This book really made me think. I read it years ago in college.
Orwell supposedly wrote this as a satirical slap at communism and specifically the Soviet Union, more and more however it resembles the bastardized republics of the US and the UK. A classic everyone should read especially in todays world.
Don’t know what to write that isn’t in every other review ever written on this. Other than that you can really believe those English lit teachers you had in high school and college, This is a must-read work of world literature. And it is entertaining and not nice and has wonderful obnoxious characters. So enjoy!
Master of analogy.

Thought provoking and haunting.
This is a satire of the Russian revolution and the USSR. If you’re wondering how dictators come into power and stay there, this is the book for you!
Orwell uses his crystal ball, again. What was at the time supposed to be a mirror expose the world the to what 1950s Russian communism was really like, Orwell brilliantly crafts a world of politics, corruption, and oppression. Even though the Soviet Union has fallen almost 30 years ago, it’s still a must-read for everyone because of how relatable …
Interesting and well-written – but it was an assignment in school, and I didn’t enjoy is nearly as much as wished I had, in my mind, an animal farm would be a happy, good place, and of course, this was not.
