He’s known as Father Anton to his teammates—the brooding, sexy captain of the NHL’s Chicago Blaze has a reputation for…not having a reputation. Just like his diet and sleep routines, celibacy is part of Anton Petrov’s on-ice mojo. Or so they say. Anton stays mum on the subject. If the world thinks he chooses to abstain from sex, so be it. Better that than the truth getting out: there is a woman … woman he burns for, but he can never have her. She’s his teammate’s wife, after all.
Mia Marceau is finally on her own. Now that she and her husband are living apart, she’s finding the peace she was desperate for. She spends her days in classes and late nights bartending, making her own way in the world at last. After what she’s been through, as long as her husband leaves her alone, she doesn’t plan to rock the boat. He still has the power to hurt those dearest to her, and she can’t demand a divorce with such a high cost.
A chance encounter with Mia has Anton hoping for a shot he never thought he’d get. And while she’s drawn to the intense, serious hockey center, Mia’s leery about playing with fire. That’s all Anton has ever known for Mia, though—a living, burning desire that won’t be denied—no matter the cost.

Anton the Captain of the Chicago Blaze has had feelings for Mia for awhile. Problem she’s married to his teammate. So when he sees her tending bar are the Lucky 7 he is shocked and wants to know what’s going on. Little that he knows it’s worse then he ever thought. Can Mia trust him and can she can take care of her ailing grandfather and herself. This is a excellent book and there are several emotional moments that are handled beautifully.
This is a very emotional book. Anton is such an honorable man who is reliable and caring. I admired him that even though he fell in love with his team player’s wife Mia, he wouldn’t do anything about it unless she was divorced. I hated how Mia’s husband Adam emotionally abused her. She is really a strong woman who has gone through a lot, but believed the horrible things her husband said about her. I loved how Anton kept trying to help and take care of Mia as a friend. He was good at thinking out of the box on how to help her financially. I loved his Uncle Dix that was such a character that Anton couldn’t keep a nurse around to help him. I loved how Mia went about gaining his respect. Mia’s husband Adam was not a good person at all. I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to beat him up! I loved the book, and strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.
The first book in Brenda Rothert’s Chicago Blaze series Anton is an emotional rollercoaster that was hard to put down. This also happened to be the first book I’ve read by Author Brenda Rothert and will not be my last.
First off, this book involves several elements that may be a tough read to some readers. The female character Mia Marceau has separated from her jerk husband, Adam, who has and continues to put her through emotional (mental) abuse after she leaves him. She’s trying to live her life before she met the abusive husband who happens to be a hockey player on the Chicago Blaze team. (He’s several other things, but readers should read the story to find out more about this jerk of a character.) She’s working at a bar at night and is now renting a room. She’s trying to become happy again.
Anton who is a very honorable and loving man would do anything for Mia, but knows she’s off limits since she’s married to his teammate on the Chicago Blaze team. He’s been in love with Mia since the moment he met her after he came to the Chicago Blaze team. Anton’s nicknamed Father Anton since he’s not like any of the other players and he’s the Captain of the Chicago Blaze team. He doesn’t have a bad reputation at all. He’s what I would consider the perfect guy due to how he treats himself (health wise), his Uncle Dix (even though Uncle Dix has gone through so many nurses with his crazy antics), and many others in his life, especially now Mia. Anton comes across Mia one evening working at a bar, and now he’s wondering what is going on and how he can help her. Mia though is one stubborn woman, but she has every reason to be. Her jerk of a husband is not making it easy for her.
I don’t want to give anything away in the story because this was a great book to read and I had a hard putting it down. Mia is a beautiful, smart woman and I adored her in this book, but I questioned how she put up with her husband for so long and still was putting up with him. I understood why she did it though. She’s a very caring person who is doing everything she can to make sure her grandfather is taken care of in the nursing home since he has Alzheimer’s. She let a man degrade her, and she needed someone to let her know how she should be treated. Anton was a character I fell immediately hard for due to his personality and how he cared for Mia. He didn’t push her at first. He wanted to show her he was a friend there to help.
Let’s not forget about the other characters in the story too. I loved Uncle Dix in the story. He was a riot, and he met his match when he met Mia in the story. I also enjoyed meeting the other hockey players in the first book too. Each one has their personalities, especially Anton’s fraternal twin brother. Let’s say he is opposite of Anton.
