learned at her grandfather’s feet…if she can avoid falling for him.
After learning his best friend and boss is selling the brewery they built together to a soulless corporation, River quits on the spot, only for Georgie Buchanan to offer him a job the very same night. Helping her turn Buchanan Brewery around is his dream job, the perfect homage to the man who taught him everything and helped give him roots. There’s one problem: his new boss is his dream woman, and she’s not the type to mix business and pleasure. Balancing a new job, a new puppy, and a growing infatuation with his boss, River knows something has to give.
If Georgie has any luck at all, she’ll be able to turn Buchanan Brewery around without losing her mind or her heart. But as River helps her weather everything from her uncle’s possessed cat to a séance, she realizes she might be wishing for the wrong kind of luck.

Any Luck at all is a good fresh story. The characters both the human and furry are great and entertaining. I love that the storyline has many layers. The other aspect of the book that I love is that the turmoil isn’t drawn out to great lengths. The book held my interest the entire time
I love to read Denise’s books. Her new co-writer is a great new twist. I really like how this book flowed with both writers.
I love everything about this one. Asheville NC is right down the road from my house so I also like that I can see that she put the work in to making this book seem like I was there.
Georgie and River are great together. You don’t know what they are going to get into with everything they have going on. The romancing…WOW. They had some heat. I was all for them to be a team.
Georgie’s family. Like all of them you have your good and bad. The people you want to see in this books make great comedy. Everyone will love Dottie. She has you laughing after you are done reading the book.
The end makes you feel like you accomplished everything with them. I think that it also has a few moments that make you realize that you can do things if you have the will to get it done.
This book was one you want to stay up all night and read. I haven’t done that in awhile. I am happy that Denise and A.R have started writing this series. I can’t wait for the next book.
The perfect balance
Ohh I love this new romantic comedy series from Denise Grover Swank and A.R. Casella!
I adore the main characters in this book. Georgie and River are the perfect couple. They compliment each other very well. The twists and turns just added the right amount of angst-in a good way of course for the reader. I laughed out loud so many times while reading this book! It was such a refreshing book to read, and exactly what I needed. Aunt Dottie is the best!! A lot of the times I was laughing due to her antics and quirkiness! Can’t forget about Jezebel.
This book truly has a perfect balance of romance and comedy. I highly recommend it.
This is the first book in a new series by DGS and A.R. Casella. It was a good first book that delved into the story line of the series, the characters that we will meet, and leaves the reader wanting more. In this book we meet the Buchanan family who has just learned that their late grandfather has left his brewery and estate to his grandchildren. There are some stipulations that come with taking over the brewery and it leaves the oldest Buchanan grandchild, Georgie, questioning whether or not it was a good decision to keep the brewery in the family, especially when she realizes she has a major crush on her new employee!
The town of Asheville, NC reminds me of Lucy Score’s “Blue Moon” Series. It’s filled with some very eclectic characters that are sure to make you laugh! Dottie, Josie, Lurch, Jezebel….just to name a few. 😉 Fans of DGS and Lucy Score will fall in love with these characters and this town and you’ll find a new author to “stalk” in A.R. Casella. I can’t wait to see what happens in the rest of the series and with the rest of the Buchanan grandchildren.
A new romance is brewing in Asheville, NC! Fans of Denise Grover Swank will not be disappointed in this new series co-written by Denise and AR Casella.
When Georgie Buchanan and her siblings inherit their estranged grandfathers brewery, they must decide if they want to run the business or sell. Georgie is a tenacious business woman who is up for the challenge of turning around the faltering Buchanan Brewery. However, while she knows the business world, she doesn’t know anything about beer. She hires River, who just happened to learn his brewing techniques from her grandfather. The attraction between Georgie and River is strong, but quite a few obstacles stand in the couples way. My favorite part is the cast of diverse and eclectic characters that drew me into the Asheville Brewery world. I had so much fun laughing at the antics of Dottie, Josie and Lurch. I recommend this book for fans of Kristan Higgins’ Blue Heron Series and anyone who enjoys romance with great characters and lots of humor.
This is such a fun book. The authors give us plenty of laughs and a little bit of heartbreak in this one. This is my first book by these authors and I am excited to read the rest of the series.
A family inherits a brewery. Not all on board as to selling, chief shareholder hires major
Beer brewer and they fall in love. In end family comes together. Good clean story.
One of the best RomCom I’ve read ever! River and Georgie are so sweet and definitely so cute together!!! The Buchanan Siblings are so different and so alike at the same time. So excited to meet the family, and the extended too, I’m referring to Dottie and Jezabel obviously. I’m excited to keep reading Asheville Brewing Serie Addy and Finn are Next!!!
4.5 Pick Your Crystal Stars. Well, color me happy! The cover of this book caught my eye first, then I read the blurb and became even more interested. If you’re looking for a rom-com with a little extra this one is for you. There is plenty of comedy (thanks, Aunt Dottie!) peppered into the story. Sometimes in subtle ways and sometimes in your face. Lies, deceit, secrets, hidden agendas, the need to control (people and situations), seances, speaking from the grave….there something for everyone in Any Luck at All. Heck, there’s even a life-size statue that plays a prominent role. I’d like to say that all of the characters are wonderful, but really that’s only true for a few of them. I’m hopeful the others will come around as this series goes along. While River and Georgie are the main characters, they are sometimes upstaged by Aunt Dottie. She is a force to be reckoned with, for sure. Any Luck at All is entertaining and intriguing. It’s definitely worth your time!
