I enjoyed it because my husband grew up in the area. So I recognized a lot of places.
I don’t usually read this type of books but wanted a change. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Especially the cat and the 80 something year old sisters. I really wanted to continue with the series but have to watch the budget.
This is an awesome box set of funny cozy mysteries .
Book one
This is a delightful cozy murder mystery set in an Amish cupcake store. As the owner is Amish and her twin sister is a divorced non Amish woman, you get glimpses of both societies. I enjoyed the mixture of cultures and the quirky senior sisters who rent the apartment above the bakery. The mystery is great, with numerous viable suspects, subtle interesting clues, twists and turns and suspense. I found the dialogue witty and well done. The storyline flows smoothly. This is a well written cozy mystery worth reading.
Book two
Quirky characters and a great mystery are the hallmark of the second book in this great cozy mystery series. The characters are fun, interact well and engaging. The storyline flows quickly and smoothly, grabbing your interest and keeping it until the end. The mystery has numerous viable suspects, interesting subtle clues, surprises, twists and turns and suspense. I really enjoy how the characters interact and the interjection of humour. I look forward to the next book in the series. It is well written and engaging.
Book three
Excellent cozy murder mystery filled with quirky characters and great detective work. This is the third edition of the the well crafted “Amish Cupcake Mystery series“. The characters are chalked fulled of mystery and personality that quickly engage you in the story. The storyline flows smoothly and quickly. The narrative provides a glimpse into the Amish lifestyle and the heroine’s thoughts, emotions, reasoning and actions. The mystery was interesting with multiple suspects, lots of relevant clues, surprises and suspense. I enjoyed how the lives of characters progress and develop throughout the series. The dialogue is witty and compelling and the character interaction humorous, romantic and explorative. If you like cozy mysteries with a furry character you will enjoy this series.
Book 1: First book in the series. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was well written & I didn’t figure out who committed the crime until the author revealed it. Loved the older sisters that are Jane’s new roommates, they are hilarious. I look forward to reading the next book.
Book 2: Really enjoyed reading this book. I was just as good as the last one. Fun with great characters and a mystery that will keep you guessing. I look forward to reading more.
Book 3: Jane, Matilda, & Elenanor are at the scene of another murder by poison. The detectives are once again suspicious of Rebecca. Join Jane, the girls and Mr. Crumbles for another great story full of twist and turns. The author will keep you guessing and laughing until the end.
I read the first book in this series. It was fine. I might read more of them.
Book 1 Jane Delight spent her 50th birthday being told by husband Ted Delight that she is being replaced by a much younger version and now she has nothing (except that she never really did with Ted anyway.)
Jane’s sister offers her an apartment above her Amish Cupcake Shop and Jane will help Rebecca with her baking and customers. She only has to meet her two very, very interesting roommates, Matilda and Eleanor.
All is well until a very pushy man who wants to buy out Rebecca’s shop drops over dead…in the shop. Well, here comes the suspect list (Jane) and an investigation including roommates and a cat plus a rather handsome Scottish detective. I really enjoyed this cozy. There are some tidbits about Amish living and ways, humor in the form of Matilda, Eleanor, Mr. Crumbles, a detective trying to understand Amish ways, and others. It’s a nice break from serious even with murder involved, and with an unpredictable ending with some danger and fun thrown in.
Book 2
Jane Delight has her hands full at the moment. Her sister has a broken arm and as a good sister does, Jane takes over running the cupcake shop, baking, and generally trying to figure out her roommates, Matilda and Eleanor plus Mr. Crumbles.
The only thing she doesn’t need is to have dinner with her ex-husband, Ted and his new much younger wife, Cherri. Ted has his reasons and Cherri is delighted (pardon the pun) to meet Jane. When the unthinkable happens and Ted is suspected of murder, Cherri involves Jane. This is a fun book (in spite of murder, of course). When Matilda, Eleanor and Mr. Crumbles are part of the story, you’re going to have an interesting time. Of course, there’s that handsome Scottish detective who seems to keep an eye on Jane. I liked this book so much that I went straight into reading the next one in this series.
Book 3
Jane witnesses a bullying of her sister, Rebecca, by Judy Jenkins. Judy claims that Rebecca stole her cupcake idea. Then Judy is found dead at her book launch and Rebecca is a suspect. Apparently, it’s all about timing.
Detective Damon McCloud is worried about Jane’s investigation. We find out more about Matilda and Eleanor. Mr. Crumbles learns to walk on a leash with hilarious results due to a previous experience (if you read book two, you’ll know, if you didn’t, you really should and I recommend it.) Damon is not happy about a new guy in town. You’ll find out more about poisons in reading this series than you ever expected, but it’s the roommates and Mr. Crumbles that help make this series fun crazy. Enjoy!
I liked it & hope to read more by this author
This set of books was entertaining and easy to read. The only drawback is they are predictable and, without giving anything away, the endings were silly.
It ended too soon. I could have kept on reading.
Playful to read…cute premise.
light-hearted with several zany ageless characters, a rambunctious cat. Also
along the way learn many details of Amish life.
These are a fun read. Characters are entertaining. I happily read the entire series.
A little corny but a nice easy to read cozy.
Great adventure, funny and great recipes.
all three story were exactly alike. you read one you’ve read them all.
I enjoyed the first book of the series and would rate it 3 or 4 star. Sorry to say the second book after two chapters became so ridiculous I stopped reading. I doubt that I will read the third book.
This isn’t your typical Amish story but it is a lot of fun to read.
I always like the cozy mysteries. These three books were very good.
Three great cozy mysteries that held my interest. I definitely will seek more from this author. The mix of cultures really provides for insight and interest. I definitely want to know more about the two sisters who rent from Rebecca.
I enjoyed the first book, the next two were good and entertaining but a little to much like the first book.
