I washed ashore in a little lake town.A place where everyone knows everyone, yet… recognition deep in his stare, the way it lingers on my face as if I’m a puzzle he’s desperate to put together.
I just want answers, the truth… knowledge.
His lips are sealed. Still, his eyes beguile me.
I can’t trust anyone, not even myself. Someone wants me dead, the same someone who tried to bury me in a watery grave.
They’ll come for me again… I won’t know their face.
I don’t even know mine.
I am amnesia.

Amnesia is a lost soul. After being rescued by the small towns golden boy, Edward Donovan, Am wakes up to being poked and proded by doctors and nurses in a unfamiliar hospital. She cant remember a thing. Not even her name.
Am broke my heart and teared me up inside Everything she went through was so tragic! The power she had to move on and her dry humour made me laugh and added lightness to the story.
OMFG I LIVED for Eddie Donovan! He was such and amazing hero! I loved him sooo much. His protective nature towards Am was so hot! I love how he took control when things went south. He was her lifeline and he never let her down. We need more Eddie Donovan’s out there.
Piece by piece we were getting answers and the more we got answers the more questuons I got!
The dynamic between Eddie and Am was so beautuiful the strength of their relationship was unbelievable. They had such a strong bond that no one could break and I loved that.
Its rare when I think a couple has TRUE LOVE. Yes I love many books and they are written amazingly well but its rare that I feel a couple is truly and deeply in love like Eddie and Am were.
I loved the mystery aspect of this book. I was always wondering what was going to happen next. I’ve only read one other book by Cambria before this, so I am going to make it my business to read more.
What a crazy idea for a book! I loved the unique nature of the story line! I felt like I was reading something so different and incomparable. Cambria did an amazing job of keeping me guessing and biting my nails in anticipation. I was hooked from the very first chapter and couldn’t put this read down! There was just something so captivating about the unknown that surrounded Amnesia and her entire being. Was she Sadie? Where had she been this whole time? What caused her to lose her memory? The more I read, the more confused I became and I loved every minute of it! The thrill was definitely there!
I’m 30% through the book,
I chose this story as one of the novels I would read for one of my reading club challenges. As I started to read this story, I became bored and close to DNF. Not really wanting to stop reading unless it is truly horrible, I was glad that I continued. This story is a must-read in its own bizarre kind of way.
I thought the writing was good and basically a story of losing and finding someone and how a heart that was broken years before, is healed in the today. There are a variety of things that evolve in this story. There is plenty of suspense that involve lies, love, hate, forgiveness, hideous behavior, and much more. Unfortunately, there is a cliffhanger a that totally threw me for a loop. I guess I will have to read the next in this series.
I’ve never heard or read anything by Cambria Hebert, however I am glad that I decided to read this story. It was very close to 5-Stars for me. I truly enjoyed and totally recommend.
Wow, Cambria Hebert can write some romantic suspense! I admit, I’ve only read her Hashtag Series and her GearShark Series. Diving into Amnesia was a whole different world away from the Hashtag crew. I’m so happy I grabbed this book though, I was not disappointed at all.
Amnesia was highly addicting. I found myself not being able to put this book down. In fact, there was one night, I realized I read until day break. This book will grab you, have you sitting on the edge of your seat, heart pounding, with multiple theories you come up with as to who the villain is. Once that person is revealed, your theories are completely null. At the end, you only get one piece of the missing puzzle.
Cambria Hebert did an excellent job writing this book. I loved every minute of it. I couldn’t get enough of it. Her writing is incredibly descriptive when it came to the setting, the characters, and even the weather changes. It made you feel like you were there, seeing everything, feeling everything. As a reader, you felt the pain and anguish of the main character, Amnesia. The heartbreak Eddie felt while reading his POV.
Amnesia is highly captivating and an emotional roller coaster. Told in dual POV’s, it’s one of my favorite books by Cambria Hebert. I just started Amnesty last night and I’m already on chapter 6! I highly recommend this duet.
I was curious of what Cambria had up her sleeve when she first announced her newest book. Knowing she completely set aside her work in progress at the time to start -and ultimately finish- this book automatically made me when to learn more about it. When a story takes hold of a writer’s brain that hardcore, it must be a good one. Especially coming from Cambria’s wonderfully talented mind.
Okay, so let’s get the one tiny little bad thing I have to say about this book out of the way before we continue. This is one of those moments that makes being a book reviewer hard, when you have something negative to say about a book written by an author you absolutely love. It completely hurts my heart, but to be fair, these things have to be mentioned. There editing wasn’t 100%. There were a few wrong words here and there, a couple misspellings if I remember correctly. For the sake of the story, it wasn’t a big deal. But for me, a person that pretty much unintentionally proofreads EVERYTHING I’m reading, it was a bit frustrating at times.
So, that bit aside… this book was freaking amazing. I was hooked as soon as I began reading and found myself eager to read one chapter after the next in search of Amnesia’s memories and all the seemingly horrible things that happened to her. I quickly fell into a groove while reading this book and truly didn’t want to put it down. I’ve always loved Cambria’s stories but there’s just something about this one that drew me in even more so than my favorites of hers.
While completely different than the last two worlds we found ourselves in with Hebert, it is no less amazing. The curiosity the story invokes is real and takes you on a journey to learn more. A girl wakes up in a hospital with no idea who she is or what she’s been through, just with the knowledge that, whatever has happened to her, it isn’t particularly something she will want to remember and that is a truly interesting concept. Enter in the guy who saved her who is seemingly obsessed with her, a town full of secrets, and a lake that holds something a lot scarier than the Loch Ness Monster, Amnesia is a wild ride.
For whatever reason, I’ve always felt drawn to certain places and the New England states are among them. So I really enjoyed the setting of this story and I couldn’t get enough of the quaint little lake town or the people who lived there.
Overall, I seriously enjoyed this book. This may possibly be my favorite Cambria Hebert book to date. In the author’s note of the book she hinted that there may possibly be future stories involving the town of Lake Lochlain and it’s residents and I honestly hope that she really does venture back into it. I want to know more and I’m so happy that this is a duet. I can’t wait for book number two, Amnesty. I have to find out what happens next!
Rating: 4 Stars.
What a great mystery story! This one kept me on my toes. I really liked that I thought I knew how it was going to go and then just kidding, I was totally wrong. Really looking forward to the next one to see how everything turns out!
I really love Cambria Hebert’s stories she does twists and turns so good. The connection between Eddie and Amnesia is just amazing and this story gives you all the feels and I can’t wait to read the second book in this series.
I love how this book captured me from the beginning! It was mysterious, dangerous and kept me guessing! I loved Eddie and how loyal he was to the girl he saves. Amnesia is lost, scared but feels safe with Eddie. How hard it would be to wake up in an unfamiliar place with no one you know, not even yourself. I felt for this girl and for Eddie. Follow their journey to figure out who she is, what happened to her and can he keep her safe now? Eagerly waiting for book #2!
