I Know Her Secret… show her who she really is…
“Anton” is a mafia romance, full of danger, forbidden love, and bloody retribution. It’s Book 5 of the Underworld series — a prequel to “Roman”. It’s a standalone novel, complete with HEA and no cliffhangers. Intended for mature readers only!!!
The Lark Notes:
The Bratva have plans for this sweet and innocent nightclub singer Violet… – Sophiemore
Although this is the third book in the Colors of Crime series by Sophie Lark, I think each book canoe read as a standalone. But why would you want to? Each of these books have great couples with intense chemistry, great twists and turns, and unique storylines. Anton and Violet’s story is a fantastic addition to this series. These two are well written, compelling characters, the story is well paced, has great drama, and a few surprises. I would love to see Roman with his own book, there is a lot more there to be explored. Great Read!
I received a copy from Booksprout and this is my honest review.
I love mafia romances and decided to give this author’s book a try. This Russian mafia romance didn’t disappoint. The chemistry between Violet and Anton was scorching and I enjoyed reading their journey together. I’m hooked and can’t wait to read Violet’s cousin Nadia’s story.

I was anxious to read Violet’s story after reading Sapphire and Black. That being said, I went into with an open mind and I’m glad I did. This is slightly darker than the other two books, mostly because it’s mafia related, but it was written with the same intrigue and complexity that I’ve grown accustomed to from this author. Lots of twists and turns, mystery, suspense, steam that evoke a plethora of emotions! Would definitely recommend if you like unique and different reads with a mafia twist!

This is an interesting, slightly dark mafia romance with mild mythology undertone & it can be read as a standalone. The plot is well-paced & intriguing with some unexpected surprises & situations, there is some good scene descriptions. The complex characters are quite well-developed & portray realistic emotional feelings although one of them is quite naïve in the beginning of the story but continues to mature throughout the story-line while the other one is determined to resist her.

Violet: A Dark Mafia Romance by Sophie Lark
This modern day romance takes place between London and Paris and involves the Russian mafia.
Violet had a rough beginning in life. She finds her escape in playing the guitar. It becomes her safe place, her outlet.
In London, she sings in a club that is frequented by gangster types. When her guitar is stolen, her world gets turned upside down. But that was just the beginning. Throw in a kidnapping and a hunky mafia bodyguard, things get wild fast.
What if you find out that you are not who you think you are? Are you ready for the changes that brings? Buckle your seat belts because this is going to be a crazy ride you are not going to want to get off of!!
Be forewarned: There are some sexual scenes in the book.
Violet worked in this Russian bar where she had a standing job as a singer. She lives with her roommate Mischa in a London flat in a not to good part of the town. She had a gig at the Bond Street Station where she sang and played her guitar for extra money. She sang on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 to 3:00. She had to audition for this position, it wasn’t just allowed. She was their one afternoon when someone stole her money, and in the midst of running after the thief she left her guitar a old Martin and someone stole it. She was heart broken because she had this since she was about seven years old when she found it in her mother’s closet and took it and started teaching herself to play. She goes to work one night and as she does her first gig which starts at 7:00 p.m. and then the next at 9:00 p.m. As she is stepping down from the stage she notices this table of men she had never seen before and she is drawn to them. One an older good looking gentleman and then another who is a little bit older than her and then a younger guy around her age. Her boss comes to see her and tells her that Victor Turgenev and his table would like to speak to her. She goes to speak to the men at the table but the one that speaks is Victor who is the leader, she didn’t know that but she knew they were probably mafia and the leader is the one who everyone listens to and gives respect to. Violet listen and answered Victor’s questions or rather listened and answered what he directed at her. She told them about her lost guitar. She happened to be drawn to Victor’s Lt. Anton. They leave before her second set but before they leave they fill her money jar full of money. Anton ends up waiting for her until she gets off work and strikes up a conversation with her. Violet’s part of Byron Black’s family, who we met in Sapphire and in Black. Byron Black was her older brother and had recently finally found someone to love and to love him back, Holly is her name. Byron Black use to a Detective for the London police. This story is of how Violet finds relatives she never knew she had and never knew she wanted and, of course, how Violet finds love in the strangest place with the strangest person and that person being Anton. I would recommend this book. Once I started reading I read until I finished. I would recommend read these books by Sophie Lark. They are all interconnected and they definitely take you on a journey with the leading characters.

Now living in the world of the mafia, Violet must come to terms with the caliber of the man she has tied her life to and find a way to make it work. This one will have you drawn in from the start. 4 1/2 Riveting Stars!!
Well written mafia romance that had something above and beyond others in this genre.
Descriptive, with smooth character development as the storyline was easy to follow and intriguing.
Violet’s emotions and character showed through with her beautiful talent in song and composition as well as her deep attachment to her siblings and even her beloved guitar. All little details that enhanced and brought an added depth to her personality.
Intense, passionate scenes with Anton that held a desperation that was further enhanced by their forbidden love.
A captivating read.
