Another wonderful read from this author! A second chance romance, bad guys, a kidnapping and a rescue-what more could you ask for—
Iris Tavners has seen her 2 older sisters marry & move away from her parent’s inn on a seaside town & she is very happy for them but now longs to find a man to love. She thought she had found one in the form of August Williams, the Earl of the Westwood but discovered he was in love & betrothed to another & returned to London.
August returned to London to find his betrothed married to his best friend. This all happened while he was away spying in France for the Crown. After being back in London a short time, his superior officer informs him that he must go back into hiding at the inn he was recently staying at because they feared his uncover identity may discovered by the French & his life in danger.
When he returns to Southwold & the inn, the first thing he sees is Iris picking flowers in front of the inn. He startles Iris, she stumbles & August picks her up off the ground – what is that they both feel? The twosome begin a romance with some fun, danger, spies, jealousy & kisses. Ms. St. Clair always creates such wonderful characters – August & Iris were both fun loving, straight forward & belonged together.
This series has been about 4 sisters – First, Marigold got her Marquess; Second, Daisy got her Duke; now; Iris got her Earl ——— Violet is 4th & youngest, will she get her Viscount?? I highly recommend this book & series to all historical romance readers!
