In the 12th novel in the New York Times bestselling Longmire series, the basis for the hit Netflix orginal series Longmire, Walt, Henry, and Vic discover much more than they bargained for when they are called in to investigate a hit-and-run accident involving a young motorcyclist near Devils Tower
In the midst of the largest motorcycle rally in the world, a young biker is run off the road and … road and ends up in critical condition. When Sheriff Walt Longmire and his good friend Henry Standing Bear are called to Hulett, Wyoming—the nearest town to America’s first national monument, Devils Tower—to investigate, things start getting complicated. As competing biker gangs; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms; a military-grade vehicle donated to the tiny local police force by a
wealthy entrepreneur; and Lola, the real-life femme fatale and namesake for Henry’s ‘59 Thunderbird (and, by extension, Walt’s granddaughter) come into play, it rapidly becomes clear that there is more to get to the bottom of at this year’s Sturgis Motorcycle Rally than a bike accident. After all, in the words of Arthur Conan Doyle, whose Adventures of Sherlock Holmes the Bear won’t stop quoting, “There is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact.”

I’m a fan of the Longmire TV show. This book seems to pick up where the show left off. A fun, easy read.
I’m a big Longmire fan. Yes the Netflix helped this feeling along but I love the more intense action of the novels by Johnson. Thumbs up.
LOVE THIS CHARACTER……. GREAT READ AS I AM SOMEWHAT FAMILIAR WITH THE SETTING OF THIS READ. ACCURATE STORY TELLING BY THE AUTHOR AND SIMPLY A GOOD GOOD STORY, SOME TIMES TENSE, SOME TIMES FUNNY,ALWAYS WITTY.
Like all longmire books
Can’t miss with a Craig Johnson western!!
I am an unabashed Longmire fan. I enjoy the interaction between the characters. The backdrops of the western country are beautifully done. Add this to storyline and you have a great read.
Good if you like Longmire.
I like all of the books in this series: the characters are well developed, the protagonist is realistic and flawed, the surrounding characters all have a point of view. The thing that I like most, however, is the atmosphere and descriptions of living in the remote area in which the novels take place. I, too, live in the cold, cold north and can relate to the daily struggle of dealing with the harsh weather…and the pleasures therein too.
i love Longmire stories, humor and licksble characters with mysteries that capture the imagination
Way better then the tv series
Longmire is the best
Just a fantastic series in book form.
This was a good Longmire book, but not his best.
I am a Longmire fan but this book was disappointing in plot and characters. Get them back in Wyoming!
Always love Longmire and Henry Standing Bear…
I’ve loved all the Walt Longmire books. This one had several ‘belly laugh’ comments.
A good story, although I thought the villain easy to figure out.
I love this series; read every book in the series. Great characters and plots. These are not deep, heavily convoluted stories, but great pieces of entertainment
Entertaining if you are a Longmaire fan
Craig Johnstone created a great series if books when he writes about Walt Longmire. And then the DVD series makes reading the books even more pleasurable. TT
I love the Longmire series.
