In the 12th novel in the New York Times bestselling Longmire series, the basis for the hit Netflix orginal series Longmire, Walt, Henry, and Vic discover much more than they bargained for when they are called in to investigate a hit-and-run accident involving a young motorcyclist near Devils Tower
In the midst of the largest motorcycle rally in the world, a young biker is run off the road and … road and ends up in critical condition. When Sheriff Walt Longmire and his good friend Henry Standing Bear are called to Hulett, Wyoming—the nearest town to America’s first national monument, Devils Tower—to investigate, things start getting complicated. As competing biker gangs; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms; a military-grade vehicle donated to the tiny local police force by a
wealthy entrepreneur; and Lola, the real-life femme fatale and namesake for Henry’s ‘59 Thunderbird (and, by extension, Walt’s granddaughter) come into play, it rapidly becomes clear that there is more to get to the bottom of at this year’s Sturgis Motorcycle Rally than a bike accident. After all, in the words of Arthur Conan Doyle, whose Adventures of Sherlock Holmes the Bear won’t stop quoting, “There is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact.”

I couldn’t put this down. I love the TV series. It was like watching an extended never before seen episode.
READ this book! In fact, read all of the series!
Another great book in the Longmire series
Loved it!
I liked the series on Netflix Longmire, so wanted to read this book. The characters were a little different, but on the overall similar to the series. Would try another book based on Longmire.
Love me some Longmire!
Classic Longmire genre with Longmire and friends operating outside of the rules of law.
Longmire is a character that I love, along with the odd (and the normal) characters around him. Longmire is a flawed character that still manages to do a good job–I can sympathize with that!
This story is also interesting in that it recreates the atmosphere around the Black Hills motorcycle days…most of us haven’t been there for that, and it’s interesting to see what it might be like.
I have watched Longmeyer the tv show and enjoyed it. This book is even better!
Great character interaction, read others since and watched whoe Netflix series as a result. (iBooks are better)
I’m in love with Walt!
Back to his Longmire roots. Still would like to see more of the Vic/Walt Relationship. Hate that he has gotten into the reliving Walt’s past. This one is just plain fun. Henry, Walt and Vic did it again.
Good except for all the F words. They detracted from the story. Not necessary.
A fine Longmire story.
Well done -a good example of an excellent series.
It’s like chocolate. Easy to want more and hard to stop.
Longmire is always 4*.
I have yet to read a Craig Johnston that disappointed me. I could not put this book down, and was sorry it ended
..but wait! He will write more books !!!
Craig Johnson’s Longmire character is a treasure due to Mr. Johnson’s writing and storytelling skills.
Another delightful adventure with interesting characters.
