I was privileged to read The Amish Author’s Christmas by Ashley Emma.
A sweet romance of hidden talents .
I thoroughly loved the characters and the story line was a delight. I would have loved this story to fill an entire novel.
Savour the read.
A Gift Waiting For by Tracy Fredrychowski
This is one of the sweetest and most compelling short stories I have read in quite a while. When a family loses it father and shortly after loses their mother what is the oldest daughter to do besides take up the reins and care for her younger siblings. Through her grief and despair Amanda Beiler trudges through daily life as she questions why a loving God would take her mother. Bitterness creeps in and grabs a hold of her heart while she learns she may be in danger of losing the home she and her sisters love.
New to town ,Adam Weaver has moved into the house across the street carrying his own heavy burdens. Seeking a change in hopes of rebuilding his life he is encouraged by his Uncle Bishop Mose to befriend the young woman across the street and her sisters. Wise Bishop Mose knows Adam has just what Amanda needs to hear stored up in his heart after the loss of his wife and child. As the two become acquaintances and then friends they begin to exchange notes of encouragement allowing each to write down whats on their hearts and minds. There could be a romance brewing along with hot cups of chocolate Adam enjoys with Amanda and her sisters but I think I will leave that up to the reader to discover.
This is one of those stories that will have you thinking if you have experienced loss in your own life. The power of God’s grace flows and is evident to the reader and it usually comes at just the right time and when we least expect it. I fell in love with all the characters and the setting which had me sitting on a cold bench on a snowy day with these characters. This is a beautiful story of fully relying and leaning our Heavenly Father to trust him even when we don’t understand his plan. I kept thinking of Jeremiah 29:11 while I read the ending.
A five star rating and a must read book!
I received an Advanced Readers Copy from the author and all opinions are of my own
