As an a’ani warrior, my life matters little. Cloned from the same matter as thousands of others, I am but one of many. Here on the ice planet, though, I can start over. I can become my own person, have my own needs, my own wants.I know what I want. I have known since the moment I arrived. Her name is Angie. She is human, with sad, lonely eyes and a very pregnant belly. To her, I am not just … am not just another clone. I am Vordis, the one who laughs at her jokes, tends to her needs, and makes her smile. I will do anything to make her mine.
But my brother and fellow clone Thrand thinks the same way, and he’s just as determined to win her. Will I have to destroy my bond with my brother to win my female? Or will he cause a rift between us that’s impossible to mend?

I love all of Ruby’s Ice Planet/Ice Home books as well as the Risdaverse and Corsairs series. So much fun!
I listened to the audible version of this story and loved it as much as I did the other books in this series. This author does a fantastic job with giving me paranormal stories that capture me from the very beginning and leaves me wanting more. Angie is pregnant and lonely. Vordis and Thrand are clones and they make it their mission to protect and watch over Angie. However, Vordis and Angie’s feelings for each other are more than they need and everything they want. Thrand loves a good competition, and Vordis’s need to have Angie just landed her in the middle of a battle . Vordis and Angie’s story is one that is funny, steamy and sweet. It definitely leaves me wanting more and I love that the characters from the previous stories are in this one. This series is one for all paranormal lovers. It does not disappoint.
This was my most anticipated release for this series – and it did not disappoint!
My heart really ached for Angie. The last thing she remembered was going to sleep in her own bed. Now, she is waking up on an alien ice planet heavily pregnant. And to make matters worse, she is being protected by two red men called a’ani that claim that they are dedicated to her. She felt like she was a walking incubator to some strange creature. Nobody really saw her because they only looked upon her tragic story. Vordis, however, was different. While he was one of the a’ani that was dedicated to her, he really saw her.
I’m still amazed by Ruby’s writing. She has such a vivid and creative imagination to keep these series going for so long. Not only that, but to still have people enjoying them month after month. She’s great.

Well, this started off a bit slow. There were a few places that I wasn’t real thrilled with, either. But once past those points, it was just a cheesy sweet love story. I did like that they sort of fell for each other before actual resonance, so it seemed more like “real” love than with the ones that resonate & then fall in love. No questions here that it’s just the “cootie” putting them together. I’m not sure I really like the rest of the girls, to want to read more in the series for their stories of resonance.
Angie’s Gladiator was such a sweet read! I know that seems odd to say about a Ruby Dixon novel, but this one wasn’t so steamy just melt your heart sweetness.
Vordis and Angie both need to figure out their identities now that they are on the Ice Planet. Angie wakes up preggers — SURPRISE! And Vordis now has the opportunity to be an individual, not just a clone. What does all this mean for them?
I was so charmed by Vordis. His misunderstanding of expressions, his sweet, romantic heart, how he had no concept of what it truly means to be free or even how to act around people. I wanted to beam myself over to the beach on NotHoth so that I could be friends with Angie and help her through this time.
And OMG I truly kept giggling loudly when Vordis could not catch on to knock knock jokes!
Truly this book just charmed me.
I was glad to see the story of Angie and Vordis finally be told. Since the beginning of the Icehome series, I’ve been waiting to find out the mystery of Angie’s unexpected advanced pregnancy. As well as why Vordis and Thrand are so drawn to her. The answers to both questions are not at all what I would have suspected.
This couple is so dang cute together. They are both a bit dorky and awkward around others, but they are perfect for each other. It is no surprise that Angie can tell Vordis apart from his brother clone right from the beginning. This becomes the very first stepping stone in their connection, the next being his easy acceptance of her attention. Both parties put a lot into their relationship, really attempting to communicate and be open with one another. Unfortunately, because of their vastly different life experiences and upbringings, a lot of misunderstanding ensues. And there are, of course, outside forces that cause problems for them as well. Luckily, however, they are eventually able to work through all of their issues and acheive their long sought happily-ever-after.
I love Ruby Dixon in general and her Ice Planet and Dragon series specifically. Started reading them on Kindle Unlimited for free and now buy each one as they are released. Some are shorter than others but always something new and women that are not “pretty pretty” and are as different as we are in real life.
LOVE!! Read it now. 😉
Completely awesome
I loved the way Vordis realizes his dream of being loved for himself, and of having a mate and children. I liked the interaction between Vordis and his brother/clone Thrand, as they work out ho to be separate and free men, while keeping their lifelong bond of brotherhood. I empathized with Angie, who not only woke up on Icehome after being kidnapped by alien slavers – she woke up pregnant, with no idea who/what the baby-daddy is. Between the uncertainty, the pregnancy hormones, and her attraction to Vordis, she has a lot to deal with, but she’s a grown woman and no shrinking violet. Great story!
Ruby Dixon’s Ice Home series is fantastic and this book is a wonderful addition . Very easy to read, like the characters and interesting world.
Once in a while, it’s nice to get a sweet love story than the HOT as heck one we’ve become accustom to and is eagerly awaiting. In this story, we get to find out the story of Angie and her Hot Sauce of a choice, Vordis.
Angie doesn’t feel like she belongs. I mean, who can blame her. She wakes up pregnant on an alien planet and is told she won’t ever be able to go home. Not only that, but it seems everyone is walking on eggshells with her since she doesn’t even know how she got pregnant and who’s baby it is. All she really want is someone to really talk with. However, the only ones to show her any interest at all are two hot as heck red aliens, the a’ani, Vordis and Thrand.
Vordis knows, from experience, that Angie is his to protect. It may be programmed into him but, for the first time ever, he feels more than what’s been “programmed” into him. He is an a’ani, and the a’ani are beneath so many other beings. As he struggles with the emerging feelings, he also has to deal with his a’ani brother Thrand, who see everything as nothing but a challenge. Will he be able to be something else for the first time in his life or will he be forever a slave to others and that of their wills? Will Angie be his or will he lose her to his a’ani brother or one of the others?
I enjoyed the slower pace of this story. The little jokes and the misunderstanding of things because, well, things get lost in translation, helped build the relationship between the two. It’s a sweeter story because pregnant women don’t always feel pretty, even on the best of days. Vordis is a sweet heart even if he doesn’t seem to know what the heck he is doing. He does what he feels is the right thing and it’s just melts this heart of mine. Can’t help but to fall in love with him as well. Well worth the wait.
I did not think Vordis and Thrand would be separated I knew they both wanted Angie a book that once I started I was not putting down so a very late night. If you like this Author this is a must-read book. I read a copy of this book through KU I also put this book in my to buy wish list.
I keep forgetting how great these books are! I have enjoyed every book in this series and this one is no exception. Angie has fascinated me from the time of their arrival on the ice planet. The emotional toll of carrying a baby that wasn’t accidental, wasn’t planned, but just there when you woke up and discovered you’d been abducted by aliens, and you have no idea what is growing inside of you, THAT show emotional fortitude. Vordis was Angie’s protector/shadow from the beginning too, and he was also trying to figure out how to be an individual with freedom. Ruby Dixon writes a highly nuanced story with layers of complicated characters all interwoven together with enough emotional drama and angst to keep you reading the book from cover to cover in one sitting! I loved this one and can’t wait for the next one!
