An intimate portrait of the life of Jackie O… wife, a devoted mother, a First Lady—a queen in her own right.
But all reigns must come to an end. Once JFK travels to Dallas and the clock ticks down those thousand days of magic in Camelot, Jackie is forced to pick up the ruined fragments of her life and forge herself into a new identity that is all her own, that of an American legend.

Loved this book. It included back stories that were interesting. Have always been fascinated with the Kennedy’s and this did not disappoint
If you enjoy reading about the Kennedys you will love this book. It is easy as a reader to believe the book was written by Jackie O, instead of by the author who researched this book heavily. There were many things in this book that I questioned if they were true, but after finishing the book my research showed they were all true. In November 1963 I was 14 years old. I will never forget the assassination of our President and the funeral procession, but I was not aware of many of the facts surrounding what the country believed to be “Camelot”.
really unhistorical fiction
Even rho’ it was fictional, it was believable. Gave me a better insight to the world of the 1960 and 70. I had often wondered about the marriage other than the money of Jackie and Ari. Maybe she did really care for him. Would have liked another chapter about her relationship with Maurice.
It was fascinating reading but I couldn’t help but wonder about what was fact and what was fiction.
Would love to read a sequel, maybe Beyond Camelot?
I was left with a general feeling of being hoodwinked.
This book was well written and gave details from Jackie’s point of view and seemed very insightful. I cried several times and found myself not wanting the book to end.
This was a compelling story because Jackie was the voice. You feel the emotion, the conflict, and the grace that embodies this amazing woman.
Well researched
I loved this book as I lived in this time period. It is great. I did not want to put it down.
I absolutely loved this book. Had a hard time putting it down
Really enjoyed reading about the JFK years from Jackies perspective. Also enjoyed reading more about her life and choices she made. Enjoyable read!
informative and interesting
It is a great read for those of us old enough to remember Camelot and the tragic way it ended.
Even though it’s fiction, it has the feel of reality because Jacqueline Kennedy has been well researched. It was clear to see how she went from a sheltered, naive young woman to developing enormous self-protective coping mechanisms. I enjoyed reading it.
The ‘spell’ that this woman wove, over all, shows just how enchanting and ‘connected’ she could be. This is a volume that speaks for itself. An enjoyable read!
Ms. Thornton is quickly becoming my favorite author! I loved American Princess and this latest historical fiction does not disappoint. The reader is drawn into Kennedy saga with every turn of the page! I can’t wait to see what she blesses us with in her next release!
Well written, showed Jackie as a strong, assertive, creative woman. Even though I knew her story and lived through her sad times as well as the happy ones, it was interesting to see her depicted through the author’s eyes.
I enjoyed it, but in retrospect the overly-positive portrayal of Jackie was a turnoff.
I really enjoyed this book, and I read it straight through! It left me wanting to read more about the Kennedy family.
