Thoroughly enjoyed this clean read!
have several of her books. intriguing characters, intricate story lines, a little humor thrown in to round it out. I find myself guessing what the outcome will be only to turn the page and see the possibility was an error in my judgement. definitely a page turner. reminds me of agatha christie who I read many times over. same goes for clara benson. I was hooked with the first book and remain so with each of the others. just bought another of your books. captivating, thought provoking, exciting and relaxing all at the same time. so glad I found you!
Enjoyed, liked the twists and turns.
A pleasant read. These books weren’t so suspenseful that I sat on the edge of my chair or couldn’t put the book down, but I did enjoy them.
Great characters and a good story. Love Angela!
Great mysteries. I want to read more.
Oh, to be as observant, calm and independently wealthy as Mrs. Marchmont!?!
I read the first three books. They are cozy mysteries. Kept me guessing. I will read more Clara Benson books.
If you are a fan of Agatha Christy’s Miss Marple you wil enjoy her fellow female detective Angela Marchmont.
Lots of red herrings keep you trying to figure out who done it. These books are easy to read & move along at good pace.
This is a very nice series, with appealing characters. The mysteries are good, and the development of the series is nice – so many series are just formulaic: if you have read one, you have read them all. A good read.
Too long to get to the conclusion
I love Angela Marchmont! I wish there were more than ten books in the series.
Like characters and how author tried to stay true to the details of the era the stories take place. Great mysteries can’t wait to read more
This is a series for lovers of mysteries set in the 1920’s . The stories are filled with wonderful characters and twists and turns throughout. Highly recommend. Looking forward to the next book.
Strong characters in realistic period (1920’s England) settings provide an insight into life st that time.
Entertaining mysteries featuring a unique and impressive woman sleuth, Angela Marchmont. Perfect for fans of Golden Age mysteries, a series in which each book can stand alone.
“Privileged” is an attitude generally attributed to millennials today, but it has nothing on the attitude of upperclass snobs in the first two stories of this set. Angela Marchmont is a breath of fresh air trying to solve murder mysteries among the quibbling members of the house parties involved. Typically English in its approach, each book trails loads of red herrings across the path before coming up with a surprise solution.
The third book involves a treasure rather than a murder, but with the added twist of an enthusiastic 12 year old with a sassy mouth and bad manners. Ultimately, she and Angela, of course, solve the mystery together.
I enjoy the character development
A bit slow and predictable but a fun enough read. I did read the 1-3 series. Not really a page turner can’t put it down type of story. Fun nevertheless.
too much description, not enough actual action. Too simplistic to be called a mystery
