“Grips you by the throat from beginning to end.”—Cleveland Plain DealerALONE WITH HER NEW HUSBAND on a tiny Pacific atoll, a young woman, combing the beach, finds an odd aluminum container washed up out of the lagoon, and beside it on the sand something glitters: a gold tooth in a scorched human skull. The investigation that follows uncovers an extraordinarily complex and puzzling true-crime … extraordinarily complex and puzzling true-crime story. Only Vincent Bugliosi, who recounted his successful prosecution of mass murderer Charles Manson in the bestseller Helter Skelter, was able to draw together the hundreds of conflicting details of the mystery and reconstruct what really happened when four people found hell in a tropical paradise. And the Sea Will Tell reconstructs the events and subsequent trial of a riveting true murder mystery, and probes into the dark heart of a serpentine scenario of death.more
Very good book. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend it.
One of the most unusual crime books I’ve read.
Loved, loved this book. I was haunted by what might have really happened on the island. If I had been on this jury, I’m still not sure how I would have voted. Vincent Bugliosi does a stellar job at laying out his trial strategy.
One of my favourite books of all time! I have gifted it often to my family and friends.
No one wrote better true crime books than Vincent Bugliosa. The books are well researched and he introduces us to characters that remain in one’s memory.
Caught your attention at first then got long winded during trial but was worth reading. The Sea Will Tell was very informative.
An intriguing true story, but I could have done without so much legalese.
Awesome true story….a must read if you like Grisham-type books. Bugliosi is a great writer.
I liked the first half of the book but lost interest when the author droned on ad nauseum about his stratagies as the lawyer for the defense. Actually i gave up on the book at that time.
A great writer telling a true story.
Too much of the author tejjing how great he was.
A very good book until it gets to the telling of the trial. It becomes too detailed and very boring.
I do recommend this book, as the story is compelling and the author very good. (I like when I have to look up an word now and then!) That said, the last half of the book, while it may appeal to attorneys or to people directly connected to this crazy, awful story, involved copious amounts of legalize and detail, and honestly, was a bit …
Scary. Very well written, to the point of scaring the socks off me!
A fascinating true story about four complex people whose lives intersect with tragic consequences.
The book is very interesting until you get to the part where Vincent try’s to get us to believe the woman is innocent. Lost interest when he began the lawyer speak as a defense attorney.
I read it years ago and still remember it well because it is a true story and I know people who knew one of the couples. Very scary for people wanting to get away from it all.
Hey I’m still reading this book, it’s kind of slow at times because of all the legal stuff they talk about in the story but it’s been a great read.
Too much time on legalese that wasn’t necessary
I ‘d loaned this book to so many people over the years that it eventually disappeared from my collection. It finally found it’s way to Kindle, so I purchased it for the third time! This is one of my all time favorites in the true crime genre. Vincent Bugliosi, of the infamous Helter Skelter book and trial, tells the story of another unbelievable …
