An Unforgettable Christmas by Ginny Baird is a perfect, sweet, romantic, fuzzy Christmas story about two different people finding themselves again, and finding each other.
I have to say upfront that I love Hallmark Christmas movies, so I am so excited to read their novel counterparts!
Angelita (Angie) Lopez is the accountant at Sam Singleton’s jewelry store.
Both have had painful moments in their life that have left them both altered and guarded. Angie continues to be the optimist in trying to succeed and prosper in her new job, while also being a good Mom and provide for her Son Pepe, her Mom, and her “Lita” (grandmother). Sam ends up finding out that work shouldn’t be the only thing in life through an accident that causes a head injury that affects his memory.
Is this the fresh start Sam was needing?
Will the pair find in each other what they themselves have been missing all along?
This is just perfect for a Hallmark Christmas movie, and while the reader can figure out how this will end, that doesn’t mean that we won’t enjoy the ride.
5/5 stars
I was so excited to have the pleasure of reading Ginny Baird’s An Unforgettable Christmas. It is so very good. Angie and Sam had wonderful chemistry long before they realized it. This is a perfect story to read to get a reader into the Christmas Spirit. It is so very good and heartwarming.
I am giving An Unforgettable Christmas a well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy a well written clean romance, with the magic of Christmas.
I received this book from the author, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
I loved this delightful and charming holiday romance with engaging characters and a beautifully written story that drew me in immediately and kept me right in the middle of all that was happening so when I got to the last page I just wasn’t ready for this perfect Christmas romance to end. I felt an instant connection to young widow Angie Lopez who lives with her son, mom and grandmother and loved her undeniable chemistry with her handsome but stuffy boss, Sam Singleton.
This is the perfect read for anyone who enjoys an uplifting contemporary romance that will put you in the Christmas spirit, warm your heart and leave a smile on your face. Ms. Baird never disappoints whatsoever and I look forward to reading more from this gifted author.
I received an advance reader copy “An Unforgettable Christmas” and am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased review.
An Unforgettable Christmas by Ginny Baird is a sweet, clean and charming story that will fill your heart with Christmas spirit.
Angie Lopez is a young widow raising her precocious six-year-old son, Pepe; and they share an apartment with her mother, Elena, and Grandma Lita. Angie’s husband and her father were killed in a car accident, so the women support each other.
Angie is an accountant for Sam Singleton at his eponymous jewelry store. Sam is very self-absorbed and a bit of a grouch and, when he falls on the ice and gets amnesia, has no one to care for him. Angie offers to let Sam stay with her family while he recuperates.
Sam may have forgotten his insular present but remembers his happy childhood and the joy of the holiday. He rebuilds his relationship with his father, David, and friend, Ken, and opens his heart to love, life and Angie.
Baird has populated the story with wonderful secondary characters. You will love Elena and her beau, Ernesto, Grandma Lita, George and Pam, and, of course Pepe!
I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.

Heartwarming, sweet, charming, with a dash of romance–this story is just what I expect and love about Hallmark’s Christmas offerings! Ginny Baird gives us great characters (featuring a fun and multi-generational Latino family) and builds them a small-town world where everyday life is the good stuff. I loved her use of the amnesia plot device to bring Sam to examine his life choices and consider the life he wants in the future. Add this to your Christmas reading list! I hope it is made into a Hallmark Christmas movie so it can be enjoyed by a wider audience.
I voluntarily requested and read an advanced review copy provided by the publisher via Netgalley and I offer my honest opinion is response.
“An Unforgettable Christmas”, from author Ginny Baird, is a touching holiday romance filled with seasonal spirit that will gladden readers’ hearts. Angie Lopez, widowed at a young age, is a hard-working mother of a young son, Pepe. Due to the twists and turns in her life, Angie, her son, her mother, and her grandmother all live together in an apartment in the small resort town of Hopedale, Virginia–which is famous for the Hopedale Valley Springs Ski Resort. Angie works as an accountant and salesperson at Singleton’s Jewelers–a first-class store which sells fine jewelry and gifts. Angie’s boss, Sam Singleton, is a perfectionist–a man driven to excel in success. While Sam is a fair employer, and certainly not a total “Scrooge”, he remains remote in his relationships with others–even with his father, David. Angie and her own family are very close, and they support each other and make things work for the best. When Sam suffers a memory loss due to a bad fall, Angie feels that she must take him in to her own home while he recovers. Sam has no close friends, and his father is aging and suffering from his own health issues. Sam is embraced by the Lopez family: Angie’s hero-worshiping young son Pepe, her mother Elena–a caring and dedicated labor and delivery nurse, and Lita, her free-spirited, artistic grandmother. It’s quite a different holiday for them all, and as bits and pieces of Sam’s memory start to come back, the reasons for his quest for success and status also become clear. Sam’s mother died when he was just a boy, and his grieving father thought it best to send Sam to a private school, never imagining the isolation Sam would feel and how it would shape his outlook on life. The car accident which killed Angie’s husband also killed her father, so she and her mother were both widowed at the same time. Sam and Angie have both known great loss, and they have each moved forward with their lives in different ways. As Sam interacts with Angie’s family, she sees the warmth and kindness beneath his polished exterior. He sees the true beauty of the lovely woman who is not only an excellent employee, but a friend whose company he enjoys, and his heart begins to thaw. Angie is equally attracted to Sam, but there are issues they both must resolve. When Sam does fully regain his memory, will they once again be just employer and employee–or is there hope for a happy future–one that sparkles diamond-bright? On a personal note, I loved this story even more for its setting: The beautiful mountains of Virginia, where I live less than an hour away from an historic, world-class resort and natural hot springs.

