An expert in an otherwise male-dominated field, Angela has spent her life studying snow and ice in order to cope with the never-ending heartaches associated with her parents’ divorce and her own ex-fiancé’s betrayal. When Anders comes barreling back into her life, to take her home on her father’s orders, she’s not amused… and she has absolutely no intention of obeying.
Particularly not when she understands why her father demands her return.
Anders can feel the undercurrents, but she won’t explain what’s going on…
Can they bury their differences before danger overtakes them both and his dream of a future together dies before it’s ever had a chance to start?

I really enjoyed this action packed story.
This story is well written, very suspenseful it’s so intriguing and some what dark storyline . It’s out and out a fantastic and unique story . Angel is fabulous I love her personality a strong, independent and kick a$$ woman has over come a terrible childhood . Ander is an all alpha take charge hero he is very trustworthy and has it bad for Angel .I love the interaction and chemistry between those two . The characters are great well except for the bad ones .
I highly recommend reading this story for your enjoyment . A 5star read for sure.

Just when I think “how many more good stories can Dale Mayer write,” she blows me away with this one.
Anders met Angel a year ago, and it was like a jolt of lightning. Learning from her that she was engaged, albeit to a womanizing fiancé, Anders activated his “never take another man’s woman” honor code and walked away, but he couldn’t forget her. When assigned to a job involving rescuing England’s Prime Minister’s glaciologist daughter from a mountain in Switzerland, Anders planned to look Angel up when the job was over to see whether she was still on that side of the world, had married, and was ok or not. Turns out that his target for rescue and protection was Angelica, the Angel he knew.
From the get-go, sparks fly between the two, and the action never stops. Angelica closed herself off to romance after seeing firsthand what Anders had seen in her cheating fiancé a year ago, but Anders is working hard to win her love. However, there is something a little off about this assignment, and Anders is determined to figure out just what is really going on. There’s something Angel isn’t telling them, and it appears that the Prime Minister may not have given Levi full disclosure either. It’s exciting right to the very end. You’re going to love this one!
Pulls you in from beginning to end
As soon I received this book I started reading it and the only time I stopped was to sleep and picked up again when I woke up. I love this series and Dale Mayer’s writing. You don’t have to read the series to read this book. You just need to know that Levi’s team keeps falling in love on jobs and it keeps going. Lots of suspense and some romance. Reading is my way of relaxing and letting all my troubles fade away as I get lost in the story unfolding as I turn the pages. I enjoyed reading Anders and Angelica’s story.
Anders had met Angelica almost a year before and there had been an instant electric attraction and he realized affected him like no other woman ever had. But she was engaged and he walked away from her because that is just the kind of man he is.
When Anders discovered who he was being sent to bring down from the top of the Swiss Alps and keep safe was none other than the woman who had stolen his heart the year before. When he discovered she was no longer engaged it made his world a little brighter. Would he walk away from her a second time or convince her where she belonged, by his side?
This book is intriguing, action packed, mysterious with a small dose of bedroom action. It kept me turning the pages and on the edge of my seat from beginning to end
Fascinating, fast-paced romantic suspense!
Anders and Angelica experienced an instant connection a year ago, but after their one steamy kiss, he finds out that she’s engaged to someone else, so he walks away.
Now, her father hires his team to bring her safely back to England before his enemies find her, so Anders and his team head off to Switzerland, hoping to get there in time. Angelica is a glacier scientist, so finding her requires a two-day trek up the mountains in the middle of a blizzard, finding her, and bringing her safely back down.
The danger and edge of excitement is always there, but that doesn’t stop Anders from making sure that his Angel knows he’s serious about pursuing their relationship now that he knows she’s single. I loved how he came in like a force of nature, not just in the physical sense to save her and her fellow scientists, but also in the alpha-confident emotional commitment he makes to her from the start, knowing that she’ll eventually allow her heart to catch up.
Once they get to England, however, Angel is back in the mess that is her relationship with her father, and I loved how she was finally able to stand up to him, knowing that Anders and the rest of the Legendary Security heroes had her back. The truth of the threat against her was shocking and went so much deeper than anyone imagined, but in the end justice prevailed and Anders and Angel got their HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I was kindly provided this book as an ARC; in exchange for my honest review. This is book 16 of 17 in the Heroes for Hire series. This book centers around Anders and Angelica (Angel). Anders is a newer hire for the Texas based Heroes for Hire paramilitary group run by Levi and Ice. Angel is a woman Anders met the year before; he kind of started something hot with her, only for her to “blast” him with the info that she’s become engaged to the other guy she’d been dating. Angel works as a scientist measuring glacier shrinking & movement. Anders & his team of 4 men (Harrison, Reyes, Dezi, & North (who was written to appear in beginning-but was left out??)) ate hired to locate Angel at the top of a glacier, protect her & transport her home. The story evolves somewhat unexpectedly in the beginning; but then wasn’t a “huge” surprise in the end. I will say I thought my dad would have won “worst father of the year” many times over, but, Angel’s dad definitely takes the cake on this one. This is a fast & fairly entertaining read. I’d probably give it 3 1/2 stars, but I’m going the glass half-full route as Ms. Dale’s an incredible author.
