Vaughn Spencer…..need I say more? This is my favorite of this series hands down!! Angry God took me on a crazy emotional rollercoaster ride. Vaughn is gorgeous and broken…..he captivated me from the very beginning.
AHH this book gave me so many feels. All the good ones like love. It gave me room to laugh to cry ugly. The first sentence hooked me kompleetly. I#m still absorbed by this book.
Well choosen words made it possible that i got what the characters think and feel. What i loved about this story is that we saw all the feelings and thoughts had been raw but they made this persons so loveable.
The minutes were flying across the watch while reading. But at the same moment lyin this book down hasn’t been an option for me. It was such ride. This storybuilding was more than well. Still i’ve problem to find words to describe how i feel about this book.
For sure i’ll read this story many more times. Because it’s such a catching story.
It shows so many problems in our economy. We saw a lot of character development in the pages.
Len was an interesting young female artist. She is dealing with problems in her own way. She helps them who are important to her.
Vaughn is a dark young man. This man is really facinating. You see that his parents are important to him. He seems like he doesn’t has feelings.
To conclude i need to say that my anticipation for this book had been high. This book has more than i waited for. Even if it hurtet me to leave this characters i was caught by every word and it has is on magic. So much energy in this words. This whole story is an absulute highlight of this year. I fell in love with Vaughn. This Final of the series scattert my heart and it will alway stay there. So it gets plus 10 stars. Or to be clear a sky of stars
Leigh has such a talent with words. She has been able to take these Hotholes and their Totholes and make everyone fall in love with them. I’m so sad to see this series end, but it couldn’t have ended with a more perfect book or a more perfect couple.
Basically take everything you thought this book would be about, and forget it. This book exceeded even my wildest expectations, and I’m still in awe of its heartbreak and beauty.
These two together have a connection that goes deeper than any of the couples in the past. There are secrets there, and even though they both have this hate for each other, there’s a fine line between love and hate.
The journey these two take isn’t easy, and you will definitely want to throttled Vaughn several times. I mean he is Vicious’ son so that should have been a given. Then there are moments that show you that there their love is so true and genuine, but they have to get to a place in their life where they both feel worthy.
The twists and turns keep coming in this book and will keep you on your toes the entire time. If you’re going to start reading it, make sure your day is free. You will definitely be reading it all in one sitting.

“Pale face. Black heart. Golden legacy.”
Vaughn Spencer. Closed off. Broken and so much like his dad Vicious! I will admit that I didn’t feel a connection to Vaughn straight away but as the story went on and I learnt more about why he was the way he was with people it kinda broke my heart a little bit.
I loved Lenny, she was the perfect person for Vaughn to be with. She taught him so much and bought him out of his shell.
“One thing I knew about men like Vaughn Spencer—they either broke you or you broke them. There was no middle ground.”
I loved the tension and the push and pull between the characters. That had me hooked. I did guess the big twist at about 20% into the book but that didn’t take away my enjoyment from reading. It just made me ragey when it was confirmed.
“There was nothing more beautiful than watching Vaughn Spencer let go.”
This was my favourite part of the story (along with all of the Vicious scenes) seeing Vaughn be vulnerable and letting Lenora lead him through the darkness and into the light.
Overall not my favourite All Saints High book but it was perfect story for Vaughn and Lenora.
I am not sure where to go with this review. I am not sure how to put on paper the words that encompass this story. I am not sure I can relay the accolades this book deserves.
This book took me places. To the depths of darkness and to the rising of light. This book reached into the pit of my soul. Opening emotions and stirring feelings. This book touched me. Calmly and jolting at the same time. This book is LJ Shen.
Vaughn, how could you not love him? He is his bad-boy father, but he carries his mother’s tenderness.
Lenora is strength and determination. She is fearless and unwavering. She is the Angry God’s angel.
I am so impressed with the way LJ Shen opens her world. She does more than storytelling. She does more than give words to read. She does more than put pen to paper. She captures the reader in a world of honesty. Where things are not perfect. Where bad happens. Where darkness occurs. Where life leads you down a path not always paved with gold. But in all of this angst, this heartbreak, this discovery of one’s self, she somehow finds the light at the end of the tunnel and shines it brightly.
I am not gonna say much in this review. I am not gonna tell you how I am still recovering from this story. I am not gonna tell you how I cried, I laughed, I screamed, I hurt, I cheered. I went on an emotional journey that I will not be talking about for months to come! JUST AMAZING!
Angry God (All Saints High Book 3)
Each time a new book comes along from LJ Shen you can’t help but think she simply CANNOT top the previous one.
And you start off slowly and build the story up with teases and intrigue and ALL THE THEORIES IN MY BRAIN.
He’s a monster. She’s a misfit. He’s a bully. She’s not taking it. YET THE TENSION. My god, the chemistry is something else.
