This story swept me of to London for a journey of sensual romance and a bit of intrigue as Italian Count Nico de Luca arrives in London to check out the family shipping company’s accounts, here he meets Isabell Collins who is one of his tenants and he has been invited to stay for Christmas, and their meeting is like a bolt of lightning strikes them, let this exciting journey begin.
When Isabelle’s husband dies and leaves her and his mother in law in dire straits, together they do what they can, they rent the house that was theirs, when they are asked by the man of business who rents them the house to have the owner stay for Christmas with a bonus to them she eagerly accepts not knowing that this gesture will uncover some secrets from the past and will change her life forever, as she gets closer to the handsome and gentlemanly Nico.
Nico has been jilted by his fiancé and takes off to London after all his mother was English, he has a couple of things to do while in London and falling in love is not one of them but when he meets the delectable Isabelle there is no use fighting the connection between them and with him uncovering the theft from his business and the truth about the death of Isabelle’s husband things between them heat up in a sizzling affair.
This is a beautiful story so very sensual and heart-warming, both Nico and Isabelle have been through a lot and finding true love brings a lot of joy to them both and us readers, Isabelle is so strong and I loved that she stood up for herself and was not going to be walked over and Nico what a hero what a heart he has, I loved him I want him. Thankyou MS Cottman for another fabulous story one that will stay with me and is sure to bring a smile to any reader and yes it is one that I highly recommend.
An Italian Count for Christmas is book One in the London Lords Series. This is the story of Nico de Luca and Isabelle Collins.
Nico has given up on finding love after his last try and Isabelle too had a harsh wake up in the love department. But Isabelle was left with nothing after her terrible husband died. Nico goes to England to focus on his investments and work….but what he finds is the beautiful and somewhat broken Isabelle. Isabelle goal is to marry for wealth and security since marrying with emotions didn’t work.
Nico and Isabelle both have issues that they need to overcome to fully except the feelings that are growing fast. I really enjoyed their moving story and loved the Christmas touch near the end.
Whenever I see a story with Christmas in the title, I cannot wait to read it. To say this book lived up to all my exceptions barely touches the surface!! It seems fate brought them together but can each of them find a second chance at love? Count Nico has just been jilted and decides he needs to go to London to check on his business holdings. He is invited to stay with one of his tenants, Isabelle Collins, a widow who has been left poor by her terrible late husband.
Isabelle is only focused on finding a man with money who will give her the security she so lacks. Having her rich landlord stay with her will hopefully help her achieve that goal.
I loved these two characters and my heart went out to them. Sasha Cottman always brings the characters and settings alive and makes it easy to feel part of the story. Can these two find happiness at Christmas or are they scared due to their past disappointments?
What a wonderful story. An Italian Count for Christmas by Sasha Cottman is the first book in the London Lords series. If you want a feel good book than this is the book for you. I truly enjoyed every minute reading this regency book. Nico, Isabelle and Ann are such wonderful characters and this original story is stuff that dreams are made of. Sasha has a true talent for her descriptions that I felt I was back in time. This story has kindness, awkwardness, secrets, death, embezzlement, lies, understanding, broken engagement, understanding, caring, courage, deceit and love at first sight. Yes, this has it all. I highly recommend you read this book, it just put a smile on my face.
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Enjoyed this story of a Count who has sworn off love, and a widow who is down on her luck. Good story, likeable characters.
I struggled with this story. I liked the hero Nico. I enjoyed his personality and his love for life. But the heroine Isabelle seemed inconsistent. She is way too quick to jump into a physical relationship with Nico but holds back from letting him know her personally. The title suggests that this is a holiday “feeling” book, however, Christmas comes towards the end of the story. Not my favorite Cottman story. However, it is one of my favorite covers on a book.
