It looks like a bunch of secrets will come out this Thanksgiving.
The damn turkey better be worth it.

Cal and Maggie being together was a definite no no with Cal being Maggie’s dads best friend and the age gap was another thing to consider. The sneaking around and the possibility of getting caught is what made this book very interesting add in the sizzling, toe curling older man with experience young Maggie gets lost in her lust for Cal. Hmm I say go for this book it’s a older man / younger women with a shake not stirred.

Maggie has been in love with her dad’s best friend Cal for a long time and while over Thanksgiving break she seduces him. However it doesn’t end like she wanted because he worried about what her family would say and do so he told her it was a mistake they could never repeat. Not long after that night she ended up transferring colleges and going to Tennessee. Cal knew that he hurt her but hope they would be able to go back to how things were even though he still wanted her. Now years later Maggie is coming home and she’s brought her daughter Fern with her. What she didn’t expect was for her father to invite Cal over for the holiday meal. When Cal sees Fern he knows just by looking into her eyes that she is his daughter but he doesn’t know what to do about it. So he gets Maggie alone and tells her that they need to talk about what happened between them. Will Maggie give him another chance? What will her parents say about them being together?
This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I really enjoyed this older man/younger woman daddy’s best friend romance. It’s well-written with a wonderful fast-paced storyline. There is plenty of chemistry between Cal and Maggie, there is also plenty of drama and emotion, a delightful little girl and great friends and parents.
Can Cal and Maggie overcome their past to have a second chance?
Good second chance
3.5
Good romance a little predictable and cute: Maggie seduces an artist, Cal who is the best friend of her father and who has more than twenty years old over her. Cal rejects her immediately after and they do not see each other for 5 years. When they see each other again, Cal understands that they had a child and he wants to be part of his daughter’s life.
He also understands that he still loves Maggie, but convincing her will be complex between Maggie’s reluctance, their age, and Cal’s relationship with Maggie’s family.

I liked this story. I had some difficulty with Maggie’s decision about Fern with Cal, but it turned out okay. Maggie is a young woman that knows what and who she wants and goes for it. Cal is an artist and Maggie’s dad’s best friend. The age difference is large, but they don’t notice it. Cal and Maggie have a connection that they can’t explain.
There is quite a bit of angst in this story, but it resolves well. I recommend giving this a read!

This is a great book! Maggie crushes on Cal for years before finally becoming bold. I love her strength and stubbornness, but I think things would’ve been different if Cal didn’t do what he did. Will they or won’t they?

The daughter of her father’s best friend, she broke the taboo code…
I really had no issues with the age difference & after all, it was the younger virgin heroine who came on to her Dad’s best friend, twice her age nogal! Yet another compelling story from this gifted author, I sobbed, I laughed, my toes curled at the sexual chemistry, the heart dictates & rules, even against the odds & I will always believe that destiny plays a hand which I felt deeply with this well crafted intricate story. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
Maggie grew up around Cal, he was best friends with her dad. An encounter one night leaves Maggie dealing with the consequences years later. Something Cal knows nothing about. When Maggie finally returns home for the holidays, she doesn’t expect Cal to show up. When Cal sees with his own eyes what Maggie has been hiding can he ever forgive her? How will he feel?
This was a really entertaining read.
