There’s only one way to escape Cecily Sheldon’s insane family – take on someone else’s identity. Along with this new identity comes a new job. Of course, to become a Pinkerton Agent, she must marry a male agent who will train her. Now she needs to keep her true identity hidden from Broderick Tanner for fear he’ll arrest her along with her father and brothers. Perhaps living a double life wasn’t a … wasn’t a good choice after all.

‘You…astound me Cecily’
This is my favourite of the series so far, I love Cecily’s transformation and that she and Rick get the opportunity to get to know each other and fall in love before she is judged because of who her family is. I also like that although she had hoped (and convinced herself) that her family had never killed, she is realistic enough to accept the truth when given to her.
I like Rick and I love how frazzled Cecily makes him! I also like that he doesn’t jump to conclusions, he assesses the evidence before acting.
They make such a sweet couple and the love and trust between them is felt in every page. A fantastic addition to the series, which I read on Kindle Unlimited.
The very end was a bit corny, but the rest was thrilling. This is my favorite premise so far. A daughter of outlaws escapes her family and takes on the identity of a young woman that her family had killed. As such, she becomes a Pinkerton Agent who marries, (unknown at the time), the very Agent hunting her family!
A woman desperate to get away from her family. By chance or fate an opportunity comes and Cecily takes on another identity. What is amazing is that she also goes to take the person’s job! A Pinkerton Agent! The catch is she has to marry a male Pinkerton agent ( in name only) so he can train her as they travel to a new assignment!
But she never expected to be paired with the handsome Broderick Tanner, who she prayed would not recognize her!!
They were to find a missing mayor in California and the stakes got a little high when she ran into her outlaw family!!
This is such a delightful, fun story that once I picked it up I read all the way through! The characters and places seemed so real and they mystery kept me guessing! I was anxious to see how Cecily and Broderick got past some hurdles but trust me, you will be so entertained and love this book!! I cannot wait to read more by this author and the rest in this series!
All of the books in the Pinkerton Matchmaker series have been wonderful, and An Agent for Cecily is no exception. The twists and turns in the story of Cecily and Rick kept me engaged throughout. A wonderful read, and I am looking forward to the next book.
A well written story about how a young woman desperate to leave her past and family behind takes on the identity of a deceased young woman and also her career that awaited her. Married a man whom she didn’t love, to do something with her life that mattered. She wanted to be able to hold her head high as not to be judged for the name she was born with. This story has it twists and turns to keep you wanting more. A great addition to the Pinkerton Agent series!!
Cecily wants another life desperately. As a daughter and sister of an outlaw gang she needs a miracle. When she discovers a robbed stagecoach and finds papers for a Pinkerton Agent application of one of the deceased passengers she decides to take her place.
She needs to keep her past a secret but why she needs to get married to Rick, the man who was after her family gang?
And what will happen when Rick discovers her past, will he ever trust her?
Another great story in this fun series, packed with love and adventure.
I normally don’t read short novellas. They always just feel rushed and leave me hanging for more (which means it was a good story). This book was no exception. I enjoyed the story line. It was a cute and clean romance. Cecily was a fun character.