Overall, I give this book 4.5 stars and highly recommend it to readers that love reading sports themed Contemporary Romance books. Don’t worry there are scenes of hockey playing with the Chicago Blaze teammates. You’ll find out how great Anton is on the ice and how amazing he is in bed too. This book is all about the drama and emotions before the romantic scenes though, which is something I enjoyed about this book. You get to know the characters and their stories and how they finally get their HEA.
Shame on me. I actually sat down to write my review the morning after finishing it and…well…I kinda lost the review. I’m not sure where I saved it so we’re starting from scratch!
I loved Anton. He was awesome. He was alpha, protective and just all around great. I honestly wish that I could find a real life Anton for myself.
I loved how committed he was to Mia, even though they couldn’t be together. And I don’t mean that in a creepy way, or that he was hanging on…but he didn’t subscribe to the man-slut philosophy of “I’ll sleep with everyone under the sun until I stop wanting the one person I can’t have.” … and while there’s nothing wrong with characters that do that, it was just a refreshing change.
And once he saw Mia again, he wasn’t about to let her go. Even if it meant they were just friends. And that was awesome. Because yes, he had feelings, he wanted to be with her. But he also knew that that’s not what she needed and he was ok with just being her friend. And when he found out the crap her husband was putting her through….Let’s just say Anton is definitely one of my favorite protective heroes of all time.
I was kind of torn on Anton’s brother. On one hand, I really want to know more but at the same time…well, let’s just say that one of the reasons I loved Anton…his brother was the exact opposite and his attitude left a lot to be desired.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Brenda Rothert is one of those authors that when you pick up her books, you know you’re in for a great story with some awesome characters!
Anton wasn’t really what I was expecting when I started reading, but this one took me by surprise. Mia has a rough start at the beginning and is not in a good place but it gets so much better for her by the end. Anton and Mia are awesome together and there are a couple of side relationships in this book that really got to me and were very touching and special.
A great beginning to Brenda Rothert’s newest series and I am super excited to read the next book and I’m hoping that it will have Luca, one of my favorite of Anton’s teammates in it 🙂
I LOVE a good sports romance, especially a hockey romance. Anton by Brenda Rothert was everything I LOVE in a sports romance!
Anton and Mia’s relationship is a slow burn. Mia has been hurt, terribly. And Anton wants to show her what real love looks and feels like.
Mia doesn’t want to get to involved with Anton because he’s on the same team as her @$$hole husband. And she doesn’t want trouble. But Anton doesn’t care about that. He wants to make Mia feel loved.
I love a good slow burn, a book that builds up from a slight simmer to smoking hot, but it’s slow! I absolutely love that! The storyline perfectly written, characters you will love!
This story was beautifully written. Ms Rothert has started this series off on a bang! I can’t wait for the series to continue!
Great characters, great story, lots of emotions
I’ve been a fan of this author for a while now, plus one of my favorite genres is hockey stories, so I was excited to read this book in her new hockey series.
I was quickly invested in these characters; not only Mia and Anton, but some of Anton’s teammates as well—I want Luca’s story like, yesterday! And if any character ever needed a throat punch, it’s that douche of a husband of Mia’s (note they’re separated). My heart hurt for Mia and all she’d gone through and I loved her spirit and independence, while I loved Anton’s dedication and protectiveness. I was cheering for them both from the very first and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see them get their hea.
Great characters, great story, lots of emotions and a great start to the new series. I’m so glad Luca’s story is up next and also that Anton’s brother will be getting his own story. 5+ stars.

I am a fairly new reader to Brenda Rothert, but she has made me a fan! She has unique storylines and great characters, both stay with me long after I have read the last page.
Anton and Mia know each other. After all, she is married to his teammate, Adam. Anton is the direct opposite of Adam…responsible and sweet. He takes his job as captain seriously. His biggest vice is he is in love with Mia, and he can never have her. He doesn’t mess around with other men’s wives.
Anton has no idea that Mia has left Adam, and she is finally on the brink of having her independence from her cheating, abusive husband. One innocent, chance encounter between these two will possibly give them a chance at happiness, but it definitely won’t be an easy road.
