What’s not to love about a Marie Force book? I always feel so good after reading her books. I love this Green Mountain series. I love the family atmosphere of the Abbott family. I love the town. I freaking love Fred, the town moose. His antics always leave a smile on my face. Hunter is the eldest Abbot child. He is a straight laced go by the book guy. He heads up the family business. He always has a plan. We have watched him fall for Megan in earlier books. Megan is a waitress whom had a crush on Hunter’s younger brother Will. Will never felt anything for Megan. With a bit of help from Elmer, Hunter’s grandfather, Megan and Hunter spend some time together. Hunter is nothing if not persistent. He keeps pushing Megan and not letting her use any excuses. She doesn’t think she can do happy ever after. He is just what she needs. Megan, in turn, gets Hunter to be more spontaneous. I have to be honest and say that Megan isn’t my favorite character in this series. But, as long as Hunter understands her I can live with her. She was a bit witchy in the previous books, but she does redeem herself. I think she just needed the love of a good man. This book delves a bit deeper in the Abbott family background. We get to know more about Lincoln and Elmer. We also see how the siblings interact with each other. I love how they tease each other. Hunter gets teased because of his being so thorough with all details of his life. There are also times throughout the book where the focus shifts to other Abbott children. I love that about the series. We never lose touch with those from previous books, and it causes us to be curious as to who will be next in the antics of Elmer and Lincoln. No cliffhanger. But, you know that there will be more of this series to come. It is best to read this series in order so you can understand what is and has been going on. I promise you won’t be disappointed, and you will find a new favorite author in Marie Force.
Absolutely love her books!!!
Every time you read a new Abbott family book you get a new book boyfriend. Just when you think you want to move to Ms. Force’s Gansett Island and live with the McCarthy’s, she makes you want to move to Butler VT and live with the Abbotts and their dogs. Love this whole series.
As I had predicted, Hunter Abbott has totally stolen my heart.
I’m falling more and more in love with this series with each book. And since the first book I’m intrigued about Hunter.
There was this silent strength about him that lured me to him. He was a problem solver, a fixer, he was stoic and always to the point. But there was this intensity, this passion underneath his austere surface that was boiling. And I wanted to see it scorching everything.
And I wasn’t disappointed.
Hunter is the leader, the safe harbor for everyone. He is the one people lean on because everyone knows Hunter is more that reliable. He is loyal, passionate and protective of the ones that matter to him. He is brilliant, quiet and patient, an observant, but he also knows how to voice his wishes and demands and he does it in this incredibly hot, sexy and all consuming way. Talk about intense!
But he is also sweet, romantic even, adorable, funny, respectful. There was just no way I couldn’t love him.
Megan was also adorable and a great surprise. Even though she gave Cameron a hard time, I knew there was more to her than her grumpy facade. She was sweet, funny, smart, sassy. She loved deeply even being so scared of doing so.
She had a heavy baggage that she carried around with her, and she did it for so long that she didn’t know how to let it go. Thank God for Hunter’s patience.
They were schorching hot together but also so, so sweet. He gave her the security and love she needed and she gave him the spontaneity and love he craved.
I wish she would be more of a fighter for him, he deserved as much. But I think I can’t understand where she was coming from, and it was definitely not an easy path.
And no matter who was stronger or more centered, both deserved the happiness and love they brought to each other.
As usual, Marie Force delivers an enjoyable adventure with characters you can cheer for and old friends you are glad to meet again. Can be a stand alone read but the series is terrific.
I absolutely love this loud and boisterous Abbott family! Marie Force does it again with her brilliantly crafted characters set in this quaint Vermont town.
Hunter has loved Megan from afar and now that he has a chance with her, he goes full throttle to show her how much he cares and that he is NEVER going to leave her side, despite Megan’s attempts to keep him at arm’s length.
I always love revisiting the Green Mountain series because I fell in love with this big family from the beginning! Not to mention the book titles are the titles of The Beatles’ songs and I’m a HUGE fan! I also love the references and the fact that the patriarch, Lincoln, is a huge Beatles fan as well.
What I enjoyed about the book was that we got to check in on previous couples Nolan and Hannah and Will and Cameron. We also get to see more of the other family members and a couple very funny scenes with Fred, the town moose. This series always feels like home to me and I love every chance to get back into the Abbotts’ storylines.
What I didn’t like about the story was written on Goodreads hidden under a spoiler link and not here.
Overall, I thought it was a great read and I can’t wait to find out whose book will be next! This is a hilarious and beautiful series that will make you laugh, tug at your heartstrings and will having you believing that there is such a thing as happily ever after.
