“Jaw-dropping…Undeniably riveting.” —RICHARD ROEPER, Chicago Sun-Times
From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. His fellow American warriors, whom he protected with deadly precision from rooftops and stealth positions during the Iraq War, called him “The Legend”; meanwhile, the enemy feared him so much they named him al-Shaitan (“the devil”) and placed a bounty on his head. Kyle, who was tragically killed in 2013, writes honestly about the pain of war—including the deaths of two close SEAL teammates—and in moving first-person passages throughout, his wife, Taya, speaks openly about the strains of war on their family, as well as on Chris.
Gripping and unforgettable, Kyle’s masterful account of his extraordinary battlefield experiences ranks as one of the great war memoirs of all time.

Shows Americans what our soldiers endured in the Iraq counter-insurgency, and how their families were impacted.
Such a sad story. I cried because it is real. What a great human being he was. How he had to resolve in his mind and heart what he was doing. What a sacrifice he made for his country. It leaves a mark on your heart.
Well done
I just could not understand him wanting to leave his wife and kids over and over
I found this book to have way too much bravado and swearing. I did like the snippets from his wife.
I Admire him. I, also, admire his wife. It is Terrible, he got killed by someone, he and his friend, were trying to HELP. Times, like This,I don’t understand God, in letting him die. I still think that movie star us lie down dirty for sueing him.
Such a sad ending to such an outstanding hero. God bless him and his family. This book is an extreme page turner thats hard to put down.
This was the most interesting true life story that touched me heart. Knowing the rest of the story made his life so sad and interesting.
His career in the military was fascinating and even though he isn’t a professional writer, he brought his story to life and touched my heart.
American Liar is more like it. It should be in fiction and not biography
Very humbling to think what our military goes through every day to preserve our freedoms. Thank God for them!!!
Kind of slow Reading
Great read!
Absolutely recommend.
.
A true story of a true hero. Very sad that a man who came through his many tours of duty in war zones, comes home and tries to help fellow vets only to die at the hands of a sick man. Great read.
Chris Kyle explains what his job entails and the split second decisions that need to be made in a world of kill or be killed. There were some funny stories, which in the situation he was in you need to find humor where you can. A must read for those of us who enjoy military true stories. It also gives me a look at the people we are facing in the …
Fascinating true story of an American hero.
A true American hero. , we are all blessed to have men like him protecting our families.
A realistic portrayal of what Kyles went through, from training to operations where lives were at stake, when both skill and judgment were crucial. The role of family versus Kyle’s devotion to the military missions shows the angst he endured.
Unbelievable valor
