The first book in a new rom com series by Denise Grover Swank, the author of the New York Times bestselling series, the Wedding Pact, and A.R. Casella.
Georgie Buchanan doesn’t know the first thing about running a brewery—she doesn’t even like beer—so she’s thrown when her grandfather leaves his business to her and her three siblings. Selling Buchanan Brewery would be the prudent approach, and … approach, and while Georgie is, first and foremost, a businesswoman, keeping it might be her best chance of connecting with her half-brother, Jack. But she quickly learns that what she thought was a fixer-upper is a money pit, the employees are all eccentric to the extreme, and her inheritance comes with a shocking catch. Her one hope for success lies with River Reeves, the handsome brewmaster who learned at her grandfather’s feet…if she can avoid falling for him.
After learning his best friend and boss is selling the brewery they built together to a soulless corporation, River quits on the spot, only for Georgie Buchanan to offer him a job the very same night. Helping her turn Buchanan Brewery around is his dream job, the perfect homage to the man who taught him everything and helped give him roots. There’s one problem: his new boss is his dream woman, and she’s not the type to mix business and pleasure. Balancing a new job, a new puppy, and a growing infatuation with his boss, River knows something has to give.
If Georgie has any luck at all, she’ll be able to turn Buchanan Brewery around without losing her mind or her heart. But as River helps her weather everything from her uncle’s possessed cat to a séance, she realizes she might be wishing for the wrong kind of luck.

I loved this book! It’s my first A.R. Casella book but it won’t be my last. I loved the premise of the brewery even though I’m not a beer person. The characters were wonderfully written, Georgie and River were well rounded and great characters, the side characters were also very thought out and lovable. Lots of humor, just a great Romantic Comedy! Quirky, small town feel and laugh out loud moments fill this book!
A new series by Denise Grover Swank and A.R.Casella, and it is everything I have come to expect from Denise ( Angela is new author to me so no expectations..yet). I don’t know how exactly the collaboration worked. Were certain chapters written by one author and the others were written by the other author? Or perhaps they wrote together, each contributing their thoughts on a scene. In the end it really doesn’t matter how it was done, it maters only that in this case it was masterfully done! Collaborations can be tricky, but ” Any Luck at All” is seamlessly well written. Some of the scenes had me in tears as I remembered some of my own heart breaks and struggles with love. Other scenes had me rolling on the floor laughing as the quirky residents of Asheville came to life in the pages of this novel. I can easily picture the Buchanan Brewery, a landmark of Asheville. Truly a mark of an excellent writer is the ability to make the story come alive, the characters believable and to submerge the reader in the fictional world. Denise Grover Swank and A. R. Casella have done that with “Any Luck at All ” Bravo! Well done! I expect you have another bestseller. I have already pre-ordered Book 2 and I am anxiously waiting to see what else his happening at Asheville Brewing!
What a different read from Denise! I was super intrigued to read this new book by Denise in collaboration with A.R. Casella (an author I’m new to) because it’s so different from the other books I’ve read from her! This one was an interesting read, and I’m eager to read the second installment as to get a better idea of the style of writing and flow of the plot. Georgie comes from a family where she was never good enough in her father’s eyes simply because she is a girl. When her grandfather dies and it comes out that she and her siblings have inherited his brewery, Georgie takes it as a sign and urges her siblings to let her take on the adventure without even liking beer herself! Through all this she meets River, who was good friends with Georgie’s grandfather through his girlfriend and River’s grandmother. River is somewhat of the protégé, and is willing to help Georgie with keeping the brewery up and running in memory of her grandfather. But when more details about her grandfather’s will relate to River, it makes things a bit complicated. Can’t wait for the next installment in this series to find out if the business makes it!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Really enjoyed this laugh out loud, sexy, fun and emotional journey filled with exciting charters, engaging dialog, heart racing twists, exciting turns and undeniable passion….. great reading! This story was so hard to put down from beginning to end and I am looking forward to what happens with the next sibling.
I like the story line. Siblings inherit a brewery from a pretty much unknown grandfather. However the story just didn’t hold my interest.
Thank you to A.R. Casella and Denise Grover Swank for the complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed Any Luck at All by A.R. Casella and Denise Grover Swank. In the book Georgie Buchanan unexpectedly inherits a brewing company from her grandfather. The catch is she has to run it with her three siblings. She ends up finding help from River Reeves, a brewmaster who learned everything he knows from her grandfather.
I thought the book was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the insight into the beer making process. The authors also have some absolutely hilarious characters working at the brewery. There are so many seriously laugh out loud moments. I also enjoyed the basic premise of this very dysfunctional family trying to work together to build an award winning brewery.
