Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead. So did his father before him, until he was gruesomely murdered by a ghost he sought to kill. Now, armed with his father’s mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. Together they follow legends and local lore, trying to keep up with the murderous dead—keeping … dead—keeping pesky things like the future and friends at bay.
When they arrive in a new town in search of a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas doesn’t expect anything outside of the ordinary: track, hunt, kill. What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he’s never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, now stained red and dripping with blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.
But she, for whatever reason, spares Cas’s life.

I love all of Kendare’s books, but this was the first one I read. It’s a creepy take on a classic ghost story…and there’s a scene that actually made me a little nauseated. (I was eating a sandwich at the time, which didn’t help.) I know it makes me weird, but that impressed me a lot. I grew up reading horror and have a fairly high “ew” …
It’s safe to say that I’ve been wanting to read this book since the moment it came out. When it was making it’s rounds in the book blog community, I wanted to get my hand on it badly. Well, I finally got my chance to read it and I was not disappointed.
Anna Dressed In Blood was a great story. It was written well and, honestly, was not what I was …
Great story. Wonderful character development. I am looking forward to reading more of her writing.

This was very entertaining. I always love ghost hunts and Anna Dressed in Blood definitely delivers on this. I found myself really enjoying the story and Cas is definitely an interesting character. I couldn’t help liking him and his new sidekick Thomas. What I really liked is that nothing about Cas’s job is simple and things only get more …
Everything about this was predictable, and the writing was incredibly detrimental to my reading experience. I was expecting a LOT more action and a LOT less insta-love. I’m glad I got this on my Kindle so it doesn’t have to mar the greatness of my bookshelf.
I finished this audiobook. I know this book has a lot mixed reviews. But I wanted to give it a try. I am so glad that I did. Yes there are lots of creepy book out there. And the narrator does amazing job keeping me into the story. I enjoyed all the al the characters. While listening I almost felt like. I was seeing a horror movie. I can”t to …
I could not put this book down. If you love paranormal romance reads then this is a must read.
I absolutely loved this book. It didn’t take me long to read and it kept me hooked the whole way through. It is definitely one of my top favorite books.
ANNA DRESSED IN BLOOD, by Kendare Blake, is the first in a two-novel series. Theseus Cassio Lowood (Cas) is a teenager that has a unique . . . job . For generations, the men in his family have dispatched violent ghosts that stick around, and are somehow able to harm the living. Since his father’s murder, Cas has been the one to wield the sacred …
Beautifully written
A perfect read for those longer and crisp autumn nights, when the wind rustles the dry leaves in the trees and on the ground, filling the air with ghostly whispers…
Teen monster Hunter falls for ghost. This is a YA version of Supernatural. With its hero looking to kill the demon that killed his father, it was the mom in SN, to when he falls in love with a ghost, like when Sam feel in love with a demon. Still not a bad read and probably much more enjoyable if you don’t watch Supernatural.
I read this book because I thought my daughter would like it. I enjoyed the book. The storyline kept my interest and it was an easy read. I will definitely pick up the sequel to see what happens next.
