Every person has a story to tell. Some may be sweet with a happily ever after, but there are others that end in tragedy. Mine has yet to be finished. My name is Elizabeth Kingston and this is where my story begins. I never thought my life could be so perfect. I have an amazing job owning my own bakery, and a wonderful husband who I love and who loves me back. Never once did I have to worry about … to worry about anything, at least, not until the texts started coming in. They always begin the same way … numbers that spell my nickname when read upside down.

It’s someone from my past, only they won’t to tell me who they are, but that by talking to them, I’ll figure it out. It’s a game I refuse to play. Unfortunately, I’m left with no choice when things begin to take a dangerous turn.
His name is Anonymous and there’s only one thing he wants … ME.

Another amazing read by L.P that had me hooked from page one. L.P once again captivated me with her words, so much that I didn’t want too stop reading. This story was phenomenal, with amazing characters. You think you know what’s going to happen and bam it completely changes. I truly love Jake & Ellie and didn’t want the story to end. Truly an amazing read that everyone should one click.
Everything in Ellie’s life is darn near perfect, she has a job and business she loves, a husband she adores, and great friends and family to share her life with… but little does she know someone in her life is about to shake things up. First she starts receiving playful text messages from a stranger, then when she doesn’t play the game quite how he wants her too, things start to escalate, and the messages become threatening, and soon after things start to get dangerous. Dangerous enough that she has to go into hiding, and just when she thinks the police are on the path to catching the mysterious man from her past, things take an unexpected turn, and she is left shaken to her core!
Anonymous is a eerie tension-filled tale that is sure to sink it’s claws into you in from the very first page and hold you hostage until the last! This newest offering from Ms. Dover is a story of obsession, jealousy, and a woman fighting to keep the ones she loves close and sadistic killer that will stop at nothing to get what he wants at bay. The story line comes with a good mix of everything; a decent amount of suspenseful action to keep you on your toes, some naughty bits to weaken your knees and make you swoon, and a strong emotional base that will speak to your heart! I thoroughly enjoyed this one, it was highly engaging, super steamy, and riddled with lots of unexpected twists and turns that kept me guessing right up and until the last few pages. Highly recommend!!
My first read from L.P. Dover and want more!
I’ll see this book is a suspence romance. For me who luuuv bit of suspence in my romance, this book keep me glue to every page cause i just need to know who is that Anonymous!
And i must say, although i can guess who is that person in about 40% of the story, the way the story goes, the way the author put her words…i couldn’t put it down till finish. Just one small tiny thing that just make me couldn’t give the perfect five star…i wish there’s a bang at the peak. Buuut the wow factor of what Anonymous had done to Elizabeth all those time are sure addition to 4,5 star
Wow! This book hooked me from the get go! I couldn’t put it down!
This story is really about Ellie, but this so much more than just a romance, this is suspense, this is a real who done it!
Ellie is tormented by random texts from a stranger (or so she thinks!) Unfortunately it’s someone even closer than she could even imagine.
The twists and turns in this story had me guessing, just when I think I had the answer, BOOM, I was wrong. L.P. really keeps you on your toes with this story. You really have to take your time reading because there are clues from the get go and if you just try to breeze through it, you will lose vital clues to who the real evil is.
Ellie and Jake’s love is true, the smexy times between them are hot. I like that there wasn’t an overabundance of steamy times because this story was such a mystery and it was just the right balance.
There are many shady characters that could easily be the one tormenting Ellie and I really enjoyed how the story played out. This story grabbed me by the throat and I was turning pages and staying up waaaay too late to try to get as much of the story in before sleep took me. That to me is a true testament of a good book.
Get this story, really read it and see if you can figure out who it is! It’s a shocker but when you do find out, you will see there was hints the whole time!
Thank you so much for this book L.P.! It was fascinating!
“Anonymous” was such an engrossing read.
This was my first L.P. Dover book and I am pleased to say it was a positive experience for me.
I read this in one sitting as once I started reading “Anonymous”I found it impossible to put down.
I found I really enjoyed the established dynamic portrayed between Ellie and Jake.
It was so refreshing to be on a journey with a long-term married couple who are not afraid to express their feelings towards each other.
I would also really love to read their initial backstory if this author were to write it, as these two had such great overall chemistry between them and this made me want to delve deeper into there overall lives.
So this had twists and turns aplenty and had me on the edge of my seat biting my nails throughout.
And all though I did kind of guess where this was going.
I still enjoyed the journey I took to get there.
And guessing the twist really wasn’t that great a feat as there was a lack of overall secondary characters.
This really helped to narrow the suspect pool down like a lot and from that, it wasn’t that hard to kind of work things out from there.
This is one that I am happy to recommend and despite “Anonymous” being predictable in places it still left quite the impression and certainly packed a punch in regards to its dynamic suspenseful storyline.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of “Anonymous” of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
They say that you should always trust your gut. (I know mine’s expanded over the years but so has my paranoia.) I am the first person to get the creepy feels. The first to start looking over her shoulder. I don’t scare easily by I think my paranoia meter has always been set to freak the f… out mode.
Nothing says freak the f… out like creepy texts and veiled threats. Unless of course they come from an Anonymous source, now your in way over your head.
Anonymous definitely had my meter freaking, twitching, and calling up suspect lists. I’m proud to say my crazy is occasionally on point- except for the dozens of my own death scenes that have played out as horrific accidents…(are you afraid to talk to me now?)
Anonymous will get you hackles and possibly your heart rate up. You will be flipping through these pages as quick as you can to find out just who Anonymous is. But are you ready…for all that they will do?
I loved the harsh edge of suspense. Anonymous kept me on my toes and very entertained.
Reviewed for Sweet Spot Sisterhood
Last week, I read L.P. Dover’s Anonymous for one of my book clubs. I’m going to say right up front that if I hadn’t been introduced to it as part of a book club, I probably wouldn’t have picked it up. I don’t read a lot of dark romance or romantic suspense because it invariably messes with my mood. So when I do read them, it’s sparingly, and bookended by light, happy books. I think my major problem with Anonymous was that I read too many dark books in a row. A diet of almost entirely dark romance or romance that had a cheater in it for two weeks just about killed me. So my opinions on Anonymous are not entirely the fault of L.P. Dover.
Like most books that are supposed to have a bit of mystery to them, I figured out who the bad guy was quite early on. This happens every time an author does NOT pull a deus ex machina badguy. In my book club, I was one of three people who knew it early on, so L.P. Dover’s ability to hint without showing her hand was just fine.
I did gain a certain amount of dark satisfaction at the end that all characters ended up how they should have. So it wasn’t an unhappy ending or a cliffhanger, or anything like that.
But the book made my skin crawl. The creepiness factor was spot on and was loved by many members of my book club who like to be creeped out. Since I don’t like to be creeped out, I didn’t enjoy it as much. So if you’re looking for that, you’ll love this just fine.
It was a quick read, which is always good for a book club. But Anonymous really, really wasn’t my cup of tea. 4/5 Stars simply because it contributed to the bad mood I had for weeks.