Please know this isn’t a novel about cheating. Anton and Mia have too much integrity for that. The two develop a friendship which is huge for Mia. She doesn’t trust easily after enduring years with Adam. Anton is everything Adam isn’t. He epitomizes “warmth, love, and joy.” He loves his family, and he is so patient with Mia. He also becomes her biggest champion. Mia doesn’t believe in herself much anymore. She is fierce, sassy, and trying to gain her independence again. Anton helps her find that belief in herself again. Like Anton, she is loyal and loving. She spreads joy to those around her, especially Anton’s grumpy but loveable Uncle Dix.
If you are expecting a normal hockey romance, this one isn’t. It is much better!!!! There is definitely chemistry between both of them, but it isn’t the foundation of the story. The foundation of the book revolves around love…love between a couple, love of family, love of friendship, and love for your fellow man!!!! Rothert continues to amaze me with her storytelling ability. It’s somewhat outside of the box, and I LOVE it!!!
I can’t wait to get stories from the other guys, especially Anton’s twin brother. I hope Mia’s friend, Anita, will get her HEA too!!!!
Anton Petrov is a dreamboat on ice. This uber lovable captain of the Chicago Blaze has long harbored a crush on a teammates wife and for two years has remained steadfastly loyal to her, she just doesn’t know it. Heck no one can know because its just not the kind of thing an honorable man like him wants anyone finding out. It’s not until he discovers the object of his affections, Mia, is working at a bar after having left her abusive husband that Anton fesses up. And thus begins this slow-burn love story between Anton and Mia Marceau.
As if the juxtaposition between Anton kindness and the her cheating husband Adam wasn’t enough, Anton captures her heart by the sheer force of his being. Mia’s spent too long being beaten down by Adam and has some recovery to do, but she follows her instincts and allows Anton in. The pace of the story was perfect and Rothert develops a compelling case for Mia to fall in love with Anton. He’s the polar opposite of her husband Adam, he’s generous and kind and as the friendship between them develops Anton shows how deep his need to protect Mia runs.
I loved the way that Anton and Mia came together and the bond they formed. The story is bolstered by a cast of secondary characters that help drive the connection between them; his uncle Dix who gives Anton the pretext to help Mia, her roommate Anita and her son Dre, and Anton’s twin Alexei (whose story comes next in this series and I simply can’t wait for.)
This is the first book by Brenda Rothert that I’ve read and with this one book I proudly call myself a fan. Yowza, she clearly she knows how to pick a cover is this is one of my favorite this year. I highly recommend this gem of a hockey romance read.
Brenda Rothert ANTON is an excellent start to the Chicago Blaze series. Anton Petrov is captain of the NHL’s Chicago Blaze. He is the poster boy for perfect behavior. He has secretly been lusting over his team mates’ wife, Mia Marceau. When he discovers that the two are separated, he finds it hard to resist her.
I like Anton. He works hard. He always felt that he had to maintain a strict diet and workout routine to keep up with his naturally talented twin brother, Alexei, who is also in the NHL. He has a good heart, and he is patient. I love that he takes care of his biological and billet family.
I like that Mia is a strong heroine who got out of an abusive marriage. As a result, her self-confidence has taken a hit. I appreciate that she regains her confidence throughout this story because of the things that take place. I love how Mia interacts with Anton’s uncle Dix.
ANTON is a skillfully written and heartwarming read. There are relevant and believable obstacles that the characters face. This book sets an excellent foundation to the Chicago Blaze series. I look forward to the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
The first book in a new hockey romance series from Brenda Rothert, Anton is a great start to what I hope will turn into a series full of heart and steam. This is my first book by Brenda and I truly enjoyed it. There are a lot of emotional moments in this book and I won’t get into them because I think it would take away from your enjoyment, but what I will say is don’t go into this thinking its a fluff read about easy going hockey dudes and the girls they fall in love with. There is so me real pain and hurt that goes hand in had with this story and it just made it all that much of a better read.
I loved Mia, the heroine. She has basically being pulling herself up all her life and when things get bad she doesn’t shy away from hard work, she doesn’t shy away from doing her very best for those she loves and cares for. It’s upsetting some of what she does but if the choices she is given are all she has not one person can fault her for what she does. The only thing I could have wished from her was due to something that happened toward the end of the book and me just wishing she had fought back a llittle harder against people with bad attitudes.
