The Magical Creatures Academy is the most secure location for Selene to defend herself from those who seek to claim her power. As usual with Selene, nothing is as expected. When the fearsome witch, Naomi Nettles, breaks through the academy’s fortifications, she delivers Selene to someone far worse, someone Selene had hoped never to cross paths with again. But on her quest to find Quinn, Selene will … again.
But on her quest to find Quinn, Selene will endure whatever she must.
She’s the only sirangel in existence. She’s about to make the most of that fact to reunite with the man she loves.
Angel Magic is the second book in an exciting new magic-filled urban fantasy, featuring a starry-eyed siren, one hot shifter, fearsome vamps, and fairies with ‘tude ten times their size.more
Lucia Ashta is a wonderfully. Creative author and I’ve loved every series she’s written. That’s no less true in the case of her Magical Creatures Academy World novels and, in particular, her latest, Angel Magic (Sirangel, Book 2). The publisher’s description of this series, and book, is precisely right: “an exciting new magic-filled urban fantasy, featuring a starry-eyed siren, one hot shifter, fearsome vamps, and fairies with ‘tude ten times their size.” What it leaves out though is just how superbly written and perfectly plotted (exciting to the max even without the nice romantic element) the book is, or how superb the cast of characters, not just Selene and Quinn who you want to root for but also baddies like Naomi and, really, the entire cast. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
Angell Magic is Book 2 in the Sirangel (Magical Creatures Academy World) series. Lucia Ashta again creates a phenomenal book. Her imagination and ability to create awesome worlds and wonderfully realistic characters are second to none. In Book 2 we find Selene training hard and trying to find Quinn. Because she is snatched from MCA by Naomi Nettles and deposited in Dimorelli’s dungeon, she finds Quinn. You will have to read the book to see how they escape an what is facing them when they do. There is a cliffhanger ending, but it only makes you want more and to find out where Lucia is taking us next. This is a marvelous action packed page turning read that I highly recommend (It is not necessary to read Siren Magic, Book 1 first, but I know your enjoyment of Angel Magic will be greater if you do). Received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
This is a fantastic second book! A well written exciting, magic-filled urban fantasy with a fantastic storyline and is filled with twists and turns, danger, mystery and intrigue ! Along with fantastic characters including a kick ass siren, a hot shifter, fearsome vamps, and fairies, this had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! Just awesome!
ONE THRILLING DELIGHT!!!
Ah Snap! A spinning rocking it all the way through these startling mishaps and stunning events that launch your emotions exploding front and center. Lucia totally nailed this bad boy 100% on point, true to life form in this page turning delight. Thrusting along with one dramatic storyline and gripping plot that bring this bad boy together beautifully. Sparks fly as confusion, intrigue and mayhem ensues with danger and suspense glore. Struggling through all the trials and tribulations keeping pace with a slew of twists and turns along with bumps and bruises that propel this baby to life flawlessly. The characters are authentic, approachable and realistic with such depth and individuality it flows along fluidly without a glitch. The scenes were so vividly detailed and descriptive it gives the illusion you were along for the ride. Remarkable job Lucia, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
In the second installment of the Sirangel series “Angel Magic, Book 2,” Lucia Ashta brings the reader back to the magical world she created. Selene is under the protection of the Magical Creatures Academy from those who wish to harness her powers for their own nefarious reasons. While she hasn’t been accepted to the school, she is being trained by them by the Pegasus centaur Egan. She has been separated from Quinn, a shifter she is inexplicably connected to in book one and is determined to reunite with him. We follow Selene along her quest to find him and learn more about herself along the way. This book was just as full of adventure and snark as the first one. Selene, a bit naïve and innocent due to her upbringing, is still learning and growing and pulling the reader with her.
Ashta provides lines that had me laughing out loud. One of my favorites, “The early bird chokes on the worm because it’s so sleep deprived it can’t function properly,” was tossed out by Fianna, a character the author introduced in an earlier series, Magical Creatures Academy: Night Shifter. I love that she has included familiar characters in this series as well. Also, pretty sure Fianna is my spirit fairy. “Pegataur” has to be one of the best names she has so far for a creature, at least to me. It is especially fun when paired with Egan, the creature assigned to train Selene.
The author kept the plot going forward throughout the book and kept me turning the pages along with it to find out what happens next. Sometimes, a second book can be boring as more information dumps are likely to occur, but Ashta does a good job with interweaving them into the story without them feeling like boring filler. As for her characters, we have Selene, who is naïve and perhaps even a bit too timid, who develops well within this book. She starts to own what she is and the reader learns about her powers right along with her. Since she doesn’t have anyone to rely on other than herself, she really starts to shine in this book, although I wish that had begun just a tad sooner in the plot-line. It still worked really well. Quinn is brought back in as well, and his development is coming along moving away from the bright-eyed boy he was in the first book. Dark and broody gets me every time although he doesn’t quite lose all of his brightness. Hopefully Selene will get characters around her that she can trust more.
Overall, this is a very enjoyable read and continuation of the series. I seriously read it all in one sitting and I’m so ready for the next book. Selene is coming into her own and finding out just what she can do. I can’t wait to read book 3: “Fusion Magic” and see where Lucia Ashta is going to take the series!
***This book does end on a cliffhanger, but seriously, read it, it is sooooooo good!”***
I received an ARC of this book for my fair and honest review.
If I had to use only one word for this book it would be “Luscious”. Absolutely Luscious! Selene is desperate to save Quinn. Since she has no clue how to wield her magic, she ends up wingin it (pun intended). She and Quinn have an unusually strong attraction to one another. And boy is it strong! I think “Luscious” is a perfect word for it. Also powerful. And Ms Ashta very tactfully handles the description of their relationship. Luckily some of the lessons Selene learned while in the Academy has rubbed off and Selene is able to out maneuver one of their captors. A few twists and turns later comes a big surprise at the end. I am definitely anxious to read the next book in this series. This was a wonderful read!
Amazing!!!
This book continues with the story of Selene and her struggles to find out what she is and what her powers are, she is training really hard but is suddenly kidnapped and imprisoned and so the aventure begins… She and Quinn find each other again and their unique connection gets stronger than ever… Now Selene has to go back home to find her tribe lider so she can help her save Quinn… OMG, what will happen now??? … can’t wait for the next book!!!
Angel Magic is the second book of Lucia Ashta’s Sirangel series. I just recently found Lucia, and surprised myself with how much I enjoy her writing. I was never into YA, but she spins a very fast paced, edge of your seat story! I enjoy the continued development of Selene and Quinn’s relationship. They are brought together again as captives of a very nasty vampire. Selene needs to find her magic to help save them both. I love the development of this storyline, but yet again am left hanging at the end. Book three needs to come out soon! This is one of those books that you will not get to bed until you are done!
Selene finds finds herself through all the trials and tribulations. And she finds a little bit more 😉
It starts off exactly where book #1 ends. You follow the characters and learn so much more! I can’t wait for the next book!
A fantastic read. This is a fantastic series that grabs you right from the beginning of the book until the end of the read. Its a real page turner, once I started reading I couldn’t put it down until I was finish. If your a lover of the magic fantasy world and Mermaids this is definitely the read for you. Selene has to face someone she was hoping she wouldn’t half to face. Now can Selene and Quinn be together. This is definitely a must read. This Author has really hit a home run.
