An expert on the hot, wild tales of mythology, Callie Prescott leads a meticulously tidy life. And that, thank you, is exactly how she wants it, despite her family’s pestering that she’s a control freak who needs to have fun.Jake Ryan fights bad guys, jumps out of airplanes, and escapes disasters…on film. But when a scandal engulfs his career, he takes cover in his hometown of Bliss Cove while … Bliss Cove while he puts out the fire. No one knows his true identity until a chance encounter with Callie ignites powerful flashbacks of their high-school years together.
Despite the threat of exposure, Jake wants some close-up action with the brilliant, beautiful professor. Callie’s structured life has no room for a sexy, muscular hero…until Jake shows her how thrilling it is to have fun and lose control (a little).
Jake and Callie surrender to a hot affair and the possibility of love. But with dangerous secrets, a public scandal, and a mother’s scheming plots, can Jake ever win the starring role in his leading lady’s heart?

Lovely Small-Town Romance Between Opposites
If you enjoy lovely little small-town romances set in an oceanside town where opposites fight their attraction, you will most likely enjoy this gentle romance. Our heroin at the beginning is a somewhat uptight and inflexible professor of classics going for tenure. The hero is from the same small town but is only now returning after fame in Hollywood as an action hero; he battles a current scandal. Essentially, he needs to lie low and thought his hometown might be the best place to do that. I like this slow-burn romance between these two. She is a very driven and ambitious woman who cares greatly for her mother and sister, even though those two other ladies give her a hard time about her lack of a social life and her overprotectiveness. Beneath it all, the heroine is vulnerable in ways that she doesn’t let the outside world see. Jake seems to understand her at a deeper level sometimes than she even seems to understand herself, and he gently brings her out of her shell. I like it in romances when a couple can help bring out the best parts of each other, and this happened to this story.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
This is my first book by this author even though I’ve seen others and been meaning to pick them up. I am glad I did. This captivated me from the beginning and I loved getting to know Callie and Jake. It’s a second chance romance with the added benefit of having opposites attract. They brought out the best in each other. I couldn’t put it down.
He is an action hero on film who takes chances with his life that is until a scandal sends him running back to his home town to wait out the fallout. Callie on the other hand is a college professor who likes order and lives for it. When he comes home he reconnects with Callie who was played a big role in his teenage years. They may be opposites but their passion attracts and the sparks fly as their relationship heats up but can it withstand the scandal and all the drama within Jake’s life? This story grabs your attention from the first page with its descriptive storyline and details not to mention characters that you can identify with. I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this story for an honest review.
Nina Lindsey, ‘And I Love Her’,
Bliss Cove #2.
As a Hidden Gems ARC reader I received a free copy and promised an honest review. Here it is.
Rating: 4,5 stars (of 5).
In general: Romance between tidy professor and famous actor.
Main characters:
– Callie Prescott (32).
She’s an mythologie expert and a control freak leading a very tidy life. A brilliant and beautiful temporary professor at the small town university working to get a full professor job so she can stay with her family in Bliss Cove.
– Jake Ryan (32).
He’s a successful actor in action movies. A scandal engulfed his career and – waiting for the the bad publicity to diminish – he took for a few weeks cover in his small seaside home town, Bliss Cove, where no one knew his true identity.
However Callie’s mom recognizes him when he visits her bakery. But she’ll keep his identity a secret if he promises to date Callie, the daughter who works too long and never enjoys her free time. Callie and Jake knew each other in high school. And – somewhat resisting – Callie accepts his invitation to see a movie with him in the old cinema in town.
The author, Nina Lindsey, then describes (in a bit predictable plot) how the too much caring professor and the more intuitive living actor start to like each other. With insight and feeling she shows the reader that both main characters have to discover what they really want in live before they find personal happiness and have successful careers. The book is well written with a lot of nice characters, credible dialogues and interesting small town scenes. I’m looking forward to the next books of this Bliss Cove series.

This is the second book I’ve lapped up in the Bliss Cove series and although the reading order is mentioned in the blurbs, I’m not reading in sequence since they can are all be enjoyed as standalones. Getting to know how the Prescott family ticks is a joy. The sisters’ quirky ways, the men who might or might not steal their hearts and their adorable mum who I fell head over heels for simply deserves all the kudos. As my wish is for you to experience the Bliss Cove feel, I’m going to try and keep this review short. Let’s see if this is possible, lol!
Callie is so damn nerdish that at times she frustrated the pants off me. Her determination to do the right thing comes over strongly; she has no idea how to let her hair down, her responsibilities taking first place. But could there be someone who’d be able to make her see it was time to let go of her controlling ways, think about herself more and simply live life? Lindsey effortlessly hit Callie’s persona on the nail. She’s the gal I’d love to meet, bend her ear regarding her knowhow in Greek mythology, its comic effects well-known. Comparing today and yesterday she’d have to brush up on, the pop-culture spin literally bowling me over. And was I cheering the person who encouraged her to see how it could work in a heartfelt project or the classroom? Absolutely!
For the love of goodness, unselfishness, looks and abs in all the right gorgeousness of places, in strides the hero, Jack Ryan! And I was thunderstruck. Again, Lindsey’s character development skills cracked every one of his minute traits. If I’d found fault in Callie’s stance, Jack is perfection. The patience game he plays was beyond my expectations. Nonetheless, how with so many professional obstacles would this new relationship even begin to work?
So there you have it, folks! An ace of a movie star incognito for reasons to be divulged and a professor unlikely to change her lifestyle is what their story is about. Nonstop banter, abounding steaminess, relatable characters and the emotions opposites attract make this well-written book a very one-clickable one. Bravo, Lindsey!
This author just simply knows how to describe, write, tell, express, and share that special, unique “insta-attraction” that many of us may have experienced but could never verbalize to someone else!! The emotions that Classics Professor Callista (Callie) Prescott and major motion picture heart-throb Jake Ryan feel for each other upon meeting one another are very clearly illustrated in this awesomely emotional and romantic book by Ms Lindsay. Hollywood Hearthrob Jake Ryan flees the media blitz bomb of Hollywood by returning to his hometown, Bliss Cove. Hoping to remain incognito in his quiet, quaint hometown, Jake runs into the introverted, introspective Professor Callie Prescott and their emotions are suddenly in hyper-drive, said emotions quite efficiently described to the reader so that we are enjoying that instant thrill the couple are feeling. It doesn’t take long for Callie to realize she has easily come out of her safe, monochromatic world for Jake, and for Jake to see that the craziness of Hollywood and the lifestyle is far-removed and desired while experiencing the serenity of Bliss Cove and his new love. But with so much “life” between them, how could they make a real relationship without giving up who and what they are? Ms Lindsay, in this second installment of the Bliss Cove series, brings us exactly what we want in a good romance novel, and even more. If unselfish love, devotion, heat and passion, and true heart-felt emotion are what you want to read, I highly recommend you one-click this book, and continue to do so with this fabulous series!!! You won’t be able to help but fall for the hunky but so dreamy Jake Ryan and his forever love, Callie Prescott. I received a very generous ARC of this book but would review it exactly the same nevertheless!!!
Fans of romantic comedies like “Notting Hill” and “The Proposal,” small-town Hallmark movies, and the charm of Gilmore Girls, will love this heartwarming, second chance at love romance.