‘Father’ Anton, true to his nickname. He’s really just a great guy. I loved how sweet he was, how he wasn’t the typical alpha hockey player guy you might expect, but instead a man who is always fighting for his place, by being his best, and who is truly all heart. I loved that going into this he had become the man he is because of Mia, that she knew nothing about his motivations but that he knew no other woman would be who he wanted or needed I loved his patience and his kindness.
One thing I will say, and this will just take a little digging on my part that I haven’t done at this point, is there was the slight feeling that this was perhaps a spin-off series. It is most definitely a stand-alone, but at the same time I felt like I should already know some of these characters we meet in the story. It doesn’t in the end take anything away but just leaves a little feeling of ‘should I know this person’.
I am really looking forward to more in this series, with Vic and Luc ( I am loving how there stories are already being laid out) and then most definitely Alexei, that one is going to be a wild ride of a book I think. This is going to be a great series to follow. Anton is a quick read that will have you happily, even when you’re shedding a tear or two, turning pages and rooting for the couple and a few of the secondary characters. And you ‘guys’ Uncle Dix! You are going to be laughing out loud, cringing a time or two, and just falling in love with this outlandish old coot! He was a highlight of this story and stole just a little bit of my heart! I was so not ready for him, but I loved him immediately! Grab this one up for a good, sweet, easy read…you won’t regret it. Also, I mean lets just talk about that cover, Brenda is going to have a hard job matching future books in the series to it, because Anton’s cover…can you say COVER LOVE!
~ HAPPY READING ~
From the moment he first saw her at a team hosted event, hockey player Anton Petrov fell head over heels for Mia Marceau, she was gorgeous and made his heart skip a beat. But unfortunately there wasn’t a dang thing he could do about his little crush because she belonged to one of his teammates.
So for the last couple years he has kept his feelings a secret, and decided to wait for her, no matter how long it took. He knew it was just a matter of time before his team mate screwed up and lost her, and he wanted to be the one to help her pick up the pieces, and hopefully when the time was right, he would make his move. And hopefully win the heart of his girl…
Mia Marceua is stuck between a rock and hard place, she is stuck being married to a jerk that doesn’t appreciate her, or treat her well, but she doesn’t have the means to divorce him. When things started to get really bad between them, she took her meager belongings and found a place to stay. But he doesn’t seem to want to let her go, he’s always pestering her, and reigning his dominance over her, and all she wants is for him to move on. She doesn’t really have any friends to turn to for help, thanks to him, he has taken care of keeping her sheltered from the outside world. But that is all about to change when Anton Petrov comes skating in to her life…
Between the pages of this superbly crafted book you will find a beautiful love story, albeit heart-wrenching at times, that will leave you deeply moved. If ever there were a character that needed a happily ever after, it was Mia, she had been dealt a crappy hand at life, and Anton was truly her savior. He came in, lifted her spirits, gave her a reason to believe, and renewed her faith in unconditional love. I just cannot say enough good things about this story, the words were heartfelt, and the characters were downright amazing, I loved every single second I spent with them! Ms. Rothert truly outdid herself with this one, it’s got bestseller written all over it! I highly recommend you get your hands on this one, the words will squeeze your heart, and the characters will steal it!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
4.5 amazing stars.
I love this authors work so I have to read everything she writes. With Anton I was super excited because I also love sports romance. And this one…. it’s so freaking good.
Anton and Mia are made for each other. She’s just getting out of an abusive relationship and Anton has been admiring her from a far for a while. He’s nicknamed because of his abstinence with the ladies but really he only wants one woman…. Mia.
Y’all this is super sweet and very emotional. Mia is a sweetheart and Anton is definitely a white knight. I absolutely loved these two and their story. Can’t wait for more from this series.

I love a good sports romance! A hockey romance just makes it all the better! Anton is the first book in the new Chicago Blaze series and it’s a fantastic start!
Anton and Mia are the leads in this romance. Anton’s very focused on this career—keeping himself in tip top shape takes a lot of work, a lot of time and a lot of energy. He’s doesn’t really have room in his life for anything else—but he’d make an exception for Mia. She’s his dream woman, if only she wasn’t married to one of his teammates.
Mia’s been through the ringer. She’s finally separated from her bastard husband and living on her own. No, life is not perfect. She’s working too many jobs, making too little money to really live a great life. But life is great since she finally decided to leave him.
