“Fans of laugh-out-loud romantic suspense will enjoy this new author as she joins the ranks of Janet Evanovich, Katie MacAllister, and Jennifer Crusie.”—Booklist, on An Affair to Dismember
“Elise Sax will win your heart.”—New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis
Three months has been Gladie Burger’s limit when it comes to staying in one place. That’s why Gladie is more than a little … than a little skeptical when her Grandma Zelda—who is more than a little psychic– recruits her into the family’s matchmaking business in the quaint small town of Cannes, California. What’s more, Gladie is also highly unqualified, having a terrible track record with romance. Still, Zelda is convinced that her granddaughter has her clairvoyant “gift.” But when the going gets tough, Gladie wonders if this gift has a return policy.
When Zelda’s neighbor drops dead in his kitchen, Gladie is swept into his bizarre family’s drama. Despite warnings from the (distractingly gorgeous) chief of police to steer clear of his investigation, Gladie is out to prove that her neighbor’s death was murder. It’s not too long before she’s in way over her head—with the hunky police chief, a dysfunctional family full of possible killers, and yet another mysterious and handsome man, whose attentions she’s unable to ignore. Gladie is clearly being pursued—either by true love or by a murderer. Who will catch her first?

Enjoyable characters and characterization in a small town full of wild personalities. Easy, fun read with more books to the series. Looking forward to enjoying more reading of this author.
Love this series! A ton of laugh out loud moments. Lots of fun!
Loved the characters – well written and fun to read.
Fun read.
I cannot remember much about like it or hate it so I cannot rate this one right now.
oh my gosh so funny!! this book lead to my buying more of the series, I am 5 books in. She is hysterical!!
good read
A light-hearted book; good for before-bed reading
A glorious summer read. A hoot!!!
I didn’t like this book. It’s over written. I couldn’t even finish it.
I love crazy but I thought it was too unrealistic and stretched disbelief too much.
I absolutely loved this series. I read all 11 in a few days. Definitely worth a read!
Too close a copy to Stephanie Plum.
Funny is not entirely descriptive…loved the characters and story line…loved her writing style and clever phrasing. Sometimes I was caught completely off guard by a scene and couldn’t help laughing out loud. I found myself pulling for one character or another. Very enjoyable!
Entertaining
Gladie Burrger is training to be a matchmaker. Her grandmother says she has “the sight”and wants to train her and since she holds the record for number of different jobs she failed at, she agrees. What she does not count on is the murder she will be embroiled in and the handsome men who seem interested.
This is the first book in the Matchmaker Mystery series and what a fantastic beginning. This book is laugh out loud funny, fully of eccentric and kooky characters and set in a town where anything can happen. It is an amazing book and I highly recommend it to anyone who love a funny murder mystery. I look forward to all the books in this series.
to much formula like other authors of that genre
Did not like this. Character needs to get a brain.
This book is an easy to read, humorous, and very witty read. Sax reminds me of Janet Evanowich as far as the humor in her writings. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
I read the first 75 pages. I just couldn’t get into it. I skipped to the last 30 pages to skip the chase. It was REALLY hard for me to stay interested. Maybe the next book is better? But unfortunately for the author I’m not going to buy it to find out.
