Hugh & Brianna seem like opposite ends of the spectrum. He loves taking risks in both his personal & business life. Brianna wants to take things slow & safe. She doesn’t want anything to keep her from being there for her daughter, not even a boyfriend. Hugh is a professional race car driver so his risks are actually calculated risks but that doesn’t make a difference for Brianna. Can they find a way to get to a happy medium?
I loved the way Hugh’s attitude started to change once he met Brianna. He included Brianna’s daughter in his plans & started decreasing the risks he was taking. He just couldn’t walk away & leave them alone. Brianna needed to realize that instead of her attention being split between her daughter & a boyfriend, there would be two people giving her attention & watching out for her. I loved hearing more about the Braden’s & seeing another get his HEA.
Brianna had given up on her love life since she got pregnant and was left alone to raise her daughter. Her plans were to dedicate her life to her daughter and focus on work to support her until she was eighteen yeras old. But nothing warned her that a handsome, kind, overprotective guy would appear and make Brianna rethink her plans. Hugh is the most protective book boyfriend I’ve ever read. A Braden, handsome, rich, considerate, well mannered just like his siblings, but also overprotective. Even before meeting Brianna´s daughter, he included her in every plans and showed his great care and family oriented values. How could Brianna shield herself from this passion? Another 5 stars read from Addison Cole.
And Then There Was Us is truly a romantic story! When Hugh Braden car racer gets setup on a blind date in a sports bar and meets Brianna a single mother bartender at the bar. Brianna and Hugh are instantly attracted to each other but she won’t date until her daughter turns eighteen. Brianna is a struggling and Hugh becomes the knight in shining armor. I loved how Hugh goes out of his way to create beautiful memories for Brianna. Addison Cole wrote a beautiful romantic story that is heartwarming and a strong sense of family. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review of it.
Hugh was not looking for love. He was a race car driver and a big player. Brianna, who worked 2 jobs and a single mom raising her daughter. She wasn’t looking for love either. She swore off men until he daughter was 18. Brianna worked at the restaurant where Hugh had a blind date. When his date ended bad he returned to the bar to seek out Brianna. He found himself thinking about her. Hugh returned iften to speak and learn about Brianna.
I loved this book. Addison Cole never disappoins. Her sweet stories take you on an emotional ride. This book has no cliffhanger and has a HEA.
OMG! Hugh Braden is swoon worthy and Bree is primed to be swept off her feet! This is such a wonderfully written romance that shows us all that good men still exist and that fairy tales can come true! This family is remarkable and only brings joy to my heart with each and every story!
This has got to be my favorite book of the series (I think I say that with each!!!)…Hugh and Brianna have me from start to finish!!! I couldn’t put this down…it just played with my emotions, from both sides!! Another 5 star read from Addison Cole and I can’t wait for more!!!
This is one of my favorite books in the Sweet with Heat stories. I loved it. I really felt as though Hugh and Brianna could feel the connection right away, because sometimes you just *know*. I loved how protective Brianna felt for Layla as well, but Hugh showed her what a good man is and how he treats them both is very swoon worthy. Brianna had a few issues to get over, but when a situation came up and Hugh proved himself to her she was able to deal with them, as well as see what kind of man he is. They both showed a lot of growth in a short time, especially from what we had seen of Hugh in the previous Braden books. I absolutely loved the ending, it was great to see the whole family together, and to get a peek at the Remingtons.
This story is what I would call a modern day fairy tale. Hugh Braden is a well known race car driver. He’s always lived life in the fast lane, but watching all his brothers and sister settle down has made Hugh realize that something is missing in his own life. One night he stops in a local watering hole in Richmond for a drink and with just one look into the soulful eyes of Brianna Heart, Hugh knows that his whole world is about to change.
Brianna Heart is a single mom who after finding out she was pregnant right after graduating college, put into effect an 18 year plan to devote her entire life to making sure her daughter was happy. She’s 6 years into the plan and has no problem keeping it, until Hugh Braden. All it took was seeing Hugh in the bar one night and she’s suddenly feeling like she may need to make some adjustments to her plan!
This story tugged at my heartstrings. Brianna’s daughter, Layla, is absolutely adorable. The way that Hugh treats Brianna is the way every woman wishes she was treated, but the love he gives to Layla just melts your heart! Hugh was a true prince in Layla’s eyes and he treated Layla like a little princess.
This is a story that everyone needs to read. It will have us all wishing for our very own prince. Great job Addison Cole! You’ve written another amazing story!
And Then There Was Us Book 6 in Sweet with Heat: Weston Brothers

5 Stars
What an amazing happy heartwarming story! I fully enjoyed throughout!
“As long as you love what you do, then it’s a fine living indeed.”
“Three Musketeers. Hugh didn’t think his heart could hold another bit of happiness, and it opened up and swallowed that one right up.”
Recommend. Great read!
Oh my gosh Hugh the ultimate player has to be the most romantic as well. Brianna doesn’t stand a chance when Hugh focuses on her. Addison has such a way of writing she makes you think your right there involved in theses lives and by the time you get to the last page your depressed because you have to say goodbye!!
I am still loving the Bradens. This story is about Hugh. We all have choices in life and Hugh has decided to change some things in his life. When he accidentally meets Brianna, then his new life really begins. You would maybe think, since being a Braden this would be easy. Brianna is dealing with some issues of her own. Will the two of them work through the issues that seem to keep popping up? What will Layla have to say about all of this? I love Brianna’s friends and family. They certainly try to help her out. This is a great love story that I think any of us would like to have. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I received an ARC of this book, but my opinion is my own.