This book had me laughing at loud at the zany characters and their close-knit community. Kind of made me want to live there. Creative idea for a series which I waited for each release with excitement. Loved this series and am looking forward to the spin-off series.
Casella and Grover Swank deliver a funny, heartfelt romance to fans of the contemporary romance genre. Well drawn characters and lots of dysfunctional family drama lead to the happily ever afters for this group of siblings. I highly recommend this series and this book.
Great book, first of a series. I enjoyed this book so much! Great plot with a dose of romance.
Great book!!
This is the first book in this series about the Buchanan family and the Buchanan Brewery in Asheville, North Carolina. It is a wonderful story full of friendship, family, quirky characters, drama, silliness, misunderstandings, and love. Georgie, one of the Buchanan siblings, has unexpectedly inherited the Buchanan Brewery from her grandfather. Her grandfather did not leave his house and brewery to Georgie’s father, instead leaving it to Georgie and her three siblings, one of which was a secret half-brother. Georgie, has just sold her famine products company for multi-millions and needs a new project. So she and her half-brother, Jack, decide they will try to run the brewery rather than sell it once they meet River, a talented brewmaster who just lost his job when his best friend sold out Fresh Catch, another local brewery, to a corporation. River and Georgie are drawn to one another but there are stipulations in the will that overshadow their fledgling relationship. On their way to their happily ever after, while trying to get Buchanan Brewery remodeled and reopened, River and Georgie have to balance their employee/boss relationship along with a no-fraternization clause, deal with evolving and shifting family relationships, and move past each of their trust issues. One of the best parts of this book is the quirky side characters and a scary cat. Rather than being overwhelming or detracting from the main love story, these secondary characters are central to the main love story and to the heart of what makes the story so wonderful. With Any Luck At All, Denise Grover Swank again proves she’s a master storyteller of sweet romances full of lovable characters with just a touch of angst. I am excited to read what’s next for the Buchanan siblings and their brewery.
I loved the characters in this book. Dottie was a little crazy but full of love for all the other characters. I could see that Georgie really wanted a connection to family that she wasn’t getting from her father and siblings but found with her grandfather. Taking over the brewery helped keep that connection after her grandfather died. Couldn’t wait for the next book.
What a way to start a series! This romcom was fun and sizzling from the very beginning and never slowed down. It got my blood pumping, made me smile big, and had me falling in love with Georgie and River at every frothy turn! Joy Nash did a great job narrating this delightful romcom and bringing it to life. She easily brought out all the different quirky personalities, nailing these characters, and making me feel all their fun, awkward, emotional, and steamy moments. This is my first experience with both this narrator and author and I would love to listen to more of their work.
This is a good book with a not so common plot. The whole brewery side makes it different and enjoyable
I loved this story! Georgie and her siblings inherit the family brewery and none of them know what they are doing. Georgie did connect and bond with her grandfather before he passed away and, believe it or not, she wants to give the brewery a shot.
But she desperately needs River’s help—he really knows the business—and is the only one who can turn it around. But….. no mixing business with pleasure, right? That’s when the fun begins! The chemistry between Georgie and River is fireworks! And the fun is watching them trying to NOT light the match that will set the fireworks off.
There is also a huge, wonderful, zany cast of characters that kept me in stiches throughout the whole book. Oh, if only we all had friends like these! Some of the situations they got themselves into made me laugh out loud.
Book #2, Better Luck Next Time, comes out on November 17th and I can’t wait to go back and visit everyone again and see what they are all up to now.
I love love love this book
I adored “Any Luck at All” by Denise Grover Swank and A.R. Casella, a laugh-out-loud funny, sweet, and heartwarming story featuring likeable, well-developed characters and an engaging plot. Main characters Georgie Buchanan and River Reeves had fantastic chemistry from the start, and it was very easy for me to root for them to overcome the obstacles standing in their way so that they could be together.
There were a lot of different family dynamics explored in this story, some involving the Buchanan siblings and their father and others involving River, his relationship with the late Beau Buchanan (Georgie’s grandfather), and his Aunt Dottie. I’m a big fan of “found family” stories, and River certainly found his in Asheville with Beau and Dottie. Georgie and her siblings Lee and Adalia had quite a bit to work through as they met their brother Jack for the first time, in addition to unexpectedly inheriting their grandfather’s brewery. It will be very interesting to see how the siblings’ relationship evolves over the course of this series.
I really enjoyed all of the book’s lovable, quirky secondary characters, who added a tremendous amount of depth and humor to the story. My favorite was River’s Aunt Dottie with all of her New Age interests, especially the crystals, some of which were rather interestingly shaped. I also got a laugh out of Beau’s attorney during the will reading because I couldn’t help picturing him as Ted from “Scrubs”; there was just so much flop sweat! There were several hilarious animals in this story as well, particularly Jezebel the devil cat and Hops the puppy, who was engaged in a doomed love affair with a sandal.
Overall, I highly recommend this book for all fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the series!