Enter Anton, he’s everything Mia could ever want in a man—kind, smart, sexy, protective. But he’s off limits, right? No way he’d ever want to be with a woman who was married . . . err, is married to a teammate. But once Mia shares the details of her marriage and separation with Anton, there’s nothing stopping him from protecting Mia and ensuring that eventually she will think of him as hers.
Anton. Oof. He is just sheer perfection. His first response to Mia is insisting to help her—help her with her limited finances, help her get a divorce, help her find herself again. What he isn’t insisting upon is getting her in between the sheets. And I absolutely love that! Does he want her, heck yeah, but he’s not going to rush things, no way! Not when Mia’s been through so much.
And this is why this book works! Mia has been hiding in plain sight for too long. She’s been so mistreated, and she needs to heal those wounds. It’s a slow burn between Anton and Mia. And it’s fabulous! I loved how they came together—how they forged a friendship first. Because, wow, was it fantastic in the end. I’m so looking forward to more in this series!
Despite the beautiful cover model, Anton is a slow burn novel. Mia’s marriage creates a distance between the two of them and they are both so honorable that until her divorce they remain friends. I loved how their friendship was fully developed before the romance really started. Mia’s marital situation, unsurprisingly has a rather harsh reality so there is plenty of drama in this novel, but it’s balanced really nicely with some humor from Anton’s uncle who is a rather salty old soul.
There were some interesting characters on Anton’s hockey team so if you’re a fan of these romances I think you’ll want to keep track of when the rest of these novels come out. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for you!
Hockey-fueled romances seem to be all the rage right now and yet into this crowded field comes this series starter about unrequited love and friendship, all wrapped up in a sweet and sensual blanket. It’s a slow-burn romance between a star player with a heart of gold and a woman struggling to rediscover herself after years stuck in a marriage that’s tore her apart. Along the way readers are introduced to an entertaining and drool-worthy roster of hockey players that I look forward to seeing more of in future installments in the Chicago Blaze series.
Anton Petrov and his brother Alexei have always excelled at playing hockey. For Anton it involved lots of hard work and a regimented existence, while for Alexei it was pure talent that he doesn’t have to work too hard to achieve. Coming to America gave them a new family, a chance to join pro teams, and for Anton…an attraction to a woman he has no business wanting to claim as his own. From the minute he first saw Mia, his teammate Adam’s wife, he was drawn to her and it’s been a frustrating wait for him to get to spend time with her. As an honorable man though it’s a wait that has him offering friendship while hoping for more. Throughout this story his support for her shines through, his kind heart has him offering kindness with no strings attached, and it endeared him to me. He treats Mia like a queen, helps her unconditionally while also caring for his uncle who’s a laugh-inducing curmudgeon. Anton’s a highlight of this story, a new addition to my list of book boyfriends, and through each word and deed he warmed my heart even more as he made this book end with a definite HEA.
Mia Marceau came from rough beginnings, a woman who cares deeply for those she claims as family and who’s not afraid to work hard. She was a strong-willed woman focused on a future of success, helping her grandparents live a life of comfort. Getting married to the charismatic hockey player Adam was her downfall though as he pulled her from her plans for the future and stole her self-esteem through his abusive words and deeds. Though she’s desperate to divorce him, her need to take care of her grandfather keeps her tethered to him as he continues to leave his mark on her soul in a heartbreaking reveal. There’s tension and fear surrounding Mia when readers first meet her, but her burgeoning friendship with Anton has her becoming empowered and taking whatever steps necessary to get her old self back. Their friendship is heartwarming and just what she needs as she’s been alone for far too long. It’s a friendship teeming in sensuality that doesn’t go any further until her future is settled in an immensely satisfying interlude that had me cheering. Mia’s journey was full of tears, degradations due to Adam’s vileness, and it pulled me in wholeheartedly for its realism and for her being able to overcome her past. Through it all she’s a likable heroine, one who just wants to be loved for herself, be accepted by Anton despite her imperfections that made her all the more likable. Theirs is a formidable pairing, one that’s hard-fought, and it put a smile on my face for their sweet and sensual journey to HEA.
