1:Hate IT! Didn’t finish; usually only given if/when some contents truly objectionable (i.e. main characters does something awful & gets away w/it!)
2:Don’t like IT! Rating means I felt the writing was poor, editing was bad, I don’t care for characters, or book had some major flaw.
3: I like IT, BUT! There are minor issues… Rating means there’s editing issues, needs character development, is too unrealistic, or has issues– I do not consider it an overall bad rating.
4:I like IT a lot. Great, Solid Story w/ few if any inconsistencies or errors. This is a HIGH Rating, & I rarely give OUT a Higher Rating.
5: I LOVE IT! It’s Spectacular, & I’ll read IT Over & Over Again. Few books Receive this rating from me. HowEver, those that DO become Classics.
A case of Opposites attract. Brandon is a college basketball star when a few of his teammates are supposed to be studying in the library there is a guy within the five that is a real prick. And throws out to the least likely guy there that he would give him his Nike LeBron shoes if he asks that chick out and he points. When they all turn Brandon realizes it’s his sister’s best friend who had just transferred in.
Although, Brandon hasn’t dated anyone since his freshman year due his ex. He volunteered to be the one to snag a date. He wasn’t going to allow these jokers around his sister so he couldn’t let it happen to Dancy either. Just talking to her blows him away. Even though most people would never take the time to notice Darcy is beautiful. You see most of the time she hide sparkling blue eyes behind huge glasses. She also hides her hair in a messy bun and her body in large overalls. But He think it’s cute.
You will enjoy the sweet love story that plays to your heart. The characters are the right blend. I love how Jeffery helps save the day. A wonderful short. July-Aug. book giveaway.
Getting a 2nd chance is just what Brandon needs to clear the air with Daney. These 2 are so cute together, their support for each other turns their friendship onto new roads.
This was sensationally heartwarming short story from Savannah Adams. Dancy is an art student with a jaded view on love due to her parent’s divorce. Brandon is a star collegiate basketball player who takes a bet from teammates to go on one date with Dancy. An Off-the Court Bet is a captivating short story about second chances and true love with heartache mixed in. I loved this new story and the wonderful characters.

Super short
With some stereotypical stereotypes of college jocks and nerds.
Thankfully, Brandon isn’t one of them but he still takes the bet to get Dancy’s number, a friend of his sister’s.

Several basketball team members came to the library to study, but Mac found it too distracting since there were cute females sitting at the tables. Right away, his teammates bet that one of them wouldn’t give him the time of day! So he walked over and got her phone number! Brandon Wilson hated Mac’s calling the women “babes”, thinking they were toys for their amusement. When Mac started to tease Ted about dating a “homely” girl with glasses – whom Brandon recognized from high school – he jumped up instead and said he would take the bet. She was a friend of his sister and he didn’t want to see her get hurt by this.
Dancy was trying to shelve a book, part of her part-time job at the library, but couldn’t reach the top shelf – which was a perfect opening for the basketball player to step in and offer help. She recognized him, but she was still surprised when Susie’s brother asked her out for coffee after the game! She hadn’t been on a date since high school! So she accepted and agreed to meet at 9:15. By 9:35, she figured he wasn’t coming and left. Rounding the corner, a tall guy ran into her – the game had gone into overtime and he apologized for being late.
They continued to see each other because they truly enjoyed being with each other, able to relax and easy to talk to. She went to one of his games without telling him, just to watch his skillful moves on the court. He was the hero that night, winning the game. And he went to her exhibit to see her artwork. He admired her talent and creativity. As they walked back to her dorm, it started to rain and he grabbed her hand to run the rest of the way. He put his arms around her in the lobby, and didn’t see Mac and his girlfriend. Mac laughed out loud and told him he only had to date that mouse once to win the sneakers! The news crushed Dancy who had already been amazed that a handsome hero like Brandon would choose to be with her. Now she knew, and she would never believe another word out of his mouth. What will happen to their relationship now? Can Brandon get her to listen to the truth? Or will they let something very special fall apart without trying to understand what happened?
This was a beautiful, emotional story line about two unlikely people who are drawn together, happy in their relationship, and then cruelly torn apart by a jerk’s insensitive comment. The reader can see the raw pain felt by each of them which can only be removed if they can listen to each other. Grab your copy and find out if they can save their still-new relationship. This well-written book was so worth reading!
This was a sweet, short story. I liked that it was not driven by sexual attraction but by love. The characters were relatable and the story line was good.

Loved this super quick read. The characters caught my attention immediately and left me wanting more. Fantastic quick read.
This was absolutely adorable. I don’t typically rate short stories higher than four stars because it’s hard to really get into something so short. This sucked me in and wouldn’t let go though! I absolutely LOVED Brandon and Dancy. They were great characters with a sweet love story and a fantastic epilogue. I look forward to reading more from this author!
