Started off great.
Then ended! ….without finishing
Well written…but very unsatisfying!
This book is about small town cops. An Angry Betty is cop slang for a drug addicted prostitute.
Terrible book. Characters are poorly constructed tropes. Go for a walk or watch Wheel of Fortune re-runs to better use your time.
Great book. Look forward to reading more from this author.
Held my attention
Ended abruptly no closer
Well-written. So good I read several other books by Jamie Scott. Not a cozy mystery, more hard-boiled police procedural. Couldn’t put it down. Gotcha Detective Series is also by the same author. Equally good!
no ending. left you hanging
Pretty good, ok read, a little too hard-nosed female cop!
Loved it
The content of this book is not for the faint of heart. Very realistic characters and plot; keeping you n your toes from start to finish. With a cliff hanger ending, you can’t wait for the next book. Highly recommend!
It’s a decent little mystery although after a career in law enforcement I can safely say that I have never used nor heard of any of the little quips, such as angry betty or bang switch and booger hook, that the author attributes to law enforcement. Maybe it’s a Texas thing.
A very quick read. Nice plot.
Some will probably love this book because of the fast pace, but this is one of the rare books I wish I had never spent time reading. Poorly executed, studdering and really unfortunate ending.
Nice introduction to a series that has potential. Kate Darby is a take-no-prisoners cop who has overcome her share of issues while still battling others. Lots of other characters with promise, and a storyline that lends itself to future books.
Realistic action and language might offend some, but overall it works okay. It ended kind of abruptly, but definitely pulls the reader toward the next part of the series.
The book was great and then it was done before the solution!! Figured I would get the whole book. Was like a serial at the movies– a critical point in the plot and boom, you’re done. If I wanted to read part of a book, I want it to be my choice, not the author’s. It was like someone giving you part of some item and then charging you for the rest. Very sneaky. Ergo, will not purchase any of future books.
Love the characters in this series, keep them coming.
Do not like books that leave ending dangling. It’s like the author really couldn’t come up with an ending so just left it
Outstanding! Just sorry it is a cliffhanger.
Ended very abruptly