I would recommend this book to romance lovers that like a little humor. If you are a fan of beer you’ll love this one. The book is a closed door romance but there is enough sexual tension to keep things interesting.
Long story short – I loved the book and I can’t wait for the next installments in the Asheville Brewing series.
This was just middle of the road for me. The writing wasn’t horrible, but it didn’t flow like I would have liked, and I didn’t get immersed in the story. The stuff that happens to Georgie and River was funny at times, and other times was just over the top. Georgie’s siblings were not nice people, and it was annoying that Georgie kept letting them get to her. River’s friends were kind of crappy too, and it was annoying that he was so blind to Maisie’s feelings for him. This book is what I consider to be a clean read, and there is no steam to speak of. I was skimming by 70%, and the only thing I was looking for was to see how long it took River and Georgie to get over their hang ups. The ending was sweet, and they do get their HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
Just what I needed! This book was so lighthearted, funny, sweet, and REFRESHING!! The characters are believable and fun. Perfect recipe of characters, romance, wit, storyline, and comedy! Cheers! Good to the last…. WORD.
Great start for a promising new series.
It’s been a few years since I last read a book by Denise Grover Swank, so, Any Luck at all was a great re-introduction to her, and her fellow (debut) author, A.R. Casella.
These two have a penned a seamless story, it’s impossible to tell who has written which parts. It’s a lovely warm-hearted rom-com, full of sassy banter and lingering touches between Georgie and River.
Georgie’s one of four children and who came to Asheville for their grandfather’s will reading. Georgie discovers he has left his brewery to her and her siblings.
Georgie knows business, but she doesn’t know beer. Thankfully, River does… and he’s in need of a new job.
Can these two work together without giving in to their feelings??
River was a sweet, sexy guy and had a lot of heart and a very dreamy sweet side. Georgie had tons of gumption and a get-up-and-go demeanor. She was fun and hard working. Add in some cute pets and a crazy cat and you can’t go far wrong.
I loved how these two grew on me along with the story and I’m looking forward to the next installment.
This debut by A. R. Casella and veteran author extraodinaire Denise Grover Swank really hit the spot. It’s been great to get back into the light and humorous side. I loved all the characters, even the furry ones. It has everything you’re looking for in a feel good romance with just enough hilarious comedy in all the right places. They both really knocked it out of the park! I’m excited for the rest of the series.
I absolutely loved this book. It was funny, and a light-hearted read just what I needed. This is my first read from both authors too and I really enjoyed it. Not only were Georgie and River are great characters, but the side characters are also amazing. I guarantee you, pick this up and you’ll laugh the whole time.
If you need a good and funny rom-com with lots of witty banter and amazing chemistry, then pick this one up!
Any Luck at All is book one in the brand new Ashville Brewing series by Denise Grover Swank and A.R. Casella. I first noticed this cover, it caught my eye right away. Once I read the blurb, I was all in! Each book in this series will focus on one of the four Buchanan siblings, Georgie, Adalia, Lee and Jack. Each one of these four intrigues me, all obviously have such a story to tell. First up is Georgie and I can honestly say that I fell so in love with her.
Georgie Buchanan is thirty three years old. She was raised by a cold hearted, controlling father. Georgie and her siblings never were allowed to get to know their grandfather, Beau Buchanan, but just a few months ago, Georgie had managed to visit him in Ashville and they got to know each other. Georgie was also able to tour the brewery her grandfather had founded and run his entire life. Now, her grandfather has unexpectedly passed. While everyone assumed the brewery and house would all go to Georgie’s father, Beau’s son, it didn’t. Everything was left to the four kids. Georgie felt such a connection with her grandfather and she wants this chance to honor him and run the brewery. Even if she doesn’t know a single thing about beer. Personally, she prefers wine! But it feels like it’s the right thing to do.
River Reeves is thirty years old and is unexpectedly out of a job. He learned everything there is to know about making beer from Beau Buchanan who was a mentor to him. Losing him was painful. But when he saw Beau’s granddaughter at the will reading, he felt it immediately, a pull to her. As the shock of inheriting the brewery wore off, it was obvious they needed a brewmaster and River needed a job. Was it all coincidence, or could it be fate?
“For the first time in her life, Georgie had found a man she was sure she could love.”
The connection between Georgie and River was immediate and strong. Something neither of them had ever felt before. But Georgie is now River’s boss. The brewery has been floundering for some time. Everything needs updating. Georgie also feels the stress of proving she was right in taking over the business instead of selling it off. Their relationship will have to remain professional only. Except that she feels like she might be missing out on the love of a lifetime.
“River liked her just the way she was. It wasn’t safety she craved from him, it was peace.”