(3.5 stars)
When Ellie starts to get strange texts from Anonymous, at first she thinks they are no big deal, then slowly one by one she starts getting weirded out. When she adds in the factor that she feels like she is being watched at certain times, she is starting to feel like maybe she should confide in her husband, but not wanting to make a big deal out of it, she blocks the calls and keeps on going. When its pretty certain that Anonymous is watching her after a certain text about her clothing, she finally confides in her husband what’s been going on. Things start to escalate and things take a turn for the dangerous. Just how far is Anonymous willing to go to make Ellie his?
So this was a suspense story that had a twist that you may or may not see coming. I figured it out pretty fast. With some drama, some nice sexy times, and a bunch of danger. This wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t the best that LP Dover has done either. I give this 3.5 stars.
4.5 Stars of awesomeness!!!
This is not a love story … this is a thriller with more twists and turns than a roller coaster. Ellie and Jake are married and now there is someone that wants to be part of her life, whether she wants this person or not. The texts are becoming increasingly scary. Someone wants to play a game, and Ellie and her husband Jake have no choice but to play.
The only thing that I can say is WOW. The book started out a little slow to me, but quickly picked up and would not let me put it down. I devoured it! I had to read to the end and couldn’t stop. LP Dover created a story that was freaking thrilling and scary. There is so much going on and the twists that happened through the story were amazing. This book has to be experienced and I can definitely say that if you like a story that will keep you guess, then ANONYMOUS is for you!