And so the story climbs to the inevitable explosion and this slow burn you’re feeling just gets hotter as the scenes get steamier and BAM!!!! they’re in the fire and there is nothing you can do, nowhere you can turn, but follow them in there.
I was ENGROSSED. I was lost. I was found. And man was I experiencing the lust, anger, love, and fierceness of these characters with every word and page before me.
And the setting!! I want to visit this castle. I want to experience what the Hogwarts of the art-world is like!! I’m not an overly visual person when it comes to reading books, I’m more of an emotive reader, but the way LJ Shen describes both Lenny’s and Vaughn’s art work is phenomenal – I only wish to see them in real life to see if my mind’s eye did them justice.
Ms Shen offers us such an insight into Vaughn and Lenora’s past and present and their potential future through such poignant and beautiful writing. I adore dual POV books and she does not disappoint with this one which includes cameo chapters from Vicious and Emilia. It was so good to be back in their minds but this time as parents of a teenage mini-Baron.
Buckle up, people! This is one hell of a ride you don’t want to miss out on.
FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY FROM TODOS SANTOS TO BERKSHIRE AND BACK!
Incredibly dark and delicious!
Angry God is the third installment of L.J. Shen’s All Saints High series. A series of standalone novels with inner connected characters. These books can be read by themselves but are always better when read as a series.
Angry God is by far the darkest of the three novels. And be forewarned that there are some dark themes throughout the story that my trigger some readers. But as a whole, the story will grab you and keep your interest throughout.
This story focuses on Vaughn Spencer, a dark, brooding, enigmatic man that has some deep, dark secrets. These secrets have defined and shaped him into the callous and cold hearted boy her appears to be. And he has it out for Lenora Astalis. Little does he realize that Lenora may just be able to save him.
Okay, I’m going to be honest, I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about Angry God. I have loved all of the previous book in this series, but I was seeing mixed reviews for this one.
Boy, was I wrong to be apprehensive about this book. With each new book in the series I liked the next one more than the last, and holy shit did I love this book. And Vaughn. Oh my god.
Before this book Knight was my favorite. His book ruined me, but Vaughns book brought me back from the dead.
Vaughn is damaged. He’s cruel. He’s angry. He lashes out at other people, but damn when that boy let himself be soft for Lenora, it’s beautiful.
Angry God is nothing like I was expecting, and yet everything I didn’t know I needed it to be. This is the most perfect ending to this series. I am so sad to see it end, but so happy with the way that it did end.
Lenora surprised me. She’s soft in the beginning, but there is a spitfire under the surface and the older she gets the more she lets it show. I loved her. And her and Vaughn together are just perfect.
The character development as these two grow throughout the book is one of my favorite parts.
L. J. was right, this one is darker than the previous books, but with Vaughn there was no escaping that.
And I HAVE to mention, Baron and Emilia as parents, AH!
Shit. That was fucking great to read. Vicious as a dad is hot as hell!!
I usually include some quotes in my reviews, and I highlighted a lot in this book, but I feel like going into this book blind is the best kind of reading experience for Angry God.
If you enjoyed the other books before Vaughns and you’re apprehensive about Angry God like I was, Don’t be! This book is so much more that what you see on the surface.
Stoic Tutankhamun. Heartless prince. Empty-chested mummy.
OR in this case Vaughn Spencer
I was wired in messy-ass knots. Made out of metal cords instead of veins. An empty black box instead of a heart. A laser-focused vision to detect weaknesses instead of pupils.
He was angry at the world, wanted to raze it to the ground, turn everything to ashes.
He has lava of vengeance boiling and running in his veins, his soul perforated and the lava leaked out and burned everybody in his proximity
He’s a punishing personality, lives for an agenda, his goal to hunt and kill. But his target…?
Lenora Astalis walks into his life at crucial juncture and each encounter turns his life. His heart goes through a personality transplant and unbeknownst to him, she humanizes him.
He HATES that
Lenora has a spine of steel and mouth of a brat. Not the one to lie down and roll over, she wears army boots and isn’t afraid to toe kick in the balls of her opponents. This girl is on fire!!!
One thing I knew about men like Vaughn Spencer—they either broke you or you broke them. There was no middle ground. But I wasn’t going to be the one picking up the pieces when we were done with each other.
Then comes the hard part. The secrets that tumble out SLAY YOU DEAD!!
They’re degrading, immoral and inhuman. I was stunned speechless and my heart tore in two!
Leigh does a solid job of surprising you with a Baseball thwack of a twist and the whole perspective shifts askew. Rights and wrongs get entangled, relationships turn on their heads, and amidst all this tornado, lonely hearts become one.
“Only difference was, my tragedy was silent and embarrassing, and hers—loud and publicly acknowledged.”
The story packs a powerful punch, actually several. It’s hard hitting, hard feeling, hard to digest at some points and hiding behind it is a lot of heart, poignancy, sadness and misery.
