I have enjoyed all of this series so far!
Wonderful mystery series filled with red herrings and adventures set in 1930’s. Mrs. Marchmont is a woman of a certain age, who is still able to attract the attentions of a lead detective or a notorious jewel thief while she solves a murder in beautiful settings. Very cozy Mysteries, delightful to read.
Great “who done it”read.
Effective and accurate historical details/context add to the depth of both characters and plot.
Engaging mystery in the style and spirit of Agatha Christie. Enjoyable.
Loved it. Fun read
One of my favorite series! Great characters and mysteries – won’t disappoint!
Excellent read!
Great Literature it isn’t , but very fun and entertaining. In these days of death and disaster, nice to have a mind candy book. I enjoyed these books.
One of my series~
Quick reads
I enjoy books set in jolly old England during the time when the aristocracy had “old piles” in the country and houses in London. Despite the fact that the plots of these books are predictable, I enjoyed reading them nonetheless.
Really enjoyed. Wish remaining books in serious were more affordable
Similar to Agatha Christie
Angela Marchmont is like Miss Marple. Thoroughly enjoyable. Love these mysteries. I enjoyed the romance in book 6.
Angela Marchmont is such a great character. She has a class and respectability that shines through. I love reading this author’s books. They are relaxing and fun. A true treasure. Delightful.
Intriguing
I’ve read six of the books in the series and enjoyed them all.
The English lady detective series in the Roaring Twenties is as entertaining to read as Miss Fischer’s Mysteries is to watch on PBS! Enjoyed Angela’s circle of friends, her mysterious past, and the mystery that must be solved in each of Clara Benson’s offerings. Relaxing and entertaining in one.
Very light reading, but very enjoyable. Angela Marchmont is the quintessential upper class English woman of the early years of the 20th century.
