Remember that time you accidentally sexted your in-laws?Yeah. I just did that. Except worse. Now my million social media followers are reading and sharing the rude, smartass message I meant to send privately to my little sister…and I’m officially public enemy number one.I’m Beck Ryder. Former boy bander. Underwear model. Fashion mogul. And I just buried my entire leg in my mouth—not just my … in my mouth—not just my foot—modern internet style, and publicly insulted my sister’s neighbor.
Sarah Dempsey.
Also known as the woman of my dreams, who loves geeky TV shows, baseball, and giraffes, who’s just as turned on by food as I am, and who has a huge secret that I didn’t see coming.
Now it’s time to grovel and apologize publicly on social media and hope that those same followers who helped start the raging shitstorm will help calm the waters.
Because Sarah doesn’t want the spotlight. For very good reasons that I can’t tell you right now and trying to convince her to be my fake girlfriend to fix this mess and make me look like less of a jackass is worse than taking a kick to the nuts by Jackie Chan.
And I thought modeling underwear made me feel naked.
Trying to start a relationship in the era of the twitterazzi isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be.
America’s Geekheart is a rockin’ fun romantic comedy featuring a billionaire fashion mogul who got his start modeling underwear, the geeky girl next door with a secret the size of California, and more superstitions and secrets than you can shake a baseball bat at. It stands alone with no cheating or cliffhangers.

America’s Geekheart is absolutely amazing and is book two in the Bro Codes series by Pippa Grant. It can be read as a standalone but to get the full story, it would be best to start with book one, Flirting with the Frenemy.
Beck is an absolute sweetheart. He is adorable and is a straightforward person. When he accidentally sends a sarcastic tweet to someone other than his sister, his life goes down the drain. Beck is an ex-boy band member turned model and now the whole world hates him due to his tweet. Enter the recluse, Sarah, and the story begins!
Sarah is the daughter of famous actors who has changed her name and lives in the shadows like she wants. Not even her best friend knows who she really is. When Beck’s tweet sends her life into the spotlight, she will do anything to remain anonymous.
Holy. Crow. My first book by Pippa was Flirting with the Frenemy so naturally, I had to read the second installment in the series to find out what Beck did. I cannot express how much you guys need to read this series. It is amazing and Pippa out did herself writing the characters. The plot is wonderful, the chemistry is smokin’ and it is hilarious.
Look no further for a fun, smart, snarky, sexy AF enemies-to-lovers book!! America’s Geekheart is all that and so much more.
I loved the relationship between Beck and Sarah. Drawn to each other due to an unforeseen social media mishap, Beck and Sarah instantly connect—maybe not in the best of ways at first, but their whole slow-burning relationship was fun and smart. I loved their banter, that Sarah gave it right back to Beck. And I loved Beck for his obliviousness when it came to really being in a relationship. That he was just clueless was so fun to see him get it together. And I loved seeing Sarah’s self-confidence bloom with being with the right person.
I couldn’t flip the pages on my kindle fast enough to see where this romance ended up.
In this episode of Pippa’s zany romantic comedy (no worries, anti-cliffers, it’s still a stand alone) we have geeky science girl, Sarah, who’s still searching to find her place in the world she’s so passionate about saving, and underwear model and fashion mogul, Beck, who has amazing family and friends, as well as a pretty charmed life, but is still searching for that special someone.
How does Grant keep coming up with this stuff? From tasers and tweets gone awry to classic video arcade games, baby poop bombs, live giraffe cams and true love between a cat and potbellied pig, there’s nary a dull moment in this author’s latest book. She’ll have you laughing until you cry one moment then whiplash you right into the most heart-felt, touching scene the next. It’s impossible not to love her larger-than-life characters with quirks and flaws that only serve to endear them even more to the reader.