Brash front and pained heart are smoke and mirrors. Tough shell hides scarred souls and that’s what makes it all worthwhile
4 stars for Silver & Gold

The best L.J. Shen book to date. I am in absolute awe. So many twists and turns. I keep going back to reread my favorite scenes! Vaughn Spencer is the ultimate bad boy.

Look whats live! Already kicking ass on the charts.
LJ Shen has done it again! Enemies to lovers perfection
What a beautifully complicated story
Angry God is the answer to so many questions. When LJ Shen announced Angry God was next in the series, I simultaneously squealed and started to make a list all while holding my breath.
You know that feeling of doom and curiosity that choke the breath out of you or force you to hold it in. The impending glee or horror when your questions are answered….That chaotic stutter step of your heart and thoughts? That was all I could do until I got Angry God on my kindle.
You will have answers and even more questions. I solemnly swear they will all be answered. My twisted, blackened heart found Angry God unbelievably sexy and highly emotional. I was not able to fight my tears, but then I guess I didn’t try too hard. A bully romance and so much more, Angry God will turn any reader into a vengeful angry deity looking for justice.
Just wait and watch the magic unfold!
Ok, so I had previously said that for a long time Vicious was my number one. Well guess who took his place?? Almost instantly I was drawn to Vaughn. The first mention of him and I was like, welp I can see it now he’ll be my favorite. AND HE WAS IS AND WILL PROBABLY ALWAYS BE!! I LOVE Lenny too, I just can’t even. This will probably be the book in the series that I re read the most. I already got half way through it the second time and realized I needed to review the series. While I hope there will be more of these books I would honestly be so so satisfied with this book as the conclusion. Shen has quickly risen to one of my favorite authors with these books. I can’t wait to read more.
Vaughn Spencer was the brooding jerk in the background of the other books in this series, so I hadn’t given him much thought until his book came along but, wow. There’s so much more to Vaughn than I imagined. LJ Shen really brings this character to life. He’s tortured and vengeful, passionate and dark, I can’t get enough Vaughn. He seems to spend his life lashing out at everyone around him but now we know why he’s so bitter and angry at the world.
Lenny is one of my favorite heroines. She’s quirky and effervescent without trying to be and she’s so talented. Creativity just oozes from her in every aspect of her being. It’s not limited to her art, it drips from her pores but nowhere is it more exciting than when she wants to hurt Vaughn and make him jealous. I love Lenny and would like to see her pop up again in the future, much like we see Luna and Knight in The Hunter from Shen’s Boston Belles series.
Their story is dark but oh so hot, Lenny and Vaughn are fire. There are some great twists here that add suspense. You might think you know where this story is going, but I guarantee there are more layers to it that you didn’t anticipate, in every aspect of the plot. This is one of my favorite books because I just love everything about it: the characters, their struggles, the world LJ Shen has created – not just in Todos Santos, but beyond. This is a story you’ll re-read more than once, it’s just that good.
Wow. What a ride!
This is actually book three in a series and I have to admit I started with this one right away because the blurb and some other readers’ reviews totally caught me.
Lenora and Vaughn are wonderfully deep characters who both have their best and also their worst sides. And, boy, do they show it! I usually don’t like bully romances so much because it always hurts deep in my soul to see other people getting pestered and bullied, but with Vaughn, you knew very soon that he does it for a special reason. Only the real reason was a secret to me until much later in the book. But it’s clear from the start that he does want Lenora and that is all that mattered to me.
It all started out in an American Highschool, which was the tragic part and kept me eating up the pages just to finally get to a part that would put the trumoil inside me at ease. And then I loved the atmosphere at the academy in England later where they both had a room and started seeing each other more privatly.
There were really some kinky moments, like when Lenora found herself craving for a bit of Vaughns blood, almost like a vampire, but the intimicy of these moments made all up for it. And honestly, one of my favorite moments was when Vaugh Spencer came came to Lenora after a fight and asked her to patch him up. It was gross, but the way he was with her was heartwarming.
There’s a lot of anger in this book, not just from Vaughn but also from his father and the end is something you need good nerves for to stomach it, but this is not part of the romance. It’s a family thing. A tragic secret being avanged in the end, and not in a very nice way. But apart from that one, I really enjoyed every chapter of this book!!
I can’t begin to say how much I LOVED this book. Another great Shen book-love the FHH and ASH stories. There’s just everything in this book- romance, chemistry, the huge suspenseful secret, and humor. I loved how Lenora and Vaughn’s relationship felt very on brand-like a teenage/young adult romance and how they come to innocently realize their feelings. I especially love Vaughn and how his feelings pull him out of the teenage facade of indifference. The way he loves Lenora….man! It made me laugh several times. I loved all these characters and loved the cameo by Emilia and Vicious. Just love, love, love.
