An Unlikely Match is a terrific blend of fantasy and historical romance. Because one of the ill-fated lovers is literally a ghost, their separation as love grew made my heart ache for them. But, love conquers all!
I can’t say enough good things about this book – especially at this time of year! If you’re looking for something sweet and just a little spooky, this is the paranormal Regency romance for you! There’s a haunted estate, a beautiful ghost, a curse, and a lovely happily ever after that you don’t see coming! I love this one.
Sarah Eden is one of my very favorite authors. I’ve read nearly every book she’s written and I plan to make the “nearly” part of that statement a “completely have” this upcoming year. I love her books! But I must admit I was surprised at this one when I started it. I didn’t read any synopsis on the book before starting it so I had no idea going in that it has a paranormal element—the heroine of the story is a ghost!
It’s a fun read. A good spooky story for Halloween, without being too scary if you’re not into that kind of thing (which I’m not, so this is perfect for me). It’s a little weird, but then again, paranormal isn’t my typical genre so maybe it’s perfectly normal for that element.
AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: Read by: unknown The reader does a pretty good job with the various accents and, as far as I’m aware, saying the words correctly. Fair reader.
I loved following this mystery of a love story. It was a very well written novel and put a new spin on your typical romance. Sarah M. Eden kept it pure and wholesome in this Proper Romance. I was quickly hoping that somehow, someway Gwen and Nickolas would find a future where they could be together. Personally I like to guess what the outcome will be and was pretty quick to have a good theory on the plot with this one. It had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.
I would, and have, recommended this book and others of Sarah M. Eden’s to family, friends and strangers on all walks of life. You will fall in love with Nickolas and Gwen as you read their story.
There is nothing impossible when it comes to love and you will just have to read this book to find out what possible ending these amazing characters have together!

This wasn’t quite what I was expecting, but I enjoyed it. I went in thinking as it was a historical romance with a ghost, it would be more like a gothic tale, but really it felt like a modern urban fantasy that happened to be set in Regency England. It’s a funky little story and I enjoyed it. It might not be something everyone would enjoy, but I loved it.
Sarah Eden is a good author if you’re looking for a clean read. Her books are good but not great or awesome. This story is along a paranormal theme. She had it going in the beginning but the story feel flat half way through the book. The potential father in law drove me nuts in this book. I would have thrown him in the horrid tower if he was sooo fascinated with ghosts. My daughters read this book and said, it’s OK.
