An ancient secret brotherhood.
A devastating new weapon of destruction.
When world-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to a Swiss research facility to analyze a mysterious symbol — seared into the chest of a murdered physicist — he discovers evidence of the unimaginable: the resurgence of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati… the most powerful underground … powerful underground organization ever to walk the earth. The Illuminati has now surfaced to carry out the final phase of its legendary vendetta against its most hated enemy — the Catholic Church.
Langdon’s worst fears are confirmed on the eve of the Vatican’s holy conclave, when a messenger of the Illuminati announces they have hidden an unstoppable time bomb at the very heart of Vatican City. With the countdown under way, Langdon jets to Rome to join forces with Vittoria Vetra, a beautiful and mysterious Italian scientist, to assist the Vatican in a desperate bid for survival.
Embarking on a frantic hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and even the most secretive vault on earth, Langdon and Vetra follow a 400-year-old trail of ancient symbols that snakes across Rome toward the long-forgotten Illuminati lair… a clandestine location that contains the only hope for Vatican salvation.
An explosive international thriller, Angels & Demons careens from enlightening epiphanies to dark truths as the battle between science and religion turns to war.

Just read it! AWESOME! It’s even better than the DaVinci Code! IMO
One of the first books I could never put down. This book had twist and turns on every page.
Dan Brown knows how to jeep you reading, guving you enough to keep thinking you’ve got the mystery solved and then slipping in a perfect twist. I’m not a fan of the theology or representation of God, but this does weave in history and science in a fun way.
This was his first book. It did not do to well until after The DaVinci Code came out. But I liked it. It helps to explain some of the things in DaVinci Code.
All I need to decide to buy a novel is to see Dan Brown as the author!
4.5+ out of 5 stars to Dan Brown’s Angels & Demons, the first book in his “Robert Langdon” thriller series. When I saw the movie trailer for The Da Vinci Code, I was hooked and immediately bought the book so I could read it first. When I got home, I realized it was not the first in the series…
I refused to read it… and then I went to the …
Dan Brown is a favorite author!
Angels and Demons by Dan Brown was Brown’s Most science oriented book. I read it a while ago, but as I remember the father of a famous scientist is killed. His discovery will destroy the world if it gets out. It involves the collision of positive energy and negative energy which will lead to a mega explosion. It was engrossing, page turning and I …
This is one of those books that make me forget any tasks or appointments I might have, as it compels me to read it in one go. Most books I can lay aside and continue reading at a later moment, not this one. I found it an enjoyable sequence to The Da Vinci Code.
Disgusting language. Would have been much better without it
I enjoyed this book – I do find the constant reference to status symbols such as smart cars and watches or specific clothing or labels that the main character wears pretentious and annoying, but the pace and the iconology, the interesting art references and historical facts are captivating – even if some of those points are fictitious and …
Even though the movie featured legendary Tom Hanks, the book still does a much better job of portraying the story than the movie did. Robert Langdon is the character neither very close to nor very far from the reader. Throughout the story, you neither develop an affinity nor a resentment to his existence. He just comes across as a fluid …
Kept me thinking and involved. Loved the history behind the story line.
I really enjoyed this book! I think people are over analyzing it and being more critical than they are with other books.
author is selling a false ideology to his readers and sadly too few of them even realize it.
Standard Dan Brown fare. Good for plane rides or the beach.
Fantastic book to start a series. I LOVE it, and I’m glad I found it. I love the characters, and the story.
I love the twists in potential suspects in Dan Brown’s books. His knowledge of architecture and geography make his books a virtual world tour. The characters are engaging and easy to empathize with and care about.
great read
Amazing, can’t get enough of this author.