This book is the perfect mix of hilarity and sweet. Wait until you meet Aunt Dottie and her crystals. She is hilarious but also, so intuitive. She always seems to know just what to do. And there are countless other eccentric residents who make this so much fun. But there is also so much heart. Both Georgie and River have had childhoods lacking in love. Despite it all, they both grew into adults with so much to give. River is pretty much perfect as Georgie often tells him. And Georgie tries so hard to be strong. I loved watching her fall in love.
If you want a book that will make you smile, giggle, sigh and maybe even swoon, this is for you. I feel like I should say here, that there aren’t any steamy scenes in this. It’s more of a fade to black. Usually I prefer a book to be a little steamy. But for this, I didn’t miss it at all. I can’t wait for the next book, Better Luck Next Time, which will be Adalia’s turn.
“Two people who fit like this? It was kismet. And that didn’t come along more than once in a lifetime.”
Georgie and her siblings have just unexpectedly inherited a brewery from their estranged grandpa. The rest of them want to sell it, but she’s adamant about keeping it and her grandpa’s legacy. Can the gorgeous River be her brewing guide? Well, why not? He learned from her grandpa, and he needs a job. No problem. Well, except for the pesky little problem that now she’s his boss…
This is a cute, sweet start to a new series, all centered around the inherited brewery. Georgie and River are an awesome couple, and River made the entire story for me with his sweet, down to earth personality. Can’t wait for more of the Asheville Brewing stories.
4.5 stars for this witty romcom with heart.
This is going to be a FUN series. This series will follow all the Buchanan siblings as they traverse life and love. First up is Georgie and River and it’s hard to believe that I’ll love the other couples more. These two have chemistry from the get go.
It starts with an incredibly awkward will reading after the departure of Georgie’s grandfather, Beau. You meet the three siblings’ half-brother, find out the will has recently been changed and Georgie instantly connects with River from afar.
Then fate intervenes along with Aunt Dottie and her crystals along the way and these two mix business and hopefully pleasure. Watching them fall and fight it was a push/pull that will bring some brief pain and tears.
This was a great story with humor galore. Can’t wait for the rest to fall!! And there’s lots of beer – so something for everyone!
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
Swank and Casella are the sweetest blend of addiction. Any Luck at All teases with laughter and tempts with heart. Georgie and River tug deep at emotions sometimes forgotten, to get at our vulnerable side. With a sense of humor that won’t quit and a spicy connection that keeps getting better, I’d say the Asheville Brewery series is off to an intoxicating start.
This is the 1st in a new series and what a brilliant beginning this story is. Georgie and her siblings inherited ad brewing company from their grandfather, and none of them have a clue how to run it. Georgie approaches River who is a brew-master who was taught all his brewing techniques by her grandfather, and he jumps at the chance to help turn this into a successful business once again. These two are attracted to each other and the chemistry is intense and undeniable. This dynamic duo of authors has done an amazing job in penning this tale which is a fun and humorous read. I look forward to reading more from these author’s whose work I highly recommend for all.
I just loved this new rom com series. You could feel the sparks between Georgie & River. When Georgie takes over the brewery left by her grandfather. The fun just begins for her & River. I loved the playfulness. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Holy Crazy Hijinks. This is a new Rom Com series by one of my favorite authors Denise Grover Swank and A.R. Casella. Meet Georgie, Addy, and Lee Buchanan and their unknown brother Jack. They are all in for a shock when they go to the reading of their grandfather’s will.
Not only do they inherit Beau’s failing brewery, but that comes with a town full of crazy, quirky characters I fell in love with immediately. I can’t remember the last time I laughed out loud so much in a book. It definitely won’t disappoint, from the beer names to the craziness they endure at the hands of Aunt Dottie, Josie, and my favorite feline book character ever, Jezebel (the name is definitely fitting).
I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a good romance while laughing through almost every scenario. I will for sure be checking out more of A.R. Casella’s books and I can’t wait book 2 and more fun in Asheville with the gang at the Buchanan Brewery.
Read this book! You won’t be sorry!
What a great start to what I believe is going to be a fabulous series by DGS and her new co author. This first book sets up most of the storyline for the series set in Asheville NC and centres on Georgie and River. Georgie’s grandfather has left his four grandchildren his brewery and it’s Georgie who wants to make a go of it and turn the brewery into something special again. She needs help from her siblings but more importantly, she needs River’s guidance and know how on crafting beer. Of course, with any DGS rom-com there is a lot of humor and goofy moments with will have you giggling along the way. This first book has all of the above, but also a sweet and insta love story between Georgie and River, who was so swoony. There’s an adorable dog, and a wacky cat that gets up to mischief. If you are looking for a fun and lighthearted read, grab this one, you can’t go wrong.