This was an engaging series starter that presents readers with an immensely appealing main couple and their epic love story of friends to lovers. With a hero who’s earned the title due to his unconditional support of Mia, his blatant love and concern for those he claims as his, readers will be charmed. Mia is the easy to relate to heroine whose life pulls at the heartstrings and who you’ll be rooting for from the very first page to the last. Their journey from friends to lovers felt natural, powerful in their unconditional support of each other, and it drives this story with heart and soul. Surrounding this memorable main couple is an equally compelling cast of secondary characters that I’m longing to know more about it. Anton’s brother Alexei is the exact opposite of his brother, an unrepentant player who lives life without a care in the world. He’s almost living too much on the edge though, partying and drinking to excess, and it feels as though he’ll crash and burn soon. Despite his devil may care attitude I still find myself tempted by him and hoping his story gets told soon. Anton’s teammate Luca is another character that tempts me as he’s a good guy who has custody of his three nieces and nephews. He’s trying to be a good father figure, balancing time on the ice and off, and I look forward to seeing his personal life take center stage. Anton’s uncle Dix also pulled at my heartstrings, making me smile and bringing a tear to my eye in the end. Though this story is set in the hockey world, this story is definitely focused on Anton and Mia’s relationship. The moments spent on the ice are exhilarating though and I hope to see more of these scenes in the next installment. The only criticism I have of this story involves Adam and the less than satisfying conclusion to his involvement in Mia’s life. On a whole though this was an engaging series starter that has me counting down the days until we revisit the men of the Chicago Blaze.
5 star Review Anton (Chicago Blaze #1) by Brenda Rothert
I have a new book boyfriend and his name is Anton. This was one of the best books I have read from Brenda Rothert and that is saying something as I love her writing style.
Anton Petrov is the captain of the NHL’s Chicago Blaze has a reputation for being rather aloof and a little brooding. Little do people know that he has been in love with a team mates’ wife for several years. However being a man of integrity, he has made no moves or indicated his feelings; he remains alone.
Mia Marceau is finally away from her bullying soon to be ex husband Adam who is a player for the Chicago Blaze. I admit right here that I wanted to deck Adam and call him out on his hideous behaviour towards Mia.
I really loved Mia, a woman who has cowered in the past but who with the love of a good man and the building up of her shattered confidence emerges to take on the world.
This was at times an emotional roller coaster of a read as Anton and Mia fought the rocky path towards their happily ever after. The secondary characters were fabulous and I adored Uncle Dix, a man who I bet got up to a lot of mischief in his younger days.
I laughed, I cried but throughout it all I loved Mia and Anton, both separately and together. I was anxious that they would get the chance together that they both so richly deserved.
Not going to say anymore other than do yourselves a favour and one click this one on release. You won’t be disappointed and I cannot wait to read more in this series.
Can I confess something? I was nervous – with a capital N – going into this book based on the blurb. A hockey player crushing hard on his teammates wife? That was coming close to an idea I have a hard time with – cheating.
But, I have recently discovered Ms Rothert and trusted book friends said how good this was, so I had to give it a chance. I’m so glad I did because Anton wasn’t anything like I thought it would be and i loved every minute.
For starters – this is not a cheating book. This is a book about changes and fresh starts. Mia is in the process of starting over after leaving her ex and it hasn’t been easy when Anton stumbles across her at work.
Well written, Anton is really a sweet story of an unrequited crush turning into a friendship that blossoms into so much more. As he and Mia got to know each other, it was interesting to see Mia relearn what a truly good man looked like and to see all of the ways he worked to show her who he really was.
The supporting cast here is relatively small, but I enjoyed getting to know/ am curious about several of them. I want to know more about Mia’s roommate, Anton’s team mates, and especially his twin Alexei.
This is a good example of how a book that makes you a little uncomfortable turns into a great read, and a perfect example of why not to judge a book by its cover – or blurb.
Once again Brenda Rothert shows us that the heart wants what it wants no matter who the woman is. Being a team member is Antons life as Captain of Chicago Blaze team yet when it comes to Mia all bets are off. She is the one for him in every way but her ex is one obstacle that is not going away easy. Brenda Rothert shows us not just them but we see Mia going through things no one should in her life. There are some scenes where I was on the edge of my seat seeing how Brenda Rothert will pull this off. Loved that it wasn’t just sex between them but a friendship that grows to something beautiful. Loved it and cannot wait to see more of the Chicago Blaze series.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
