In this enchanting holiday novel from New York Times bestselling author Nancy Thayer, family and friends gather on Nantucket for a gorgeous winter wedding with plenty of merry surprises in store. As Christmas draws near, Felicia returns to her family’s home on the island to marry her adventurous, rugged boyfriend, Archie. Every detail is picture-perfect for a dream wedding: the snow-dusted … wedding: the snow-dusted streets, twinkling lights in the windows, a gorgeous red and white satin dress. Except a lavish ceremony is not Felicia’s dream at all; it’s what her mother, Jilly, wants. Jilly’s also worried that her daughter’s life with daredevil Archie will be all hiking and skydiving. Wondering if their handsome neighbor Steven Hardy might be a more suitable son-in-law, Jilly embarks on a secret matchmaking campaign for Felicia and the dashing stockbroker.
As the big day approaches and Jilly’s older daughter, Lauren, appears with rambunctious kids in tow, tensions in the household are high. With the family careening toward a Yuletide wedding disaster, an unexpected twist in Nancy Thayer’s heartwarming tale reminds everyone about the true meaning of the season.

I loved this book. It was so easy to read. As Christmas draws near, Felicia returns to her family’s home on the island to marry her adventurous, rugged boyfriend, Archie. However, her mother is worried that her daughter’s life with daredevil Archie will be all hiking and skydiving. Wondering if their handsome neighbor Steven Hardy might be a more …
I have said it before and I will say it many times in the future! You can really depend on Nancy Thayer to deliver a book you will love and not want to put down. This was a great story of family love and a new found love for a cat that will steal your heart! Christmas from start to finish with laughs and lots of love!
I usually really enjoy this authors books this was ok not one of my favorites
Story takes a few unexpected turns but is still a warm hug of a book
It was comical but serious too
Its a lovely visit to a wonderful island. Nancy’s characters are always recognizable & she reslly “places” you on the island.
Easy entertaining read that I thoroughly enjoyed.
It was a good story but had a hard time keeping my interest. Needs more interesting things going on and less descriptive items about the house
Page turner. Didn’t see the end coming.
Very poor effort.
Another Thayer book in my library. Review by Pam.
It was a delightful, easy to read, holiday story. It was nice to read this time of year considering the chaos going on in our country and around the world.
I read at 2:00AM when the rest of the house is sleeping. I had to stifle my laugh once Rex entered the picture. I am not a cat fan but this character brought this story to life/it was the story that cgamhef up the entire family cast.
I have always wanted to visit Nantucket and the descriptions of the island have caused my fondness to increase. …
This is a really dumb book- sort of a cozy without the murder mystery. I kept waiting for the plot to roll out and after I decided not to waste my time finishing it, I skimmed through the remainder to find the plot–nope there is none. I was attracted to this book by the setting on Nantucket but sadly that did not justify this disappointing book.
It was very entertaining. Especially dad’s out of character escapades.
I always enjoy Nancy Thayer’s books but this one was especially good and a lot of fun. The characters and the interplay between various family members, including the in-laws, was true to life and reminded me of some situations in my own past experience. And the trip back to Nantucket is a pleasure in each of her books – I’ve
got to get out …
I loved reading this book. The family struggles are as realistic as life today.
I know this author is well-liked, but this book seemed very elementary. I wanted to have a nice holiday story to read, but it just moved very slow and seemed very unrealistic. To have to explain to a couple how to take care of a pet, and what spaying and neutering is? Doesn’t everyone know this? She lost me when she said only ONE animal was …
One of my favorite authors.
Enjoyed the story very much. The relationship between the two main characters and the little girl were delightful. I believe I saw this story, a while after I read it as a Christmas Program on Hallmark.
