He stole my heart long before my sister stole his.She was the “bad girl” all the guys wanted and I was the “good girl” everyone overlooked. Now my sister is dead. I’m alone, left in the shadow she cast over me.
He’s the last person I expect to see at the funeral.
And now I need him more than ever.
Wow this book is a tear jerker and will take you on a amazing ride that will have your heart pouring out throughout the book. Your emotions will be everywhere..
You you be able to feel the emotions rolling off the pages..
An emotional and heart breaking journey to go on. My heart broke for Adena. It honestly felt like I was reliving my past with my own sister, when a person is an addict; it hurts everyone around them. It may have seemed like Adena was hateful because of her feeling towards her sister but I know from personal experience is that you love this person so much when it all ends you feel some sort of relief. Ok, so back to the story… Evan and Adena were meant to be together but circumstances, and their need to protect other people kept them apart. When they finally meet again, their chemistry is palpable, their connection is beautiful, and their future looks brighter. I enjoyed every heart wrenching- love infused, emotional moment of this story.
Anna’s Dress By London Casey and Jaxson Kidman
This is such an angst filled emotional story. Things are not always how they seem. London Casey and Jaxson Kidman sure know how to write a story that is haunting. I listened to this on audible and really liked the narration of Angela Moore and George Wickham. Definitely a 5 star story!
Jaxson Kidman and London Casey wrote another phenomenal story. They really described what it is like to love an addict with the way Adena loved Anna no matter what she did. She was left to pick up the pieces after her younger sister got in trouble, and was always shoved to the background. Most people knew her as Anna’s sister. I loved Evan and Adena together. This book was so heartbreaking and emotional. I absolutely loved this book and would recommend it to everyone that loves a good second chance romance with a lot of emotion in it.
5 stars!!!!!!!!
First, this was more 4.5/5 for me. In the end, this is about weathering the storm of addiction and finding love and forgiveness on the other side. It is about love in so many forms and ways – patience, sacrifice, perseverance, selflessness, secret, unrequited, and true.
Well edited.
Adena has lived most of her life caring for her sister. She is older, and has felt responsible for Anna since she was born. Their mother was abusive, but after she was gone, the sister’s found a home with their aunt. Adena thrived under their aunt’s care. Anna grieved for her mother and resented her aunt. Anna embraced alcohol, drugs, manipulation, sex, and whatever trial she could find for her aunt and sister. In their teens, the girls met Evan. Adena harbors feelings for Evan for years. Unfortunately, he always ends up with Anna. After a particularly terrible night, Evan leaves town. Anna continues her wild ways. Adena is heartbroken.
Years pass. Anna continues on unabated. Adena continues to clean up mess after mess. Evan is still gone. Until Anna’s life catches up with her. Once more, Adena has to pick up the pieces. And Evan finally comes home. As Adena tries to adjust to the new normal – finding her way in a world with no more drama and mess from Anna, she learns truths about Anna that rock her world. While she always knew Anna was troubled, she had no idea just how devious, hurtful, and hateful Anna really was. As Evan continues to come around after the funeral, Adena gains new perspective on the past. Will Adena let go of the past and embrace a future with Evan? Or will she allow Anna to steal happiness one more time? After all, the dress was never really Anna’s to begin with.
Truth is, I love Jaxson’s books. They deal with life – the ups, the downs, the hope, the fear, the nasty, and the love. Reading, you wonder why anyone tries with Anna. Reality is, when you love someone, you put up with a lot, hoping that THIS time will be the one that helps. The truth of Evan, Anna, and Adena is heart-wrenching. The lengths Evan goes to for the one he loves is amazing. When the truth comes out, you want to shake Evan even as you understand his reasoning. In the end, Love wins. What could be better? Enjoy!
