Iris gets a second chance when the man she loves returns to her family inn. August is ordered to return to the Wild Rose Inn in hiding. There could be retribution from France for his work for the Crown. Between a French spy, an unwanted suitor and a man hesitant to trust, Iris won’t give up. August doesn’t stand a chance!
Another great book in this series, they just seem to get better and better! It was a sweet romance between Iris, an innkeeper’s daughter, and August, an earl who was in hiding after the war until they found out who was after him. He had been devastated by his fiancee when he first returned to find her married to his best friend and didn’t trust women anymore or want any more relationships. They have much to overcome! I loved how she didn’t sit back and wait for things to happen, she got right in the middle of things. That’s how I would have been. I highly recommend this book and this series!
Loved this sweet regency romance. Wonderful characters and fabulous story line:) Everyone deserves happiness with their true love. Happy reading!
Book three in The Blooming Brides series a well written story with a great storyline. I enjoyed reading Iris Tavners and August Williams, the Earl of the Westwood’s story they met in A Marquess for Marigold. This is a short quick story to read. I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Iris was a little full of herself because she received a lot of attention from men except for the one she really wanted August Williams, the Earl of Westwood. I loved that she could out shoot with a bow and arrow the men staying at The Wild Rose Inn and her slimy self-absorbed suitor Ernest. And that she was listening in and noticing things going on around her. She would have made a great spy. There was plenty of humor, romance, and suspense in this story. I can’t wait to read who Violet ends up with.
I so enjoy this series, this story can be a stand alone but would be more satisfying if you read the previous ones.
Their romance was very slow in building which was sweet. This is a clean story with only a few passionate kisses. I enjoyed the honesty of our h and how she slowly realized that she wanted to be a more caring person. I enjoyed her transformation to discover there was more to life than just caring for Iris.
I can’t wait for the story of Violet to be written because she is the quiet, loving and trusting sister. I’m sure she will find her love at the Inn as have her sister’s.
There are two villains and you know who one is, but the second one surprised me. We have some suspense, twists and romance.
Even though no spice, which I usually enjoy just a tad, I still felt a connection to the H/h. Our H was hurt emotionally and didn’t want to trust a women again. But, our h slowly worked her way into his heart and I relished the journey to their HEA.
We have no cheating, no cliffhanger, verge of an attempted rape but you just get the idea what the person was going to do, little described.
I can’t improve on the blurb, just recommending this series, this story and author.
I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own. (ljb)
In my opinion, I enjoyed this fast paced regency read.
Iris is the outgoing daughter, one of four sisters.
Her friend Millie asked her to draw Earnest’s attention to her.
August Williams is an earl and a spy. His intended married his best friend while he was spying. He’s sent to Southwold to hide out. He’s wary of women.
Is this a second chance for Iris to catch his attention?
I liked that sometimes the ladies have to rescue the men.
Iris Tavners, the third daughter still living at The Wild Rose Inn, is startled when August Williams, the Earl of Westbrook returns unexpectedly. Having left the first time to marry his love, Amelia, he had been so wrapped up in this love that he had not seen the burgeoning regard Iris was feeling. Is this her second chance or would she be happy as second best. His role as a spy puts them all in jeopardy. Loved this romp in Southwold. The scenery sounds so vivid I just want to visit. Excellent story!
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
ONE FABULOUS ADVENTURE!!!
My heart is full! Ellie totally rocked this unbelievable storyline and gripping plot with on point realism so rich and lively it takes your breath away. Ramping all the swirling emotions into play with every color on the spectrum. Twixt and twined and put through the wringer with a plethora of vexing events and daunting mishaps propel this bad boy roaring to life flawlessly. All the drama, compromises, intrigue, danger and suspense grabs your attention and total focus on this page turning wonder while balancing on a razors edge. Heartache, hope, strength and determination press forward to fuse this bad boy together piece by piece flawlessly. Witnessing the trials and tribulations that tests our characters in ways they never saw coming. The characters are authentic, genuine and realistic with depth and qualities it’s easy to relate. Their personalities are well balanced as they play off one scenario after another. Remarkable job Ellie, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
My favorite fiery flower got married! Iris is the feisty sister who is always up for fun. August is back in hiding to protect his identity and get over a failed engagement. This is a fun story in the same context as the rest of the series. The Tavners are a fun and quirky family. The story is simple and adorable as Iris protects the man she loves and gains his favor.