Sexy, loveable, big-hearted Beck spends as much time with his foot in his mouth as our brilliant, naturally beautiful Sarah spends trying to escape her past, but his latest gaffe draws Sarah right back into the spotlight. You can probably see where this is going, but with Grant, it’s never quite what we expect. Beck and Sarah’s story has more ups and downs, twists and turns, and sneaky surprises than the best roller coaster out there. Grant’s stories are always more than the average rom-com – more zany, more outrageous, more hilarious, more touching and emotional – but this one is even MORE more. If you want a book that’s not fit to be read in public due to unexplainable snorts and barks of laughter but fills your heart with all the feels from characters who will immortalize themselves in your heart, Grant is your girl and America’s Geekheart is your book.

Pippa Grant writes rom-coms very well. But for me, she excels when she dips her toe in that emotional well while still maintaining her signature comedy. This book gave me shivers, so many feels!
I found this book empowering, emotional, funny, sexy, and darn if that Beck didn’t knock Wyatt off the book boyfriend pedestal (previously occupied by Ares). Beck is everything you want in a hero. Smart, self-effacing, sexy, funny, hungry, earnest, and innocent. He’s no arrogant alpha, he’s full of regret and indignation, so focused on making right a horrible mistake. You will swoon as I did when he watches his girl bloom under his attention. Beck loves big, he’s a lover of life and people and love and that’s so attractive! Who wouldn’t bloom under his care! Sigh. So good.
America’s Geekheart by Pippa Grant is book Two in the Bro Code series. This is the story of Beckett ‘Beck’ Ryder and Sarah Dempsey. I haven’t yet read the previous book, so for me this was a standalone book.
Beck is in Copper Valley for his sister’s engagement party. What Beck does as a funny personal message he ends up accidentally sending it publicly which ends up getting Sarah noticed. Sarah is a geek, environmental engineer, likes to be to herself and looks out for animals. Sarah also just tries to be out of the spotlight. Sara is the daughter of famous movie star parents so she knows about the spot light and what it does. Beck is working as a underwear model and is a fashion Mogul but due to this going public it hurting him. A deal is struck to be a pretend couple until they can clear the air…but as we know pretend relationship always turns to more.
Enjoyed their story and hope to read more from this author in the future.
4.5 stars
Poor science loving Sarah has spent the majority of her life avoiding limelight and spectacle; the exact kind of spotlight being thrust upon her right freaking now. Leave it to a stupid underwear model to tweet a total stranger and set the world ablaze. To say Becket Ryder, former boy bander and current underwear model/mogul has lost his allure in Sarah’s eyes is a massive understatement, even if he is the best thing to happen to underwear since Marky Mark.
Beck and his big fingers, ugh. Beck was clueless as to the agony he created when he crafted the tweet felt around the world. It was meant as a joke! for his sister! not her innocent, slightly geeky, totally adorable neighbor. He knows somehow he’ll make it out the other side, somewhat bruised and battered maybe but the fallout for the adorable science nerd is worse. He’s found the one thing that’s not a joke and he’ll do anything to fix it.
I can’t with Pippa Grant. Lol. Her books are too much! In this installment, ridiculously adorable, precocious as a 5 year old, Beck is in fine form! Whether it’s finding himself on the business end of a taser, passing baby poop bombs or covered in funnel cake, he’s impossible not to like! His brand of humor just warms my heart and cracks me up. Everyone could use a little more Beck outlook in their lives, especially our timid, sweetheart in hiding Sarah. I loved these two together and how Sarah blossomed! He’s irreverent, hilarious and heartfelt. She’s passionate and thoughtful and oh how she needs Beck and his ridiculous gaggle of good guys and gals in her life! Hated to see the end of this one, can’t wait for the next!!

As a fan of all things Pippa I have been waiting not so patiently to find out what in the world Beck did that he had all the women of the world mad at him. OH my Stars he really stuck his foot and leg in his mouth this time. Can an underwear model really be sweet? Ask his sister’s next door neighbor Sarah Dempsey the object of his wayward text. This book had me laughing out loud but not only that it also had me thinking long and hard and also going to the computer and giving to animals that are going instinct. So back to Beck and Sarah we get to know these two who seem to be total opposites that are pulled together by that chemistry that even they can not deny. Throw in quirky parents, a pregnant giraffe and a fun loving pig in a tutu and well you have one of the best Pippa Grant books yet.
