But tragedy strikes, and the future begins to look … to look bleaker than ever.

Good Christian fiction.
LAURAINE Smelling is a wonderful Christian Author, One of my favorite authors ! This series, The Red river & Red River of the North ARE excellent and you can’t stand to put the books down, and can’t wait to read the next one. THE CHARACTERS get close in your heart LIKE they are family!!!
I love anything written by Lauraine Snelling. This is the first of a long series of books and once you get started, you will want to read until you complete the entire series. I had not ever read this first book, but knowing what is coming did not detract from its appeal.