This is a raw and gritty story about two sisters Anna and Adena, who are bought up by their great aunt Beth. Anna is younger, wilder, a free spirit and will stop at nothing to have what she considers a good time. Adena and Aunt Beth try to keep Anna in line but it’s like holding back the tide. Anna is a cool kid at school and attends all the neighbourhood parties, while Adena sits at home waiting to bail her out of trouble! In essence Anna is hurting over her parents deaths and refuses to grow up. Meanwhile Adena who is only two years older becomes her mother figure losing all chance of being a kid herself. Evan is the good looking cool guy at school, he’s Adena’s age but Anna has her claws in him. Once again Adena is left looking on from the outside at her crush that will never eventuate. Evan just ups and leaves town one night and Adena feels like she was abandoned once again. She doesn’t set sight on him again until Anna’s funeral. This book has been written with honesty, the characters have depth and are very relatable.
Wow, what an amazing book. These authors do not disappoint when they write a book together or alone. The emotion and reality in this book hook you right from the beginning until the last word written. A definite must read, one click book.
Beautiful and a little (a lot) heartbreaking. That’s the perfect description of Anna’s Dress. Jaxson and London never cease to tear my heart apart and by the end, piece it back together just a little. That’s what they did with Anna’s Dress, and what they’ll probably always do with anything they write.
Adena is the good sister, the good girl. She’s forever in the shadow of her bad girl younger sister. When Anna steals Adena’s love, Evan, she figures her life can’t get much worse. But, it can. So much worse. All because of Anna and her insane desire to tear the world apart and bring everyone down so they feel the misery she can’t seem to control. But, in a twisted way, she’s the cause of Adena getting her love back, because when Anna dies, Evan comes back to town for her funeral and Adena and Evan can’t seem to resist each other, the way they resisted each other all those years ago.
Evan reminds me of Dean Winchester in Supernatural (my favorite show of all time!) with his never ending desire to take care of Anna. Dean takes care of Sammy because his dad force fed it to him from the time Dean was a little kid, that taking care of Sammy was Dean’s job, his only reason for living. Evan is force fed the same thing, that he has to take care of Anna. His motivation is a little different, though, and it’s that motivation that he keeps a secret, to his detriment, from Adena. Thank God Anna dies, though (I know, that sounds cruel, but it’s true), because it gets Evan back into town and makes him realize just what he walked away from.
Anna’s Dress is just as heartbreaking as Dear Everly: a romance novel, and has as much emotional impact, if for different reasons. I don’t think I’ll ever tire of Jaxson and London’s brand of heartbreak. It’s beautiful and brutal and about kills me every single time, but it’s so worth it. 1-click Anna’s Dress today if you’re as addicted to Jaxson and London’s pain as much as I am.
This book was so real to me, you feel the emotions in the characters. He is 100% in his work always! That is what I love about his work!
Being a fan of both London and Jaxson, this book was freaking amazing. I absolutely loved it. I’ll admit, I cried a little while reading but it was worth it. The love story between Adena and Evan was beautiful. No matter how far life tore them apart, they always found their way back to each other. Although I didn’t really care for Anna because of her actions, I don’t think the love that Adena and Evan had for each other would have been as strong as it was. This was a fantastic, heart wrenching, emotional tale that deserves to be read!
What a fantastic book, the realness of this book just blows my mind. I highly recommend this book, it’s bittersweet the characters and settings are written so well, and all I can say is you need to read this book!! Casey and Kidman write so well together it’s always a pleasure reading their work.
This was one of those books that the moment i turned a few ages in my kindle ,I just knew I would been stuck there until I completed the entire book. It grabbed me from the get go and as me by the throat the entire ride. This is one of those reads that makes you scratch your head and wonder , how in the world do they write books like they do?
For one this this story could easily have been taken taken from my high school. Reminds me of a small southern town. Two how do two people write write so seamless as one? This book is well written and thought provoking. It has me stuck to me kindle like glue..
Two sisters as different as can be attracted to the same boy. Sounds like a soap opera right or at least a made for tv movie. Sadly this was one sister grabbed hold of this boy and held on tight and not in a good way nor for a good reason he grasp her back. You have to read this book to see if you followed the path that I did as you read it. Did you read the same conclusions before the truth was came out?
I can’t wait to read what they give us next. This writing pair just continues to grow and grow…WOW.