Author Ginny Baird has written the most beautiful Christmas story that will touch even the hardest of hearts! Angie Lopez is a young widow with a six year old son to raise. She works as an accountant at Singleton’s Jewelers, the small town of Hopedale’s jewelry store owned and operated by Sam Singleton, a young and handsome bachelor. Angie has always noticed how handsome Sam is but she has never thought about anything further. After a major sales day, Angie is carefully walking, due to icy and snow covered sidewalks, when Sam notices she left her purse. Running out to catch her, Sam suddenly slips on the ice and hits his head. After being taken to the hospital, Sam cannot remember anything, not even his name. With no one else around to take care of Sam, Angie takes him home to stay with her, Pepe, her son, Elena, her mother and her grandmother, Lita. The time spent with this loving and caring family awakens something in Sam that he has been missing. Under the advice of his doctor, Sam spends time with his father and goes to laces that he used to visit. As time progresses, Sam realizes that the new “Sam” is what he wants to be like from now on. Apparently the old version was uptight and not a fun loving guy. Sam isn’t the only one that likes how he is now. Angie has found herself falling in love with him and hoping he keeps his heart open and continues to want to be a fun loving guy that doesn’t take life so serious. As Christmas approaches, will Sam get his memory back and give up all of the true feelings that he has found or will the new Sam continue to want what everyone else has, a big happy family? Will Angie get the Christmas she is hoping for? Being the first book I have read from Author Ginny Baird, I was absolutely hooked from the beginning. I look forward to reading more of this authors work!
This is a story about the Magic of Christmas
at work.
Angie Lopez lost both her husband and father
In an accident years ago. Angie, Pepe(her son)!
her mother and grandmother all live in an
apartment together. Angie works at Singleton’s
Jewelry store. Her boss is Sam Singleton. He is
a good looking but aloof boss.
Then he slips on the ice, hits his head, develops
temporary memory lost. The doctor tell Angie
that Sam needs someone to care for him. Sam’s
Dad is to old an unable to care for Tim. Having
no one else, Angie takes Sam under her wing by
taking him to her family’s apartment.
No old memories only means new memories will
be made BUT what happens to the new when
the old return??
There was definitely chemistry between Angie
and Sam. Both were well fleshed, realistic and
relatable main characters. The supporting
characters were well written.
Talented writing in a very well plotted adventure.
Tremendous job in making the reader a part
of Angie & Sam’s story.
I volunteered to read Unforgettable Christmas.
Thanks to the author for the opportunity. My
opinion is voluntary and my own.
A Highly Recommended heartwarming read
sharing the Magic of the Christmas season!!!
An Unforgettable Christmas is a new offering by Ginny Baird. Set in the small Virginia town of Hopedale nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this is a story of loosing oneself in order to find your true self. Sam Singleton has created a very successful business in the heart of the booming small town thanks to hard work, loyal customers, and the tourism brought in by the area ski resorts. Sam was driven. He was driven to the point where his relationship with his dad was tenuous and he had lost all contact with his few friends. In fact, his only socialization was with his customers and his employees.
Angie Lopez works as the accountant and in sales for Singleton’s Jewelry. A young widow with a 6 year old son, Angie lives with her mother and grandmother in an apartment outside of town. They are recovering from the loss of Angie’s husband and father and moving forward as they save to get a house of their own.