And I Love Her
Bliss Cove #2
By: Nina Lindsey
*REVIEW* .75
Named after one of my favorite
Beatles’s songs, And I Love Her, is a sweet opposites attract second chance romance. I’m new to the author and the series, but this reads fine as a standalone. Callie is a straight laced, solid routine, always in control type of woman. She is set in stone. Jake is an action movie star in a lay low and take a break state of mind because of a scandal around his career. He’s not a control freak. Callie and Jake meet when he returns to Bliss Cove, his hometown. Their relationship develops into something more. Callie and Jake have a history, as it turns out, and some issues to address. They bring out the best in each other. Callie learns to let go. Jake learns that not all of Callie’s habits are bad. Both begin to understand that life maybe gives second chances and redemption and love is found in unexpected ways. The story is entertaining, charming and engaging. It’s well written and did keep my interest. My only complaint is the predictability of the story. I knew where it was going. In many cases, however, this is exactly what the reader wants, and it’s a person preference. Overall, I was invested in Callie and Jake and wanted good things for them. I have no doubt this book will be loved by so many!
This is the second book in the series and I enjoyed it as much as the first. I loved Callie and Jake. It was so beautiful watching Callie find there is more to life then schedules and routine. Jake is so good for her and in turn she’s good for him. Jake does a little growing this one as well and realizes what truly matters in this world. This book was a joy to read. Plus Callie’s sister Aria pops up every now then with her cat cafe. I always love that. It’s a beautiful book and story. I would recommend this one. You will easily get lost in the book.
Oh how I love Bliss Cove! I really wish I could visit. I adore Nina and her brilliant words. I loved this couple, Callie and Jake. Opposites do attract for sure! Callie is a bit set in her ways. Jake is a movie star. They have some drama, but not a lot. They do have sparks and heat! I can’t wait for book 3.
“And I Love Her” was pure romance and absolutely lovely to read.
Jake a swoon-worthy, reluctant Hollywood star going home. and Callie, a seemingly rigid academic with no time for love, meet and are perfect together. I loved all of the supporting characters, I know the next book in the series will probably feature the third sister, Rory, but I kind of want – need – a book telling Destiny’s story.
Overall, another perfect love story
I’m loving these Prescott sisters and with And I Love Her, Nina Lindsey ups her game and gives us one helluva great love story. This time around it’s oldest sister Callie’s turn as she finds herself face to face with a memory from high school, all grown up in the form of one Jake Ryan, Hollywood’s popular action hero. They shouldn’t have chemistry since the somewhat staid Callie could never fit in Jake’s world or be on his wildly muscular arms. But once again the magic that is Bliss Cove removes all pre-conceived notions and the electricity between them cannot be denied.
I loved the slow burn, the amazing build-up as Callie and Jake fall head over heels for the other, all the while trying to navigate his popularity and the reasons for being in Bliss Cove after so much time away. Their worlds couldn’t be more opposite but somehow the smoldering looks, the heat between them drives them further into each other’s arms as they find a comfortable rhythm with family and friends looking on. What I loved was that Jake was so in tune with what a possible relationship would look like with the smart as heck Professor and protected Callie as much as he could. Bliss Cove was the best place possible for him as he tries to stay out of the spotlight as the charming residents give him a knowing smile but don’t overwhelm him with their knowledge of his status. That really made this book even more adorable to me.
There is plenty of doubt on both their parts but seeing Callie step out of her comfort zone (wearing vibrant colors instead of her usual muted tones!! yay!) and Jake getting the girl of his dreams when he wasn’t even looking was worth all the stops and starts. This is small-town romance with a big dose of heart and soul and enough steam to make it perfect.
And I Love Her hit all the right notes for me and I happily give it a huge 5 stars!
This was a really good book. I loved the characters growing. Who knew a deal and old school friends could bring love.
I loved Jake and Callie together, they maybe different in every way. But it didn’t stop them.
I can’t wait to see what comes next.
