“Jaw-dropping…Undeniably riveting.” —RICHARD ROEPER, Chicago Sun-Times
From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. His fellow American warriors, whom he protected with deadly precision from rooftops and stealth positions during the Iraq War, called him “The Legend”; meanwhile, the enemy feared him so much they named him al-Shaitan (“the devil”) and placed a bounty on his head. Kyle, who was tragically killed in 2013, writes honestly about the pain of war—including the deaths of two close SEAL teammates—and in moving first-person passages throughout, his wife, Taya, speaks openly about the strains of war on their family, as well as on Chris.
Gripping and unforgettable, Kyle’s masterful account of his extraordinary battlefield experiences ranks as one of the great war memoirs of all time.

Interesting perspective on the life of a sniper. Dragged after awhile so hard to finish.
I remember the day this American hero passed away. All the out pou of support from people who may not have met him, but heard of his bravery. He was an All American Hero. I am grateful to have gotten to know him through his words.
who doesn’t want to read about an American hero?
Jingoistic American Warmongering. He who lives by the sword shall die by the sword. He lies buried in Austin’s State Cemetery under a massive memorial
This is a wonderful true story of Kris Kyle, a great American hero! This story will stay with me forever!
Thoroughly enjoyed this autobiography. It’s tragic that he died so senselesslt
I was not able to put this book down until I had read it in one sitting! A true “American hero” for the ages. I gathered so much more of what exactly it was to be responsible for the safety of others; with no regard to his own. Also, how difficult a time Chris Kyle had, as a sniper, in making difficult decisions. The tightrope he walked …
Not very well written.
Enjoyable but also sad and touching.
It was awful.
Awful book by an awful person about an awful war. Please don’t waste your time.
Great read about a great American.
Great characters. Good story telling.
What a story. What a hero!
Really like books that are based on true life situations. This is a ‘very much’ must read.
