The Ancients, a race of creatures between gods and monsters, are trapped in Canderfey. Fighting for their home, the University, and the remaining residents of the town, Joanna and her coven are in daily peril. When one of the Ancients escapes the boundary, the coven is separated, Isaac traveling in search of a solution to the turmoil of the summer. As days wear on, can Joanna and her coven keep … coven keep their warrior spirit, or have they been fighting too hard and too long? Perhaps the Ancients—older, more powerful, and impossible to kill—are an obstacle too enormous to overcome.
Will Canderfey be saved and the coven free to live in peace? Or will the cages, keeping Ancients in and magic out, crumble and set chaos loose upon the world?
Ancients is the stunning and emotional finale of The Librarian’s Coven series!

Things you need to do before reading this:
1 – read the previous books in the series, even if you read them when they were released, the world is better after a binge read
2 – keep tissues at hand
3 – make sure you have enough time to finish the book, no starting on a weekday unless it’s your day off, sleep is overrated.
Joanna’s adventures come to a close as they find a way to defeat the Ancients that were unleashed by a naïve University President. With her usual band of allies, Bryce’s coven and her own, and new allies in the Scrivens after restoring their reputations and proving their innocence.
Inside a magic dome where only Scrivens magic work, our heroes need to find a way to contain the ancients before the cage unravels.
We learn that the Ancients imprisioment is more complex than one thinks and all families have issues, no matter if their humans or magical beings.
This book is the perfect ending, with enough threads left to weave a new story, but wrapping up the first year of The Librarian’s Coven existence in a perfect way.
What an amazing, heart warming, endearing book to read. I’m so glad it ended the way it did but at the same time sad to see them go. This coven has had me from the get go. So many trials, heartbreaks and love. We can always wish for more for them but will be happy how it ended. I’ve enjoyed reading how this coven has progressed, every journey with them has lead to this epic conclusion!
I cannot believe this is the end if the series, but this is one incredible ending to one fantastic and magical series. Johanna and her coven finally get their happily ever after but it is quite an adventure getting their. The storytelling is absolutely incredible and beautiful. I loved reading about the Coven’s connections between each unique person and I loved that their was still more to learn about each character. It is was easy to get lost in this story.
I received an advanced copy and am voluntarily leaving an unbiased, honest review.
What a great adventure! This book completes the Librarian coven’s journey and deliver everything we expected and more. After all, they had a bumpy road but full of love and discovery. This series pulled my attention from the start, because it was so different, the MCs, the world, the magic, all so new and especial. I loved all the MCs and the side characters as well, Bryce in special. Also, the fact the books changed POVs with each chapter made so that we got to know Joanna, but also Aiden, Callum and Isaac better. They shared their lives with us and it was amazing.
Ancients
It all started with a library and a love of books. This was the hook that grabbed me and brought me along one of my favorite literary journeys . My love of books and reading provided an instant connection to my beloved Joanna, one of my favorite MC’s (and I am pretty sure my BFF, don’t judge, our relationship is real lol!).
I am not going to give spoilers, I am not going to try to encapsulate the beauty of this story into my own words. Kathryn Moon is THE Goddess of storytelling, this is her super power.
What I want to offer are a few reasons why you will fall in love with this series and want to come back, as if visiting family, time and time again.
• I am drawn to characters that have viable, believable connections. You know that this has been established flawlessly when you realize that you have slipped into the “fictional” relationships developed between the characters in the pages as if you are a part of their world, finding it hard to leave when you have to go back to real life. This story brings together all the different characters (along with all their different relationships) we have grown to love over the arc of the series and each play an important role in the finale of the series, staying true to who they were when we met them. That for me is HUGE! I hate when characters change to fit into a storyline, who I met is who I want and I am not disappointed here. Bravo.
• You cannot help but get caught up into the brilliant worlds that Kathryn builds, each is a place so solid in description and feeling, you can’t help but want to go and visit physically. I am pretty sure I could do this if I had some chalk.
• The introduction of the Ancients in Scrivens was such a great tease into the characters we get to know in this story. The addition to the already amazing “cast” we meet in the previous books this book gives adds exciting elements that keep you yelling in your head, “What is happening?!?” in the best way possible. There is no chance to get bored as you get to know the Ancients and are drawn into their relationship with the rest of our (yes our) coven, our covens friends, and their role in the story.
• I want my OWN coven.
In the end (I am not crying, you are crying!), this final book wraps up the story, leaving me with a sense of fulfillment and happiness. I can now comfortably visit my Librarian’s Coven family and know that they are all where they should be. I am sad that this journey is over…for now. (That is my sneaky attempt to encourage our previously mentioned Goddess of storytelling to maybe share the stories of some of the others outside of our main coven!)
