An enjoyable and exciting book five in the Riad Dubois series. It is quick, witty, funny, engaging, well written, and guaranteed to pull you in from the first page. The characters are really sweet; the chemistry between them is instant and off the charts. Definitely recommended!

When Jeff and Sophia meet at the Riad, it’s attraction at first sight. There’s a spark of something between them just waiting to be explored. Jeff’s visit is strictly for pleasure, a vacation from the daily grind of being an officer. Sophia isn’t here for vacation per se; she’s here to heal. But maybe, just maybe, that healing can include Jeff?
Overall, a sweet story. Not a ton of drama, thankfully, but a lot of healing and trusting and newness instead. It was great to see some familiar characters while meeting new ones, and seeing that the magic of the Riad Dubois is still as potent as Book 1.

The short story to me is a catch-21. They are short and you get to the heart of the story quick but they are short and don’t get all the detail of a longer story. I did not realize that this was just 50 pages at best. I’m not a fan of these super short stories because, well they aren’t books. All 5 books could have been put into one and with a little more writing would have made a fantastic book. I like Ms. North’s stories but I won’t buy such short “books”.
Never disappointed with Avery books. Waiting on the motion picture for this book. Avery is hitting them out the park. You have your drama, twists and turns, danger, suspense, overall craziness and the romance that will set your kindle on fire. This book had the setting in a hotel Riad Dubois. There is so much adventure when you go to a hotel and enjoy everything it has to over. I recommend this book to everyone you will not be disappointed in reading it. Adventure awaits at the hotel.

The instant attraction between Jeff and Sophia is intense!! I really liked that even though Jeff is protective of Sophia he does not smother her and is willing to let her spread her wings and experience all that life has to offer, with him right at her side! So very hot yet incredibly sweet at the same time! I loved it!! The magic of Marrakech weaves its spell one more time!!

Wonderful read full of encouragement for torn marriages n full of tasteful sexy romance scenes. Reminder that anything is possible with strength n love.
Yet another cute episode in the Riad series. I loved the fact that both Jeff and Sophia were from the same area, but totally unknown to each other. It would appear that the magic of the Riad, or perhaps Moracco, has captured the hearts of these two waylaid characters, without them even knowing that what they needed, was not what they were looking for. Yet another beautiful tale.

Can it bring these two together and put another notch in its success belt? Another great short but sweet and steamy story in the series. Enjoy!

This is my first book in this series so based on what I have read, this can be read as a standalone even though there are other characters that reader who started with Book #1 would already know. As a second chance romance, the plot was well done but for me, there was just something lacking. Jeff is the brother to Helen who found her “forever” in one of the previous books. He comes to Marrakech for a vacation from his job as a London Policeman. He meets Sophie who has just come out of an abusive marriage and sparks fly between them. This is where the story was lacking for me. I would think that a woman who was in an abusive relationship would not so readily fall for someone no matter how charming and handsome Jeff was. Other than that, the book was good and I will be getting the previous books to see how everyone met and fell in love.
I was given an ARC in exchange or an honest and totally voluntary review.
I love these short stories. They have insta love and each person, even though it is a short story you get a glimpse into their charm and character. The short story to me is a double edge sword they are short and you get to the crux of the story quick but they are short and do not get all the detail of a longer story. But for a quick read that is fun and heartwarming, this is your story. I also like that there are recurring people, so just because you only meet them in a previous book they are still there and mentioned. Cannot wait for the next book.

Louise’s friend Helen’s younger brother, Jeff is a policeman in London. Louise’s co-worker Joshua’s daughter, Sophia, is a nurse. They’re all in Marrakesh at the same time on vacation. This book is a terrific addition to this series. Sophia has trust issues, stemming from her abusive ex-husband. But after Jeff defends and protects her from a rather unsavory mechanic, she trusts him enough to confides in him, even though her father doesn’t even know she was married. It was quick to read, as we watch them head for their happy ending.

Finding her voice and learning to trust again
Another Chance is the fifth book in the Riad Dubois series and is the story of Jeff and Sophia. Jeff is Helen’s younger brother and Sophia is Joshua’s daughter. Helen found love with Aryn in Unexpected Passion and Joshua’s son Brad found love with Simone in Finding Freedom.
Jeff is a police detective in London who is happy working hard and then playing the field, or the nightclubs as the case may be. He is visiting with Helen on vacation. On the same day that Helen and Jeff arrive at the Riad Joshua also comes on assignment and this time he brings his daughter Sophia. Sophia is a nurse and has recently moved back home to London and is staying with her father. She had been living in Scotland and while there she ended up in a abusive marriage but has now gotten divorced, both which she has never told anyone. Instead she told her father that she had been sick with a fever and that is why she has not been well. Jeff and Sophia are immediately attracted to each other and start to spend time together.
On everyone’s first night they all meet with Louise and Gilbert for a drink and then dinner in the hotel restaurant. Afterwards Jeff wants to continue the gathering and invites Sophia to go with him. But an overprotective Joshua steps in and speaks for Sophia, declining the invitation. An observant Louise sees a spark of interest in Sophia’s eyes and decides to speak up suggesting instead of a club that they visit the square, which Sophia is quick to agree to. So Jeff and Sophia walk to the square where she starts to feel free and Jeff sees some of her true nature. But he knows she is still hiding something, holding it close to herself and at times she closes herself off while they are talking over a drink. But when they get back to the Riad and everyone has gone to bed they sit in the courtyard by the pool watching the night sky. He joins her on her lounge chair with a blanket and before long they are pleasuring each other like teenagers.
When Sophia realizes the next morning that she has lost a ring her mother gave her she decides to go to the square again to find it. Jeff catches up to her and being the detective he is he assists her in discovering where it is, paying a “reward” to get it back. The following day eff decides to rent a car and take a drive to see some of the countryside with Sophia. They drive out of the city and find a lovely restaurant to have lunch at. Things get heated and before long they are rushing back to the Riad for a “siesta”. But the car has and issue and they find themselves stranded in a small town along the way. Luckily for them there is a mechanic, even if he will not be at the shop until later that evening, and a hotel which is clean. They do have their siesta and build up an appetite. Quickly Jeff realizes that as Sophia continues to open to him and let him know what happened in Scotland that he is falling for her and wants to be with her even when their time in Marrakesh is over. He will have to overcome a very protective Joshua, which can be done with a bit of help from Louise when she realizes that once again there is love to be found at the Riad Dubois.
This is another well written, sweet, romantic and sexy short story. There is a bit of drama and a lecherous mechanic but Jeff is able to handle it all while protecting Sophia. Before they return to London they will have found a love that neither was expecting. The Epilogue is a nice and satisfying ending, while still leaving the future open for this couple. But we do get to read an update on Brad and Simone.
This story revolves around the people we encounter at the hotel Riad Dubois in Marrakesh. Louise’s friend, Helen, had found love and happiness here and hopes for the same for her brother, Jeff. A former colleague of Louise had arrived from London with his daughter, Sophia, a nurse who had been ill lately. She would be enjoying the warm sunshine as she heals.
Louise arranged for a dinner to let her guests get to know each other. It became obvious quickly that Jeff and Sophia were noticing each other. The two of them went for a walk later and she told him about her abusive ex who had hurt her. Will the magic of love and the beauty of the location help Sophia heal? Will she let herself trust Jeff enough to give him a chance to win her heart?