When I see Pippa has a book out I have to have it! I can count on a hilarious story with awesome characters that you can’t get enough of! Beck and Sarah I love them! All the characters in these books are hilarious. You’re going to want her books they will put a smile on your face for days!
Absolutely Amazing!!!
Absolutely Amazing!!!
America’s Geekheart is the perfect mix of romantic, funny, swoony, sexy and laugh out loud hilarious!
If you look up romcom in the dictionary, you will probably discover it to be the cover of Geekheart.
Beck is easily the most romantic hero I’ve read in a while; although he starts his story on a very wrong foot, with the proverbial foot (in his case the entire leg) inserted so deep in his mouth, it just might need to be surgically removed.
But you can’t help but love him anyways and cheer him on as he redeems himself and falls for Sarah.
Throughout the book we get to visit with his former bandmates, his family, some Hollywood royalty, Fireballs’ and Thrusters’ players as well as pet pigs, and other domesticated animals and even an endangered species.
I have read and loved all Pippa Grant’s book but America’s Geekheart just became my all time favorite!
If you are looking for a sweet, sexy romcom you definitely want to read Beck’s and Sarah’s story!
Beck and Sarah are hilarious. I love that they are typical pretty. Yes, Beck is an underwear model, but he’s skinny and not all big muscles. Sarah is quiet and quirky, but so sweet. I love them. Pippa had me rolling with these two.
Oh my gosh, Beck is perfection! A goofy, kind-heart, genuine good guy and I loved him so much. He had me laughing from the very start and I could not get enough of him. And I loved Sarah so much too. A smart, kind woman who loves her family and friends. These two together are unstoppable and my favorite Pippa couple, by far.
All the situations they went through had me laughing out loud so many times, I was getting weird looks as I was reading. Worth it. Sarah’s Dad was so growly and hilarious, his one liners to Beck had me rolling. Both families are great and I can’t wait to get caught up with the rest of the crew.
What can I say about Beck & Sarah? They were incredible together and this book, America’s Geekheart was a proper romantic comedy.
He’s goofy and upbeat and too good-looking to be true. She is a geek who wears hilarious geeky t-shirts, may or may not brush her hair and has a love of giraffes. What’s not to like?
I really enjoyed the slow burn of Beck and Sarah’s story because the focus was all on the friendship and the romance. Every little thing they learned about each other was just so…visceral, like all the things you love about someone when you truly fall in love.
Most of the time the supporting cast of characters doesn’t leave much of an imprint, but the more I read the more I hoped to read stories about Mackenzie, Tripp, and every other person in Beck’s orbit. I even hope Sunny & Judson make more appearances because they were all crazy and kooky and funny.
America’s Geekheart was a total romance win for me!
I absolutely loved this hilarious, and heartfelt, enemies-to-lovers romance! This slow burn, rom-com is filled with witty banter, awkward and hilarious situations, and a sweet and sexy storyline with lots of heart. After Beck makes a huge mistake, putting his neighbor in the crosshairs of social media, he needs to do whatever it takes to make it up to her and salvage both their careers. Beck is a billionaire underware model and fashion mogul, and he is about to lose a partnership if he doesn’t do something quick. Sarah is sweet, geeky, and wants to save the giraffes. They decide they can help each other by faking a relationship to clean up his image and call attention to the giraffes near and dear to Sarah’s heart. As they spend more time together, they have fun together and their attraction and chemistry grows. But Sarah has a secret she is trying to hide, and it all blows up when that secret comes to light. Sarah and Beck were so perfect for each other, making each other better and they had great chemistry. I also loved their close knit and quirky family that cause more hilarity, complications, and drama that had me laughing out loud, swooning, and cheering for Sarah and Beck’s HEA.
Narrators, Jason Clarke, and Erin Mallon made this romance even sweeter and sexier. They did an amazing job with Grant’s witty banter, and they easily made me feel all the turmoil, fun, and passion between these characters. I was totally lost to their performance as they brought this playful, moving, and sizzling romance to life!