If you want a book that gives you warm fuzzy feelings and you want to keep reading it through the night, then “And Then There Was Us’ is a great choice. I loved this book so much. I realized while reading it that it enveloped me in a warm romantic feeling. Hugh Braden, a race car driver, ends up in a small town bar to meet a blind date. The bartender/waitress is a hardworking single mom named Brianna who he is instantly attracted to. Needless to say the blind date didn’t last long and this story is the love story between Brianna and Hugh plus Brianna’s daughter Layla. For those who want a warm sweet romance like you might see in a Hallmark movie, then this is a perfect fit. It’s a great read.
I loved this book. This story follows Hugh Braden, he is in the spotlight as his career is a race car driver. He has been known to live the fast life on the track and also with women. He barely gets to know their names before he speeds off, that is until he meets Brianna Heart. Brianna is a single mother who swore off men with an 18 year plan with 12 more years left in this plan. She is a busy mom working two jobs and taking care of her daughter with no time to stop and breathe let alone time for a man. Who needs a man in their lives anyways? Well once they meet she struggles with her instant attraction to Hugh and trying to make sure her heart and her daughters heart is protected. This story is such a great feel good story, I would say the best Braden story so far! Will the spotlight tear them apart, will her fear of not being enough not go away, is he ready to actually settle down…read it to find out!
Addison Cole has written the most touching story for the youngest of Hal Braden’s children. Hugh is a race car driver who always has a beautiful woman on his arm and as he leads a fast paced life. He is at his home for a few weeks before his last race of the season when he goes to an out of the way bar and meets the lovely Brianna Heart. Brianna has her own set of challenges being a single mom. This story is so tender and so touching. I shed tears during a most beautiful scene near the end of the book (no spoilers here but you will know it when you read it). Much praise for Addison Cole and this unexpectedly emotional story.
I really enjoyed this book by Addison Cole. Loved the first meeting between Hugh Braden and Brianna Heart. It was nice to see Hugh step into the hero shoes and really be there for Brianna and of course Layla. I liked how Hugh took charge with Brianna’s car, with the amazing surprise he gave Brianna and the play for Layla, that was definitely a perfect touch for the little girl who had taken his heart and nicknamed him ‘Prince Hugh’ which is definitely fitting for him. Who doesn’t want their own Prince Charming and this story definitely gave Brianna her happily ever after that she is most deserving of. I liked that the family played a big part in this and I enjoyed Treat and Max and their part in everything as well. The ending at Hal’s ranch in Weston, perfect. This is definitely one of my top books by Addison Cole. One of my favorite lines from this story was, “It could only have been you, Brianna, and it will only ever be you.”
Brianna has a plan, no men until her daughter is 18. She was already abandoned by her father and the father of her daughter and does not expect any man to stay. Hugh lived the fast life and is ready for something more fulfilling. He wants to convince Brianna he is trustworthy and loyal, but she has so many walls. A great read.
“All I can tell you is that when fate steps in, you have no choice. You do whatever it takes to follow it.”
She has a plan to stay single; he has a plan to make her his. Hugh Braden is sexy, famous and he loves his fast paced life, but he’s starting to get tired of being surrounded by fake people. He his numb towards the ones attracted only by his good looks and money until he meets a certain barmaid that is clueless about who he is. Hugh is starting to realize that there is so much more then living the way he did; he starting to understand what is really important. Bree is a hard working single mom and she has a plan of staying away from men and concentrate on the only important precious thing; her daughter. But one night, this sweet handsome nice and oh so sexy stranger shows up out of nowhere. Loved how Hugh is treating Bree and how he’s trying to seduce her into letting go a little, to start living her life and be a fully happy and satisfied woman; not only a mother. I could feel the struggle she goes thru; should she just jump in and date Hugh or just hang to her previous plans. The Bradens are loyal, very family oriented and always there for each other not matter what. Once again I was happy to get a glimpse of what’s happening with each and every one of them. The support of amazing friends and a family is all it takes to make it.
I’ll tell you what – when I first met Hugh I didn’t really like him that much. But with each book we got to see more of him and I was so excited to finally start reading his story and see who will be the lucky woman to claim him.
This book didn’t disappoint. As a mother I could relate on so many levels with Bree with her wanting to protect her child and her heart at the same time. I think this is why I loved Hugh as much as I did because he was all in and wouldn’t let her fears keep them from reaching their HEA.
This family has become one of my favorites and I’m happy I was introduced to them.

With witty, loveable characters author Addison Cole will have you dreaming of your own Mr. Perfect!
With a twelve year plan that will take Brianna through her daughter’s eighteenth birthday she isn’t looking for a relationship. She has learned that men leave so trusting them doesn’t come easy. Besides, a six year old and two jobs leaves no time for a man anyway.
Hugh Braden is going to kill his crew chief. After the blind date from hell all Hugh wants is a few minutes to talk to the waitress he can’t get off his mind. So he keeps returning and is finally able to convince the shy Brianna to have coffee after work which leads to nice conversation and getting to know each other a little more. But with Hugh’s dangerous career that has him traveling nine months out of the year a permanent relationship would be difficult on any woman.
Brianna can’t deny the feelings she has for Hugh, and the fact that Hugh and her daughter hit it off so quickly only makes her decision more difficult. But she must consider the long term effects of a relationship with a race car driver who travels so much and has women throwing themselves at him in every city.
Will Brianna be able to put her past distrust of men aside and accept the love Hugh is so willingly ready to give?
