Lady Martha and Lord Weston set out to deceive London society, but when the plan goes awry, they must turn to each other. Lady Martha has had to live in the shadows of her older sister, Lady Edith, her entire life. However, that has never stopped Martha from wanting what is best for Edith. When Edith is determined to wed Lord Hobart, Martha is distraught. Something is not right about that man, … about that man, and Martha believes he is hiding something sinister.
Lord Weston has been dreaming of courting Edith, and when he returns to London after an extended stay at his father’s estate, he is finally ready to ask Edith to marry him. However, he learns that he has competition: Lord Hobart.
Martha and Lord Weston both want to stop the potential betrothal between Lady Edith and Lord Hobart, so they agree to a plan they believe will solve the problem. However, when they start developing feelings for each other, it might be too late.

Joyce Alec does it again with this sweet clean romance. Lady Edith and her sister Martha are in town for the season. Lady Edith is pursuing Lord Hobart even though she has given her word to Lord Weston to wait for him to return to London. He had to leave London for a year and a half to care for his sick Father and their estate. When he returns the first thing he sees is Edith walking in the park with Lord Hobart. He enlists Martha’s help to win Edith back by appearing to court her. As they become closer and the lines blur, can they still remember the reason behind their relationship? I loved it.