After a long Cyber Monday sale day, including unusual vibes from her boss, Angie takes off hurriedly, leaving her purse behind. Sam notices it lying on her desk and hurries to catch Angie before she leaves the parking lot. In doing so, Sam hits black ice, slipping and striking his head on the pavement and losing consciousness. Angie immediately calls 911 and then follows him to the hospital as she doesn’t know who else to call for him. When Sam comes to later that evening, he cannot remember anything—who he is, where he is, nothing! Otherwise he is physically fine, but cannot be discharged without someone to care for him. Angie seems to be elected as the one to assist him.
Angie and her family welcome Sam into their busy, cramped apartment home. With Sam’s memories now confined to about 8 and younger, he finds the kindness of Angie and her family fills a void in his soul. As the days go by, there is a connection between Sam and her family that is undeniable, and his connection with Angie is becoming something even stronger.
This is a lovely holiday story that shows miracles truly happen when one opens themselves to all the possibilities. I truly enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

Sweet story to enjoy anytime of year…This is a wonderful sweet Christmas story that you can enjoy any time of year. Angela, a widowed mother, has been working hard as an accountant at Sam’s jewelry store for the last three months. Sam’s whole life is wrapped around his business. When Sam falls and can’t remember anything, Angela cares for him in her family’s apartment. As concerns about whether Sam will get all his memories back, Sam and Angela grow closer together. I received a free copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I love this book. I found Angela and Sam very believable characters. Pepe, Elena, and Lita add that extra sparkle to the book. This is a very enjoyable read and I look forward to the movie.
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This one about Sam and how he has his eyes opened up after spending time with Angie and her family after a fall. A great Christmas miracle story and easy to follow along. You cannot go wrong with this story.
This enjoyable Christmas story sparkles all the way through the book. I loved the characters of Angie, Pepe, and Lita. But Sam’s character is the heart of this story. His struggle to regain his memory, but also move from bitterness to happiness, makes for a heart-touching story. This is a perfect book to read during the Christmas season as it’s full of the joy of Christmas and a perfect length to read during a busy holiday season. This book is clean and sweet. There are several “interrupted kiss” scenes that will make you smile and hope that this one becomes a Hallmark movie very soon.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Angie Lopez is a widowed, single mom living with her widowed mother and grandmother. She works at the local jewelry store as their accountant. Unfortunately, even though her boss is handsome and single, he never sees her as anything other than his employee.
Sam Singleton is a workaholic. His focus is on work and only work. However, when he slips and suffers a head injury leading to amnesia, he has nowhere to go since he has no friends and is estranged from his father. Therefore, Angie is the only one willing and able to help care for him until he regains his memory.
While Sam struggles to regain his lost years of memories, he begins to realize the empty and isolated life he led and tries to rebuild the various damaged relationships while he still has a chance. He also sees Angie in a whole new light and the welcome her family extends to him. Can he reconcile this new Sam with the old Sam? What will happen when he regains his memories? Will it ruin the progress he’s made with rebuilding damaged relationships? What about his developing relationship with Angie?
Angie is dealing with a multi generation family that has suffered the loss of husbands and fathers. Can she open her heart again? And for Sam, can he trust her to accept him for who he really is?
What follows is at times a super sweet, lighthearted story of people making the best of a difficult situation, but as the story nears the end, there’s a lot more emotion and feelings expressed between the various characters. Angie’s family has a secondary story of their own which adds to the overall depth of the book. I liked the second half of the story the best and the ending is satisfying.
Romance – PG / kissing
Language – clean
Violence – serious fall that leads to amnesia
My rating – 5 stars
Angie wants to make a good future for her family. Her son, her mother and grandmother deserve a home of their own. Hopefully they can make this dream come true. Ever since Angie lost her husband and father in a tragic accident, she’s never stopped working. I wanted her to find love and happiness again. Her work with Sam Singleton at his jewelry store helps her cover expenses. She enjoys the work and finds her employer attractive, but aloof. They are opposites in personality. He’s driven to be successful. He doesn’t need people. That is until a fall causes him to lose his memory. Now he needs help. Who can he turn to? Angie is always willing to help so she takes him home. I loved how Angie and her family welcome him. What happens next is so heart warming. Sam becomes a changed man. He and Pepe grow close. It was sweet how they played together. Angie and Sam have great chemistry. They make a perfect couple. I sighed as they grew close. I felt the magic of the holiday. The snow added sparkle. It was the perfect setting for this sweet romance. The characters are so easy to relate to. I found their dialogue emotional and touching. I wanted a HEA but I wasn’t sure what would happen when Sam got his memory back. He was so closed off. Ginny Baird wrote a holiday story that was magical. When I finished reading An Unforgettable Christmas I felt happy. This is a perfect romance for Christmas.
