Why did I wait so long to read this book!
I loved everything about this book. It was a perfect blend of romance, action, pain, and saving the world.
A good start to the beginning of a series. I like the protagonists, the pace was moderate and the action was plentiful. The author introduces a myriad of characters and readers will have a reaction to them, good or bad. I would like to continue the series to see where the other characters’ adventures lead them.
I very much enjoyed this well written story with excellent character development and world building. My first by Steffan and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Hunter is the leader of a bunch of rebels, they are wanted men, and they hiding from the regime whilst they plan their next move.
Hunter hates the Premiere (after killing someone he loved very dearly) and is planning on taking it out. What he doesn’t count on is a shuttle crashing on his outpost.
Skye is on the run, she’s stolen an antidote to a new weapon the regime has created. (her father was ordered by the alien race the “Vithii”to kill all humans, but he’s also created an antidote) She’s escaped, but that was the easy part! She’s crashed on what looks like an abandoned outpost, passing out from the crash, she hopes this is isn’t the end ….
Both Skye and Hunter have reasons not to trust no another, she doesn’t know if he will hand her and the antidote over, and Hunter just doesn’t trust her, even though his mating instincts are kicking in.
But they do agree on one thing, they need to release the antidote and save the humans.
The story is well written, the characters likeable, a few moments where you laugh, and the sex doesn’t go on for pages and pages and pages
It’s a fun read and there are more in the series. I’ll probably go back and read the rest at some point (but I have plenty on my kindle to keep me going for a while)
This is the first book in a series and it is off with a bang of a start. I am a fan of Ms Steffan by accident. I read her Horse Mistress series on a whim as I am not usually a fan of paranormal/fantasy books. I was hooked from the beginning and read the whole Euborosi Chronicles which is still being continued right now with the Dragon MIstress series which has just started. Back to this series; this one takes place on an outpost founded by Earth and then invaded by the outlaws of another planet. It is action packed and exciting but there is a wonderful arc of characters who are outcast/vigilantes fighting the Premiere/invader regime. For fans of action with a good story line and some romance/love stories thrown in as well you will love it. There are three stories so far and more to come. If you have never read any of her books, start now. She writes wonderful descriptive worlds with great characters who have strength, wit and grit. This is for both genders not just a cheeky chic story writer. Men will love all her books as well. Trust me.
A man under diress makes a bio weapon and his two children have to try to save the human’s on a planet. Skye Chantrell with the help of a notorious criminal Hunter a rogue wanted by the Seven Systems set out to save ten of thousands of human lives. She falls for Hunter and is a Vithii and she is human. The humans share a planet called Ilarian.
This is the first book in the Love and War Series. I really love R.A. Steffan’s writing, she never disappoints. This is a great Sci-Fi Romance, entertaining, with great and complex world and wonderful characters. I love Skye and Hunter’s story and I loved to follow them in their journey. I can’t wait for the next book in the Series. The narration was really well done and easy to listen, as always with Gwendolyn Druyor. She does a great job with all the characters and accents. I enjoyed my listening. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
Great read. I bought the rest of the series
Its barely romantic and I think I would rewrite the ending.