Delightful story with well-developed characters and a few quite exciting incidents. August and Lily certainly have their ups and downs, but fate steps in and their attraction grows stronger. I wanted to shake August a few times when he wouldn’t listen to Lily. This story was very hard to put down. I love this series and look forward to Violet’s book.
Iris is the third of four sisters she misses them more than she thought possible since they married and not just because she has more work to do in the inn. Her sister’s met the loves of their lives at the inn could Iris get so lucky. She thinks August Williams was that man until he told her he was going to marry the woman he loved and it wasn’t her. So when a friend asked her to flirt with the son of the apothecary so he would leave alone she agreed. Then suddenly August is back broken-hearted his sweetheart had married his best friend. So when he noticed Iris flirting with a young man he thought she was just like his sweetheart. Before things can be sorted through it comes out that August may be in danger from french spies which confuses things even more. Thankfully Iris sends for her sisters and the come to help.
I loved Iris’s story. She was not afraid to say what is on her mind. When August returns to the Iris’s family’s inn, Iris doesn’t know what to think. The last time he was there he went home to get married. Though that didn’t work out he is wary of his feelings toward Iris. But Iris’s forthrightness and bravery will be the catalyst to their relationship. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Good story of a second chance at romance, complicated by spies, secrets, and jealousy. I received an ARC of this book.
This is the story of Iris Tavners and August Williams, the Earl of Westwood. We met them in book 2 A Marquess for Marigold, I felt bad for how it ended between them. Now we get to read the rest of the story. Which has lost love and betrayal, spy’s , kidnapping , along with re learning trust and 2nd chances. Wow it is a quick read with help from her younger sister Violet and a return of her older sister Marigold. They figure everything out just in time maybe.
Iris was very fond of August during his first stay with then, she thought he was interested in her also but found out he had a fiancee waiting for him at home. She was very upset about this news.
Now August is back as information has been leaked that spy’s from the other side are looking for him. His life could be in danger. Since he left the Inn he found out his fiancee married his best friend and never meant to wait for him. He has decided all women are not to be trusted. If he only knew what was in store for him. With people who are not as they seem, events that are misleading, both Irs and August trying to come to understand their feeling and evil just around the corner. This is a great story , with lots of fun, and action and a few tears too.
I read it in one afternoon. Be sure and get your copy you will not be sorry.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and want to thank the author.
The third book in the Blooming Bride series brings Iris and August’s story. The author does a beautiful job moving the story from one book to the next and in developing the relationship between them. Her characters are strong , likable and well developed and the story flows fluidly with her detailed scenes. I enjoyed reading their story and am looking forward to Violet’s story. Well done.

Iris Tavners met the man of her dreams then he left as he was in love with someone else. Then he is told his identity has been compromised and he must return to the Wild Rose Inn. I felt sorry for Iris at the end of the previous book but now August is back unfortunately Iris is helping Millie find true love so she & August don’t get off to the best of starts. Another charming read that I read in a sitting, I love the Tavner sisters, each one so different but so endearing. The pace is good & didn’t lag at all, there’s spies, revenge & of course romance. I loved how August & Iris’ relationship developed & how they both learnt a lot about themselves
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Another wonderful book from a great author! I always enjoy a series and this one flows so nicely from one book to the next! Iris is a such a likeable character, as are all of the Tavners sisters. I highly recommend this book and all of the books in the series! Enjoy!
This is the 3rd book in the Blooming Brides Series by Ellie St. Clair, but it is a stand-alone book. This book is about Iris the third daughter of an Inn owner. She is beautiful and always has had men falling for her – until she meets August Williams when he visited the Inn a few months before. August was engaged to be married and took that seriously and never looked at Iris that way. Now after his engagement is broken, he was ordered to come back to the Inn where Iris is. He now realizes he has feelings for Iris, but he does not trust women any more. This is their story. This is another nice clean love story that the time will fly while you are reading it. I cannot wait for Violet, the fourth sister’s book.
Loved the turns of the plot and the interactions of the characters in this story. He has to overcome the betrayal of his ex and learn to trust once again.
