The Midwife’s Christmas Surprise by Marta Perry
Anna Zook and Elizabeth Miller are partners together in a midwife practice. Anna has been with the Miller family for the past five years. The family treats her as though she is one of them. No one knows the hurt and pain Anna has had in her heart for the past three years. Their son Benjamin Miller swore his love to her and asked her to be his wife, but the very next day he jumped the fence and hadn’t been heard from since. Then suddenly he was back home and wanting things to return to normal as they were before he left. Anna is determined not to trust Ben with her heart again. The hurt is still raw. Can he be trusted again and will he really stay around for long.
A Christmas to Remember by Jo Ann Brown
A young lady and a small girl appears suddenly in the town of Paradise Springs Pennsylvania. What is unusual about their arrival is that the lady doesn’t seem to know who she is or how she got there. She doesn’t even know if the little girl is hers or not. Amos Stoltzfus notices the little girl in his grocery store and follows her to a lady the child calls Linda. The Little girl knows her first name is Polly . The two apparently were on their way to visit their grandparents but something has happened to them along the way. They are obviously Amish by the way they are dressed. The lady has no purse or identification on her. She passes out and Amos takes her into his store. He then takes her home to his family and a doctor checks her over and decides she has had a nasty hit to her head with a severe conclusion causing amnesia. The family welcomes her to their home until her memory returns. An attraction grows between Linda and Amos but her memory doesn’t return. She wonders if she is married to someone . Polly is too young to be of much help. Surely someone must be missing her and Polly. Who is she really and where did she come from? Will her memory ever return?
I enjoyed both these stories but my heart went out to Linda, Polly and Amos in Jo Ann Brown’s A Christmas to Remember. Both novellas were filled with the Christmas Spirit.
This is a quick easy to read Book for readers of Amish Fiction. If you read Love Inspired books or are fans of either of the writers you will want to read this two novella book.
