Cameron didn’t realize how much he loved his grandparents’ bakery until Angelo Marchesi, a man he’s hated since high school, threatened to take it away. But Cameron owes Angelo a debt.A debt he can’t pay…Unless he accepts Angelo’s indecent proposal and risks finding out how thin the line between love and hate really is.
Wow. What is it about bad guys with big hearts? I dunno, but I really like it. When I say bad, I don’t mean mundane kind of bad. Angelo is part of a crime family, a mafia, or also known as the mob. He’s not living a life of a law abiding citizen. That said, he’s very loyal and protective of his family and friends. Oh, and he doesn’t take no for an answer.
Cameron went to high school with Angelo for a while. Their animosity began during those days, and carried on until they met up again as adults. They say there’s a thin line between love and hate, and they are definitely skirting it.
I absolutely loved this book. I was not happy about having to put it down for silly trivial things like grocery shopping, running other errands, or sleeping. The way Silvia Violet writes, you’re hooked before you even know what hit you. The characters are multidimensional and even if you’d be inclined to dislike them, you can’t help yourself. You will fall in live with the entire family, even if a tiny part of yourself is afraid of them.
This is book two in the series, and while reading book one first would definitely add to the enjoyment, it’s not completely necessary to do so. There’s enough details, and explanations given, that you can read it as a stand alone without being lost/confused. This is the first book I’ve read in the series, and I can tell you I want to read book one really bad now. I know what happens, basically, but there’s something to be said about reading the entire book and seeing it unfold yourself. If knowing spoilers bothers you, I absolutely recommend starting with book one.

Beginning of us
Are there any extra Marchesi guys? If so I’d like to call dibs. Like Cameron says, Angelo may not be an angel but he is HOT! He’s also possessive, arrogant and surprisingly tender. He doesn’t need to play by the rules as he makes his own and I’d follow him to the ends of the earth. I can see why Angelo fell for Cameron though. There’s something about him that grabs ahold of your heart and makes him unforgettable. I couldn’t get enough of watching Cameron needle Angelo and enjoying all the repercussions. They burn when they’re together and you may want to read with a fan. I need Devil’s story as I’m itching to see what’s going on with him. A fantastic continuation of this series.
Angelo is the second book in The Marchesi Family series, and can easily be read as a standalone, although I found it much more fun reading it directly after Lucien, the first book in the series.
Angelo, or Angel as everyone calls him, is brother of the The Marchesi Family head and one of the most trusted enforcers. Angel knows how to get a job done, and he isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. When his high school crush comes back to Boston, Angel immediately knows what he has to do: make Cameron his. High school had been a tough time for both Angel and Cam, but now Angel finally has a second chance. Cam moved back to Boston after his father was murdered and left the family bakery to him. Although his childhood had been less than desirable, Cam still has fond memories of his loving grandparents and the bakery they devoted their lives to. Unfortunately, Cam’s no-good, dead father messed up the financial standing of the bakery and now Cam finds himself in debt to the one person he can’t stand: Angel. It’s a rocky start, but soon these two men realize how perfect they are for each other.
I loved this book. Angel and Cameron’s relationship was intense and full of fire – Angel demanded and Cameron pushed back, both of them loving the fight and Cam’s eventual submission. But even with all that friction in their sex lives, their relationship had it’s sweet and tender moments as the two men fell in love with each other. There was a lot of action and drama in this book, and Silvia Violet did not flinch away from mafia-level violence. These men are in the mob and dangerous, deadly things happen in that world.
Michael Dean narrated the audiobook and did a spectacular job. The voices for the characters were perfect and consistent, and I had no trouble differentiating who was speaking. Michael put so much energy into his voice during the sex and action scenes. I was either on the edge of my seat, or fanning myself from hot the performance was. I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook and definitely recommend it.
Angelo is the second book in the Marchesi Family by author Silvia Violet. I really loved this dark and gritty story. It is told in dual pov which really helps me get into the mindset of both characters. This is my first time reading this series. I was not lost.
Cameron in high school was nerdy, quiet, and scrawny. He grew up to be book smart, successful but not happy. He has always had a crush on Angelo but knows he has mob connections and he is someone to stay clear of.
When he comes back to town and inherits the family bakery, he gets way more than a messy untidy building. He gets his father’s debt to Angelo’s family.
Cameron knows he doesn’t have the money to pay off what Angelo says he owes. He doesn’t want to work for the Marchesi family either. But something about Angelo still calls to him.
Angelo will get his hands dirty if he has to. He will get what he wants by hook or by crook. He is not scared to go for it. His one weakness has always been Cam. But now he is going to take the man he could never get.
I liked Angelo is honorable, kind, rough around the edges, and very sexy. Yumm.
I loved the pace of this story and the memorable characters. I loved and I am excited to read the next book in this series. When you want a darker romance with memorable characters this is the one you want to pick up.
Five Shooting Stars
Cameron, a bakery owner, is in over his head with a debt to the mob Angelo. Angelo makes it his mission to get Cameron to pay off his debt on his knees. They don’t have an easy time admitting and accepting their love/hate relationship.
I loved the tension between these two it kept me turning the page until the end. I definitely recommend this book!
This book was intense… so intense… The story caught me since the beginning and I couldn’t stop reading until I finished it. The plot was complex and wicked, so I really needed to know what was going to happen. Ms Violet bent the line between love and hate with such an intensity that in some parts, I cried, in other I suffered with Cameron or ached with Angelo and in others I got so frustrated that I just wanted to stop reading but I simply couldn’t. Difficult to read with a lot of angst, because the masterful way the author described the emotions of the characters, and how their dialogues and interactions led them to heartwarming but at the same time heartbreaking situations. This book if possible is even better than book 1. I can’t wait to read what happens next!
I received this book from Gay Romance Reviews and I am voluntarily leaving an honest opinion.
Wow! Totally hot stuff!! Loved Angelo and Cam. A great second chance romance! I enjoy how these mobsters can be so lovable and vicious at the same time. I can’t wait for the next book!!
Angelo and Cameron were acquaintances in high school. 15 yrs on, things have taken a turn..
Cameron’s family owes Angelo’s and Angelo intends to collect.
Together they have some pretty hot hate sex. I enjoyed the way their relationship progressed.
Great story that had me invested the whole way through.
4.5stars
Angelo comes across as an uncaring, dangerous mobster, but deep down he’s a good man in lust with his high school crush Cameron. Cameron comes back to town to deal with his grandparents’ bakery that he has inherited from his father when he passes. He thought he owned everything free and clear, but his father had gotten himself indebted to the Marchesi family. He must now pay for that debt with Angelo. I really enjoyed the banter and “hate” between these two. All the side supporting characters in this story were really good comic relief at times. Can’t wait for Devil’s story!

A misunderstanding and secret crushes leads to fifteen years of separation. When they both reunite denial of their feelings and the so called need for revenge on Angel side makes their connection choppy. But when Cameron life is in danger Angelo makes everything possible to protect him.
Their way out of denial is slow work thanks to past insecurities but their feelings reaches a point where they can’t be denied and are embraced with all the consequences. Cameron prefers to lie to police to save his new family when an unwanted evidence is found at a fire scene and they finally admits to their feelings.
It was an interesting read where the characters find that love can be found in unexpected places and that you have to fight for your happiness.
Can’t wait for the next one.