Beck may be my favorite Bro Code member. Due to a mis-sent tweet that would have been normal, tasteless ribbing for his sister, he sets off a bad press avalanche that could derail his charity foundation launch. When he finally meets the recipient of his tweet, he’s blown away.
Sarah is a an environmentally aware blogger who likes being faceless. When Beck’s tweet goes viral, she gets thrust into the limelight and her past tears its ugly head. It there’s something about Beck that just might make it all worth it.
I love PippaGrant’s writing. I discovered Rom Coms last year and they have taken over my life. Giggling like a teenage girl and holding in my laughs so hard whilst in bed trying not to wale hubby as I snort laugh.
This is what this book did to me. Beck Ryder OMG a celebrity who hasn’t slept around, a guy who doesn’t have a lot of experience and not scared to tell the girl he is falling fall he needs to practice to see if he can give her a “ Double O”
Like Paleeeese Be still my beating heart.
Then there is Sarah or Serendipity or Miss Geeky, or whatever Sarah as Beck discovers after “ Tasering his Ahemmmm” The girl that he falls for “ literally “ at first meet.
Hughesy funny amazing side characters that I hope we get to know more of and that Pirate town of Shipwreck, I can’t wait to get back to.
No spoilers from me as I’m just going to say,
READ IT NOW AS IM OFF TO FIND WHAT COMES NEXT
Beck is an underwear model who accidentally sends a private tweet meant for his sister, publicly to his geeky next door neighbor, Sarah, making him enemy #1 in the twittersphere.
Sarah is a very private person, due to having famous parents and some not so flattering childhood experiences. So when Beck accidentally tweets her, she is thrust back into the spotlight. The 2 soon enter into a fake relationship but it soon isn’t really all that fake.
This relationship soon comes in handy to help Sarah with her cause to bring attention to a pregnant giraffe.
Beck is the total goofball boyfriend we all want, who isn’t sure what he’s supposed to be doing, but ends up saying all the right things anyways.
I loved the witty banter between these 2 characters and how it brings out Sarah’s true self. AND Beck’s love of all things food made me constantly want to grab a snack while reading but I resisted….for the most part. Pippa threw in a taser, a cat loving pig, some poop bombs. and odd baseball game superstitions, I just had to keep reading.
5 America’s Geekheart Stars
America’s Geekheart is book two in the Bro Code series by Pippa Grant. In book one, Flirting with the Frenemy, we met Ellie Ryder and in this book, we meet her older brother, Beckett (Beck) Ryder.
Beck is an ex Boy band Idol and has built a very successful fashion empire and does a bit of underwear modelling to top it all off! There is nothing more that he loves and enjoys is being home with his family and enjoying time with them and his friends. On his way home to celebrate his sister’s engagement to one of his oldest and best friends, he sends a joking, sarcastic, sexist joke to his sister on Twitter. But actually end up sending it publicly to Sarah his sisters neighbour who he has never even meet before.
Sarah Dempsey is a science geek and she’s ok with that. But she does not like attention and Beck’s tweet has all of that sent her way.
“This is a woman with secrets. And I want to know every last one.”
“She’s mine. I called her. You can’t have her. You snooze, you lose. I licked her. She’s mine now.”
This book was so much fun to read, it’s started of slow but quickly turned into a fun, sweet read, jam packed full of such incredible secondary characters that make this story so good. I really did enjoy this. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series.
What a complete joy of a book! Beck and Sarah’s slow burn romance is delightful, with fabulous side characters, general mayhem and hilarity. Pot bellied pigs are the least of these!
Beck is a truly magical character, filled with a joyous optimism which is the perfect antidote to the reserved, suspicious Sarah whose fear of the public eye and is based on prior, very negative experience. I loved them together. While never in doubt that the outcome would be a slice of happiness, I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every minute of the journey and the anticipation of the outcome! Pippa Grant is a gift!
I love the bond between the two and how family is everything.
